Contribución al conocimiento de los isópodos terrestres de la Comunidad Valenciana y de la Región de Murcia, España (Crustacea: Isopoda, Oniscidea)
Full text linkIn this work, 1047 specimens belonging to 31 species of terrestrial isopods of the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia have been studied and a bibliographic revision of all the previous references is also presented. As a result of the study, the known isopod fauna of the Valencian Community is made up of 55 species, 10 of them endemic, 36 of which are found in the province of Alicante, 27 in Valencia, 25 in Castellón and the Region of Murcia 22, 1 of them endemic. For the 60 species treated, their distribution in each of the regions and their general distribution in the Iberian-Balearic area are facilitated. Three species are cited for the first time for the Valencian Community, and another seven species for some of its provinces. Likewise, three species are cited for the first time for the Region of Murcia.En este trabajo se han estudiado 1.047 ejemplares pertenecientes a 31 especies de isópodos terrestres de la Comunidad Valenciana y de la Región de Murcia y se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica de todas las citas anteriores de ambas regiones. Como resultado del estudio, la fauna conocida de isópodos de la Comunidad Valenciana está formada por 55 especies, de ellas 10 son endémicas, 36 se encuentran en la provincia de Alicante, 27 en Valencia, 25 en Castellón y en la Región de Murcia 22, 1 de ellas endémica. Para las 60 especies tratadas, se facilita su distribución en cada una de las regiones y su distribución general en el área iberobalear. Se citan tres especies por primera vez para la Comunidad Valenciana, y otras siete especies para alguna de sus provincias. Asimismo se citan tres especies por primera vez para la Región de Murcia

Full text linkThe firefly species Photinus immigrans is currently known only from the Iberian Peninsula, although it is likely an introduced species that originated from somewhere in North America. Its last larval stage is here newly recorded and illustrated. The larvae can be easily distinguished from the larvae of Iberian native species by having several longitudinal light brown to reddish stripes on each segment on a black to dark brown background. They were found living in the soil, in the upper 10–15 cm. P. immigrans lives in sympatry with at least three other native lampyrid species: Lampyris iberica, Nyctophila reichii and Lamprohiza mulsantii, although it was not observed in strict syntopy, at least during larval phases, in our surveys. Larvae of Photinus immigrans probably use at least partly different alimentary resources, and adult communication signals are different to those of native species living in sympatry, although a detailed study of interspecific competition and the potential effect of the species on the native fireflies is pending.La luciérnaga Photinus immigrans se conoce únicamente en la península ibérica, aunque probablemente es una especie originaria de Norteamérica. En esta nota presentamos el primer registro e ilustración de su larva. Ésta puede ser fácilmente identificada gracias a su patrón de coloración, formado en cada segmento por varias líneas longitudinales marrón claro o rojizas sobre fondo negro o marrón oscuro. Se han encontrado viviendo enterradas en capas superficiales del suelo, hasta 10–15 cm de profundidad. P. immigrans vive en simpatría con al menos otras tres especies de luciérnaga nativas de la península ibérica: Lampyris iberica, Nyctophila reichii and Lamprohiza mulsantii, aunque aparentemente no hay sintopía estricta al menos durante las fases larvarias. Las larvas de P. immigrans probablemente utilizan recursos tróficos parcialmente diferentes a los de las especies nativas, y su señalización luminosa es también muy diferente a aquellas de otras especies simpátricas, aunque es necesario un estudio en profundidad sobre competencia interespecífica y el posible efecto de esta especie exótica sobre las luciérnagas nativas

