A Study on Developmental Learning in Mathematics

    Get PDF
departmental bulletin pape

Measuring the effectiveness of in-school training to improve workplace inclusion in schools for the blind

    Get PDF
This study examined the effectiveness of an in-school training programme designed to increase the workplace inclusion of teachers working in schools for the blind. Specifically, the study examined whether a sense of belonging and uniqueness improved as a result of participation in the training. In the programme, visually notimpaired teachers wear an eye mask, so that they could understand the inconvenience stem from visual impairment. Twenty-three teachers without visual impairment and five teachers with visual impairment participated in the training. The Work Group Inclusion Measure developed by Chung et al(2020)was used to measure effectiveness of the training. Pre-post comparisons of the training showed that scores on the sense of belonging factor increased in teachers without visual impairment. On the other hand, scores on the sense of belonging factor did not increase for teachers with visual impairments. The scores on the uniqueness factor did not change between before and after training in both sample groups. The open-ended questions on the training revealed that teachers without visual impairments had learned certain lessons, such as the ’sense of direction’ first of all being deprived of their sight. The visually impaired teachers gave statements indicating that they felt a sense of efficacy in cooperative work, such as ’I can be fully engaged in the work if I am given an overview of the whole task and an explanation of the situation’. On the other hand, it became clear that certain improvements were needed to increase the effectiveness of the training.departmental bulletin pape

    Get PDF
departmental bulletin pape

Study on visibility of black and white reversed materials: Analysis of visibility, readability, and reading speed

    Get PDF
In this study, the author compared the readability of regular text materials and positive/negative reversal materials for electronic materials that are often used in online classes. There were three subjective evaluations: visibility, readability, and fatigue. Reading speed was also measured as an objective evaluation. The results as follows; when comparing positive and negative materials, more participants preferred the negative materials. There was no relationship between the type of material(posi- or nega-)and subjective evaluations such as ease of viewing, ease of reading, and degree of fatigue. However, there was some correlation between preference and subjective evaluation. Regarding the relationship between the type of material and reading speed, there was a tendency for negative materials to be slower. The number of words memorized was higher for negative materials, but it is unclear whether this was due to the effect of positive/negative material or the length of viewing time. In addition, future issues such as factors related to preference, ease of viewing, and effects on fatigue were discussed.departmental bulletin pape

Research and study of a museum displaying replicas of parietal art

Replicas of Palaeolithic Parietal art have been made and publicly opened in recent years. Original cave paintings and engravings should have been conservated for the future generations, so we must admit that some caves should be closed to the audience. Significance of Replicas have been increased more and more, and in this article, we are to examine many examples of Altamira, Niaux, Lascaux, Cosquer and Chauvet. Each Replicas have its proper histories and circumstances, and we have pointed out the possibility of art reproductions.departmental bulletin pape

This paper summarizes the OECD's Education 2030 project and discusses the acquisition of agency as a necessary power for children living in an era of VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) has become an issue. Therefore, in this report, with the aim of acquiring agency as a skill, we conducted a classroom practice that aims to maintain and improve children's engagement by providing flow experiences through learning activities. As a method, by repeating flow experiences in class, we aimed to develop classes that would lead to students feeling the fun, interest, and joy of learning, which would lead to self-confidence. The results confirmed that experiencing a flow state in class led to maintaining and improving children's engagement.departmental bulletin pape
