On the Epistemological Implications of Transcendental Synthesis and Subjective Spontaneity in Kant's Apperception Theory
Kant's theory of apperception, with its transcendental synthesis as its foundational principle and subjective spontaneity as its fundamental element, serves to unify the manifold of sensibility and the categories of understanding through a three-stage progressive synthesis. It provides a comprehensive response to the foundational question of modern epistemology—namely, the possibility of universally necessary scientific knowledge—while also transcending the long-standing dichotomy between empiricism and rationalism. This seminal work is poised to catalyze a paradigm shift within the field of epistemology. The present paper posits that the crux of this three-stage synthetic mechanism resides in the dialectical unity of the manifold of sensibility and the categories of understanding. This proposition has the potential to furnish a constructive solution to the conceptualist-nonconceptualist debate surrounding the "manifold of sensibility" in contemporary Kantian studies. However, the theory has limitations, including an overemphasis on the absoluteness of innate cognitive forms and a detachment from practical and socio-historical contexts. This detachment directly restricts the validity of the theory's conclusions within the contemporary epistemological framework
Mirror, Self, and Vision: Childhood Autobiographies of Yan Phou Lee and Ilhan New
This study compares two early childhood autobiographies in Asian American literature: Yan Phou Lee’s When I Was a Boy in China (1887) and Ilhan New’s When I Was a Boy in Korea (1928). It examines how both authors frame childhood through cultural translation and identity politics, countering Western notions of ‘otherness’. Written in distinct historical moments—Lee as a Chinese Educational Mission student in the late Qing era after the Chinese Exclusion Act, and New as a Korean expatriate under Japanese colonial rule—both texts employ English to seek social legitimacy in the United States. Their narratives merge personal memory with national tradition during times of modernization, negotiating the complexities of minority self-definition. Lee uses humor and vivid anecdotes to challenge prejudice and highlight shared human values, while New adopts an ethnographic tone to present a ‘collective childhood’ rooted in Korean culture and universal experience. Together, these works establish an early foundation for Asian American autobiography and reveal how cultural narration became a means of resisting colonial discourse and fostering cross-cultural dialogue
On the Necessity of Constructing Independent Pawning Right Rules Under the Framework of Real Rights
Pawnbroking disputes arising from the exercise of pawning rights are not uncommon in judicial practice, yet the current legal norms have not incorporated the pawning right, a customary real right, into the real rights system. Meanwhile, the Measures for the Administration of Pawnbroking has failed to accurately define the nature of this time-honored transaction custom. As a prevalent customary real right in private lending relationships, pawnbroking activities have prominent usufructuary and security attributes. Therefore, establishing a dedicated legal regime for pawning rights can effectively prevent the improper expansive application of security interest rules, maximize the utilization value of pawned property in circulation, and better meet the financing needs of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and individual residents. Applying the same set of rules to both pawning rights and security interests will only gradually erode the living space of pawning rights. Hence, there is an urgent need to construct a Chinese-characteristic pawning right regime centered on its usufructuary attributes

An Eye-Tracking Study on the Visual Salience of Wayfinding Signage in Chengdu Metro Stations
The rapid development of Chengdu's rail transit system has led to increased passenger volume, posing significant challenges to wayfinding efficiency in high-traffic stations. Employing a mixed-methods approach that includes eye-tracking experiments, field surveys, and participant interviews, this study reveals that viewing height significantly impacts passengers' fixation latency and total judgment time. While the Chengdu Metro's wayfinding signage system demonstrates strong graphic design, the findings identify several issues, including information overload, suboptimal sign placement, and adverse lighting conditions. Consequently, this study recommends optimizing the design and placement of various sign types. Specific suggestions include adjusting the height and angle of hanging signs, enhancing the materials and colors of ground signs, improving the positioning and visual hierarchy of attached signs, and refining the layout and information display of floor-standing signs to ultimately enhance passenger and operational efficiency
Research Advances in Molecular Docking for Screening Antiviral Drugs Against Enteroviruses
Enteroviruses are important pathogens that cause a range of human diseases, including Hand, foot and mouth disease and aseptic meningitis. The traditional development process of antiviral drugs is not only time-consuming and costly but also difficult to cope with various viral mutations. In recent years, with the rapid development of computer-aided drug design technology, molecular docking technology has been widely used in the screening of effective drug components, the discovery of targets for enteroviruses, and the exploration of the action mechanisms of antiviral drugs against enteroviruses. This article reviewed the application of molecular docking technology in the screening of antiviral drugs against enteroviruses, the mechanisms of action of antiviral drugs against enteroviruses, and the identification of targets for antiviral drugs against enteroviruses, aiming to provide a more sufficient rationale for the screening of antiviral drugs against enteroviruses and the development of new drugs