Full text linkAn update to the checklist of hymenopterans of the Piura region in northwestern Peru is made based on specimen collecting, bibliographic records and a review of the material deposited in entomological collections. A total of 22 species, 18 genera and four families are added and we complete the identification to species level for nine taxa in the previous checklist, leaving it updated to 167 species, 131 genera, 30 families and nine superfamilies. For 18 already known species, new provincial data are reported expanding its known distribution within the region. The added species are presented as a commented taxonomic list and an update checklist of all the hymenopterans known until now by the region with distribution by province and ecological landscape is included.Con base en colectas, registros bibliográficos y revisión de material depositado en colecciones entomológicas se realiza una actualización al listado de himenópteros de la región Piura al noroeste de Perú. Se adicionan 22 especies, 18 géneros, cuatro familias y se completa la identificación hasta el nivel de especie de nueve taxones citados en el listado previo, quedando la lista actualizada en 167 especies, 131 géneros, 30 familias y nueve superfamilias. Para 18 especies ya conocidas se reportan nuevos datos provinciales ampliando su área de distribución conocida dentro de la región. Las especies añadidas en esta actualización se presentan a modo de listado taxonómico comentado y se incluye lista actualizada de todos los himenópteros conocidos hasta el momento para la región con distribución por provincia y paisaje ecológico

Full text linkCamptoptera aveolobato Anwar & Zeya sp. nov. (Hymenoptera: Mymaridae) is described. Camptoptera concava Taguchi, 1972 from the Philippines and C. jthuberi Triapitsyn, 2018 from Taiwan are recorded for the first time from India and redescribed. A modified couplet for the key to the Indian species of Camptoptera by Anwar et al. (2020) is provided.

Full text linkGiven the destruction of the only previously known locality of S. paraloutetense Crosskey 1988 on Gran Canaria, the discovery of a young larva in a spring brook on La Gomera is of special faunistic importance. The determination was difficult as there are no clear diagnostic characters for young larvae; plausible differentiation from the similar species was, however, possible. Bionomic information about the distribution and ecology of other simuliid species on La Gomera are given.Debido a la destrucción de la única localidad conocida anteriormente de S. paraloutetense Crosskey, 1988 en Gran Canaria, el descubrimiento de una larva joven en un arroyo primaveral de La Gomera reviste una especial importancia faunística. La determinación fue difícil ya que no hay caracteres diagnósticos claros para las larvas jóvenes; sin embargo, fue posible una diferenciación plausible de especies similares. Se proporciona información bionómica sobre la distribución y ecología de otras especies de simúlidos en La Gomera
Annotated check-list of Pteromalidae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) of Morocco. Part II.
Full text linkIn this second part, we present the subfamily Pteromalinae in Morocco, which includes 86 species belonging to 50 genera. Fifteen genera and 37 species are listed for the first time in the Moroccan fauna, among which 9 have been newly identified, 24 have been found in the bibliography and 4 deposited in natural history museums. An updated list of Moroccan species is given, including their distribution by regions, their general distribution and their hosts.En esta segunda parte, presentamos la subfamilia Pteromalinae en Marruecos, que incluye 86 especies pertenecientes a 50 géneros. Quince géneros y 37 especies se enumeran por primera vez en la fauna marroquí, de las cuales 9 han sido recientemente identificadas, 24 se han encontrado en la bibliografía y 4 están depositadas en museos de historia natural. Se proporciona una lista actualizada de especies marroquíes, incluida su distribución por regiones, su distribución general y sus huéspedes

Full text linkListed recently in the top “hundred worst” alien species and the third “worst alien” mollusc in Europe, the New Zealand mudsnail has become cosmopolitan. We report its first finding in the African continent, in Morocco. Established populations of Potamopyrgus antipodarum were found in the Low Moulouya wetland, a Ramsar and Biological and Ecological Interest Site (SIBE), occupying natural and anthropogenic habitats (spring, river and artificial canal). The invasion process seems to be in its early stages, calling for drastic measures to control its invasion progress.Incluido recientemente entre las “cien peores” especies invasoras y siendo el tercero de los “peores moluscos invasores” en Europa, el caracol del cieno de Nueva Zelanda ha llegado a ser cosmopolita. Se comunica el primer hallazgo en el continente africano, en Marruecos. Se encontraron poblaciones establecidas de Potamopyrgus antipodarum en el humedal Low Moulouya, un Sitio Ramsar y un Sitio de Interés Biológico y Ecológico (SIBE), donde ocupa hábitats naturales y antropogénicos (manantial, río y canal artificial). El proceso de invasión parece estar en sus primeras etapas, lo que exige medidas drásticas para poder controlar su progreso
