The lack of nutritious food has been found to impact an individual’s mental health, depending on their access to the appropriate food a person needs daily to remain healthy. The issue of not being properly nourished is causing students to develop mental health issues that lead to more stress, depression, and anxiety. This study utilized data collected from currently enrolled NKU students, ages 18 and older. ACEs can negatively impact an individual in many ways, which includes engaging in high-risk sexual behaviors. An electronic self-report survey will examine ACEs and high-risk sexual behavior among NKU students. This study anticipates finding an individual with a higher ACE score having more high-risk behaviors. Instructor Gender and Student Gender Influence Standards for Teaching Effectiveness
No full text2020 Celebration of Student Research and Creativity presentationResearch examining the influence of gender stereotypes on students’ evaluations of course instructors has found that ratings were lower when the instructor was thought to be female. The present study extends this research by examining the role of gender in setting standards for evaluating instructor competence. College participants read a description of a male or female instructor and answered questions measuring their attitudes and expectancies of instructor behaviors (e.g., hours devoted to updating lectures, speed in responding to email). What Characteristics Should be Utilized to determine priority areas for Conservation?

This was achieved by researching and analyzing the existing conservation areas of the region using ArcGIS and environmental resource maps provided by OKI. We compared layers from 2015 and 2019 to identify important variables to study. We then created multiple scenarios with different data combinations to create the most effective tool for identifying priority areas. In this study, remote sensing data is used to analyze tree canopy change over time at Red River Gorge in mid-Kentucky. The study results show the tree canopy change in both residential and non-residential areas in the study area. Effects of Self-Discrepancy Salience and Purchase Type on Extended Self
No full textThis research study investigates how the perception of one’s self concept and perceived consumption of luxury material and experiential purchases can affect wellbeing. Previous research states that possessions are evaluated on their ability to fulfill basic human needs. Participants will write 10 traits that describes a person and will write about consuming a luxury material or a luxury experiential purchase. Extended Self, Happiness, and Satisfaction will be measured. It is hypothesized that when there is a discrepancy amongst self-concepts, people will gain more happiness and satisfaction from luxury experiential purchases.
