Yoakum Athletic Field
In 1912 B. F. Yoakum, president of the Frisco Railroad System, agreed to purchase ten acres north of the Waxahachie campus for use as an athletic field. Named in memory of the donor's father, F.L. Yoakum, who was a former president of Larissa College, Yoakum Athletic Field became a hub of activity during the school year. In 1913 Waxahachie citizens contributed sufficient funds to grade the grounds, prepare a running track, and erect a board fence
