Julius Caesar Dramaturgy
No full textThe purpose of my research was to gain a detailed understanding of Roman society and history leading up to, during, and directly after Julius Caesar’s rise to power. With this knowledge I would be able to communicate important context to actors and other members of the production team. My main source was the New Cambridge Shakespeare third edition of Julius Caesar, which included a lengthy historical introduction as well as excerpts from the historian Plutarch. My advisor, Dr. Joan Robbins was able to provide me with excerpts from Shakespeare’s Roman Worlds by Vivian Thomas that provided some analysis of Julius Caesar. Due to my schedule I was not able to complete much analysis as my main focus was to provide the actors with an understanding of the world their characters inhabited. The director, Prof. James Savage compiled information on the Elizabethan era which allowed me more time to focus on multiple aspects of ancient Roman society and some bibliographical information on the characters in the play. I also gathered information relating to the punk movement and aesthetic as the play was set in that style

Introduction: Antimicrobial resistance is a prominent threat to healthcare all around the world. Resistance occurs when bacteria that are not susceptible to a given antibiotic reproduce and pass along this trait. Over time this process can lead to certain antibiotics losing some, or even all of their potential applications for treatment of infections.
Purpose: The purpose of this project is to educate prescribers at Lima Memorial Hospital (LMH) in order to reduce the negative effects of antimicrobial resistance.
Methods: An educational video will be made with data from 2019, 2021, and 2022 antibiograms and literature searches regarding the concerning trends in antimicrobial resistance. Prescribers at LMH will be educated about the trends in antimicrobial resistance, as well as possible ways to avoid increasing resistance rates through an educational video session. They will be given a pre- and post-educational survey to assess their knowledge of the subject.
Results: This project is currently ongoing. Educational materials and surveys are in development. Data will be available in April 2023. It is expected that participants will have an increased understanding and awareness of antimicrobial resistance following the educational presentation.

KOSOVO SPECIALIST COURT: SOVEREIGNTY INFRINGEMENT AND THE RISK OF A NEW PRECEDENT
Get PDFThe Kosovo Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecutor’s Office, otherwise known as the Kosovo Specialist Court (KSC), was established in 2015, thus presenting the most recent mechanism to adjudicate war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the Kosovo War of 1998-1999. Its formation has led to numerous unresolved questions, particularly in regard to the implications between international courts and national (domestic) courts. Holding the epithet of being a hybrid court in theory, while also showing elements of an international court in reality, has brought doubts that such courts can indeed be established by simply revealing another perception of it. The paper analyzes, step by step, the historical context and its interrelation with the court formation necessity, followed by the basis of establishment in the respective nature and questions on its legitimacy. It goes into deeper detail concerning substantial issues such as the applicable international law in the case of the Kosovo–Serbia war, particularly in regard to conventional and customary rules; and whether it should be considered a conflict at all and what rules apply in each case. A judiciary comparison is needed to understand the risk of a new precedent, and the article ends with a potential alternative to what could have been done better, legally speaking. Concluding remarks follow, recognizing the support of the international community, but with the silent questions and hopes on what the future of KSC will be
