Constrained Neural Network-based Model Predictive Control for Quadrotors Using the Sine Cosine Algorithm

In this paper, an efficient nonlinear control algorithm, called Constrained Neural Networks based Model Predictive control using Sine Cosine Algorithm (CNNMPC-SCA) is developed to control the dynamics of quadrotors. The main objective is to design an efficient controller for quadrotors that ensures satisfactory performance while minimizing the gap between the quadrotor positions and the reference trajectories. Indeed, a novel dynamic model architecture of the quadrotor is developed using several Nonlinear Autoregressive Exogenous (NARX) neural networks, this model aims to accurately predict the future behavior of the quadrotor within a short and acceptable time frame, making it suitable for implementation in the control process. The designed model was validated and then integrated into the CNNMPC-SCA algorithm. Furthermore, the metaheuristic algorithm known as the Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA) was modified and employed to solve the non-convex, nonlinear optimization problem of the proposed predictive controller. To assess the efficiency of the proposed CNNMPC-SCA algorithm, a comparative study was conducted using the Adaptive Fuzzy PID controller and the hybrid Fuzzy PID controller. The obtained results demonstrate that the proposed control algorithm achieves better control performances compared to those obtained using the other considered controllers

Development of a New Method for Characterize Resistance to Cyclic Tensile Load in Mono and Hybrid Composites

The objective of our study was to investigate and describe the durability of mono and hybrid composite materials reinforced with various fabrics (namely, glass, carbon, and basalt) and an epoxy resin matrix against repetitive loads, with a particular focus on their potential use in wind turbine blades. The mechanical properties of these materials were evaluated through repeated tensile tests involving high deflection and low cycle numbers. A new approach was introduced for characterizing and comparing the performance of glass, carbon, and basalt fiber reinforced epoxy composites. Our results led to the development of a novel model to evaluate a new mechanical property, the asymptotic modulus, which can be used to assess the resistance of composite materials to multi-cycle tensile loads in a faster and simpler manner. Differences between the measured and by our model predicted values were low, the values of determination coefficient were higher than 94%

Increasing Navigation Safety by Introducing the Modern DunaInfoControl Control System

The study presents a development proposal coordinated by the Hungarian Academy of Engineering (MMA) for intelligent navigation management on the Danube. We analyse the introduction of a security-enhancing central control system based on the IDM model. The publication reviews the main issues related to navigation safety in Hungary. Without claiming to be exhaustive, in the field of water transport control theory and practical applications, important players include HUN-REN SZTAKI, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Széchenyi István University, HungaroControl Zrt. and the Water Police. This development requires combining modern control theory and a high-capacity 5G network. The program proposes the implementation of intelligent control in the first phase in the Budapest area, between river km 1660 in the north and river km 1633 in the south. This is because accidents much larger than the "Hableány" boat tragedy that occurred in Budapest on the evening of May 29, 2019, at 9:05 p.m., may occur in this section in the future. Consider, for example, the appearance of convoys transporting 6000-8000 tons of dangerous goods on the Danube. These represent a very serious source of danger in the event of collisions with the Budapest bridge piers. The proposal also intends to support the RSOE river IT system (developed by NOVOFER Zrt.), which has been built and operating since the end of 2018

Language Integration of Adult Immigrants in the EU in the Context of Policy Measures

    No full text
The EU has had an action plan for integration and social inclusion since 2016 (European Commission, 2020), but national strategies vary between member states (Vareikyté, 2020). In line with this, the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) (Solano and Huddleston, 2020), which measures countries' success in integrating migrants, gives countries very different scores. As knowledge of the host country's language is key to immigrant integration (OECD, 2022), this research aims to examine the relationship between language integration policies and integration success as measured by the MIPEX. In this way, the present research can provide a new perspective on successful integration by linking successful integration to host country policies related to language integration

The labor market is undergoing profound changes driven by technological innovation, globalization, and socio-economic transformation. This study explores how competency expectations have evolved over the past decade, with a particular focus on the growing relevance of transferable skills. Through a comprehensive literature review and analysis of large-scale international labor market reports, the paper identifies key trends shaping future employment. It highlights the increasing demand for analytical thinking, adaptability, problem-solving, and lifelong learning as central competencies. Digital literacy, including AI and Big Data skills, is also becoming a fundamental requirement across all industries, not just within ICT-related fields. The research shows that employers now value a broader skill set that includes both specialized knowledge and human-centric capabilities such as collaboration, leadership, and emotional intelligence. The study also discusses the emergence of "multiskilling" and "upskilling" in response to skill-intensive job growth and the decline of low-skilled roles. Personal and social competencies, such as self-regulation, resilience, and intercultural communication, are increasingly seen as critical to navigating the volatile and complex modern workplace. Finally, the study underscores the role of educational systems and employers in preparing individuals to meet evolving competency demands. As technological and environmental disruptions continue, a dynamic and inclusive approach to skills development will be essential for future workforce success

Due to the significant changes in the Hungarian National Core Curriculum introduced in the previous years and the modified requirements of the 2024 mathematics graduation exam, the mathematical knowledge and learning abilities of the first-year students entering the Faculty of Economics at BUTE have changed significantly. Our aim was to investigate these changes through an assessment test requiring only high school level mathematics knowledge, in which 395 of our students participated in the autumn semester of 2024/25. After a thorough review of the fundamentals and the discussion of introductory concepts at the beginning of the semester, the test was written only in the 10th week of the semester, so that we could also measure the impact of the first weeks of the Mathematics A1a course. Our paper provides a detailed analysis of the results of the assessment test, and through them highlights some important deficiencies in the attained competencies and learning techniques of the students. Summarizing the experiences from the past semester we describe the compromises we introduced to facilitate the students’ preparation process for the midterm mathematics tests and exam. Finally, we make some suggestions on how to improve the mathematical education of the first-year economic students to help them to continue their studies with more self-confidence and advanced mathematical knowledge.
