James Laurie and James Robinson
Pictured left to right are James W. Laurie, Trinity president, and Presbyterian clergyman James Robinson, pastor of the Church of the Master in New York City and founder of Cross Roads Africa program. Robinson visited the Trinity campus in 1961 to encourage Trinity students to paticipate in the program which provided opportunities for American students to visit Africa and become familiar with the social and economic problems facing the continent. Other Texas colleges also participated in the event which was the first of its kind in Texas
