Business Model (BM) Transformations in Business-to-Business (B2B) Digital Multimodal Logistics Platform Ecosystem: Insights from Prospective Marketplace Sellers and Buyers
Digitalization and sustainability imperatives are transforming the logistics industry; however, the evolution of business models (BMs) in emerging business-to-business (B2B) digital multimodal marketplaces has not been thoroughly explored. This study investigates how one of the first B2B digital multimodal marketplace ecosystems – designed to calculate emissions and promote more sustainable logistics services – might affect the BMs of sellers and buyers. We used a qualitative research design based on the Business Model Canvas (BMC). To gather data, we analyzed the current (AS-IS) and future (TO-BE) BMs. Additionally, we created detailed questionnaires structured around the BMC framework, which were completed by representatives from seller and buyer actor groups. A hybrid deductive-inductive coding approach allowed us to integrate the established BMC framework with emergent themes. Our analysis reveals significant potential transformations in the key activities, followed by potential changes in key resources, channels and revenue streams. Most BM changes centre on adding emission calculation as a new value-proposition element, which in turn triggers adjustments in the other BMC blocks. These insights deepen the theoretical understanding of how digital logistics marketplace ecosystem might drive BM transformation, while also highlighting the anticipated challenges, risks, and necessary adjustments managers in the logistics industry should address when integrating a digital marketplace ecosystem. This study is one of the first to analyze likely changes in the BMs of companies adopting a B2B digital logistics platform ecosystem. Additionally, it is the first to explore a multimodal and environmentally conscious platform ecosystem
Current trends in library and information science in the light of PhD research and studies – 8. Interview with Judit Vántsa: Interview with Judit Vántsa
The editorial team of CELISR sent a questionnaire to recent graduates of the Library and Information Science doctoral program at the ELTE Doctoral School of Literary Studies, in order to provide the journal’s readers with an insight into the current and future scientific activities of researchers, and to give an idea of the current research trends in the field. The following article contains a brief overview of the PhD research conducted by Judit Vántsa, librarian at Báró Wesselényi Miklós Public Library, Kézdivásárhely, Romania, with background and future prospects. A Z és Alfa generáció sebezhető és megállíthatatlan fiataljainak ellenálló képességi profiljai
Introduction: The mental health of younger generations is a topic of increasing focus, with particular attention on the resilience of Generations Z and Alpha. This study aimed to provide a pattern-based understanding of resilience in these cohorts. Objective: The primary objective was to identify distinct resilience profiles among students in Fejér County and to explore generational and gender differences. Method: A cross-sectional survey involved 3,275 students from Fejér County. Resilience was measured using the 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-10). Data were analyzed using two-step cluster analysis, non-parametric tests, chi-square tests, and Spearman's correlation. Results: The analysis revealed three resilience profiles: low ("Vulnerable"), average, and high ("Unstoppable"). Generation Z exhibited significantly higher resilience scores than Generation Alpha. Males proved to be more resilient than females. Higher parental education was associated with stronger resilience, while greater internet use was associated with lower resilience. Conclusions: The study successfully identified heterogeneous resilience patterns in young people, which can inform the development of targeted, school-based resilience-building programs. Módszer: A keresztmetszeti kérdőíves vizsgálatban 3275 Fejér megyei diák vett részt. A reziliencia mérésére a Connor-Davidson Reziliencia Skála 10-tételes változatát (CD-RISC-10) alkalmaztuk. Kétlépcsős klaszteranalízist, nem-parametrikus próbákat, khí-négyzet-próbát és Spearman-korrelációt használtunk. Eredmények: Az elemzés három reziliencia-profilt tárt fel: alacsony („Törékenyek"), átlagos és magas („Megállíthatatlanok") ellenállóképességű csoportokat. A Z generáció szignifikánsan magasabb reziliencia-pontszámot mutatott az Alfa generációnál. A fiúk reziliensebbnek bizonyultak a lányoknál. A szülők magasabb végzettsége erőteljesebb, a több internethasználat alacsonyabb rezilienciával társult. Következtetések: A kutatás sikeresen azonosította a fiatalok heterogén reziliencia-mintázatait, amely megalapozhatja a célzott iskolai reziliencia-fejlesztő programok kidolgozását
