Challenges Females Face in STEM and the Difficulties Retaining Them
2021 Celebration of Student Research and Creativity presentation"There is a complex issue with female recruitment, support, and retention in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) related fields. Insights are drawn from the disciplines Psychology, Sociology, and Education; Psychology draws insight on how females feel, Sociology draws insight on the predetermined stereotypes society has set, and Education draws insight from what could be done with the proper education towards dealing with these challenges. Proportional Theory and Imposter Phenomenon are closely related to the Psychological aspects, while Social Role Theory, Retention Theory, and Stereotype Threat Theory is closely related to the Sociological. Actions towards the retention of females in STEM are apart of the right type of education towards knowing the challenges a female meets."https://youtu.be/4GfNVKqvB7