Research on Social Work Intervention to Enhance Resilience of Rural Children in Difficulties Under the Background of Rural Revitalization
Against the strategic backdrop of rural revitalization, this study explores effective pathways for enhancing the resilience of rural children in difficulty to promote their psychological well-being and social adaptation. Utilizing a literature analysis approach, the research systematically examines the influence mechanisms of rural ecological environments on resilience construction, focusing on family, school, and community as core external determinants. Findings indicate that factors such as the prevalence of intergenerational caregiving models, systemic gaps in school-based mental health services, and the inherent "dual nature" of local rural culture significantly impede the development of resilience in these children. Based on these insights, the study proposes a localized social work intervention framework integrating "family function restoration, school ecological support, and community network activation." This research provides a theoretical foundation and practical reference for optimizing the rural child mental health service system, thereby contributing to the broader objectives of talent revitalization and modernized rural governance within the rural revitalization strategy
The Evolving Landscape of Humor Processing: A Scientometric Systematic Review and CiteSpace Analysis (2017–2022)
Brain imaging techniques, with high temporal and spatial resolution, have multiple advantages in monitoring brain activities, so that significant empirical advancements have been documented in the research on humor processing. In addition, CiteSpace has been employed in a number of fields to identify hotspots and emerging trends in scientific literature. In order to update Author and Wang’s (2017) findings, this review conducted an in-depth scientometric analysis of 417 bibliographic records between 2017 and 2022 to demonstrate the bibliographic landscape related closely to the study of humor processing, and to investigate whether new emerging trends have emerged or stabilized between 2017 and 2022. The results showed that there were ten clusters, including theory of mind, gender, humor appreciation, alpha power, intelligence, event-related potential, coronavirus humor, creativity, fMRI, and schizophrenia. Additionally, the results revealed the following four emerging trends: neural basis of humor processing, brain imaging techniques employed in humor processing study, influencing factors of humor processing and humor appreciation. Accordingly, the visualization of humor processing study based on CiteSpace reveals emerging trends and thus providing directions for related research on humor
Elite and Universal: A Study on the Dual Characteristics of the French Engineering Education System---Higher Education Model Integrating Academic Excellence and Industrial Innovation
The French engineering education system occupies a unique position in global higher education, distinguished by its core feature of integrating "elitism" with "universality". Against the backdrop of intensifying global competition in engineering talent cultivation and the reform trends of engineering education worldwide(such as CDIO in the United States and the dual-system in Germany), this study adopts literature research, historical analysis, case study, and comparative research methods to explore the operational mechanisms of the French model. The core argument is that the success of French engineering education lies in its rigorous selection process, solid scientific foundation, close industrial connections, and the cultivation of humanistic and management literacy.Through an analysis of its historical evolution, enrollment and training mechanisms, and quality assurance system, this paper concludes that the French model, which balances elite standards and universal competence, provides valuable insights for engineering education reforms globally
From Engagement to Endurance: A Conceptual Model of Gamification Adoption and Curriculum Misalignment in Higher Education
This research was carried out to highlight the importance of contextualising Gamification in higher education. Despite the fact, that gamification is such a ubiquitous tool employed for student engagement, there is a need for profundity in its application beyond its use as a peripheral or supplementary instructional strategy. This paper presents a theoretical model that aims to establish adoption of gamification along the dimensions of academic culture, institutional support, student motivation, curriculum alignment, faculty competence, and assessment integration. The methodology adopted was a Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) technique to examine these latent variables. Two gamification tools were administered to a sample size of 146 students at a university during the period December 2024 to December 2025 and their experiences were recorded on a 21- item survey. The findings suggest that although the research constructs are internally valid, the empirical findings are constrained due to weak structural relationship with Gamification (R2=0.06). The comparatively stronger association of Academic Culture (r = 0.23), and Institutional Support (r = 0.17) with gamification was found emphasizing the role of organizational climate and leadership endorsement to be salient factors in the success of gamification. Gamification was also found to be confined to engagement-oriented activities that are decoupled from formal learning outcomes and evaluative frameworks largely due to limited faculty agency in curriculum design or assessment reform, thereby constraining the structural integration of game-based elements into core academic processes. The paper contributes to the discourse on educational innovation by highlighting the need to reconceptualise gamification beyond isolated instructional interventions and advocates a curriculum-embedded approach and proves a structural disconnect between institutional innovation narratives and actual classroom integration
