En defensa de la Ortología
Get PDFOrthology is a linguistic discipline that should be given more importance in Spain, a society concerned with the protection of language; consequently, the pronunciation of the language is totally unprotected by precautionary rules. Not enough attention is paid to it at any educational level. When children are about twelve years old, they have reached the peak of their capacity for acquiring linguistic habits; therefore, it seems absurd not to make use of the skills of primary school students. It is imperative that the universities and institutions which could have an influence should do everything in their hands to raise the awareness of the need of Orthology and retrieve it for classrooms at a decisive moment.La Ortología es una disciplina lingüística a la que en España no damos el lugar que debería corresponderle en una sociedad atenta a la protección del idioma, con lo que la pronunciación de la lengua queda huérfana de prevención normativa. En ningún nivel de la enseñanza se le presta suficiente atención. Como hacia los doce años es cuando la capacidad de adquisición de hábitos lingüísticos alcanza su pico, parece absurdo desaprovechar las posibilidades de los niños de Primaria. Se impone que la Universidad y las instituciones que puedan influir en ello promuevan que se reconozca la necesidad de la Ortología y la rescaten para las aulas en un momento clave.
