Teachers’ Absenteeism Impact on Students’ Academic Achievement in the Primary Schools of Bissau, Guinea-Bissau
Full text linkThis study investigates the impact of teacher absenteeism on student achievement in Guinea-Bissau's educational sector, focusing on Portuguese and mathematics results of 489 ninth-grade students from seven high schools. It employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from questionnaires and attendance records with qualitative insights from interviews and class observations. The survey results confirmed that among the independent variables in the regression model introduced in this study, teacher absenteeism could have the greatest impact on students' achievement. It was also confirmed that the teacher's salary, the number of pages in the student's notebook, and the student's age can have a significant impact on it.departmental bulletin pape
Naruto University of Education’s Initiative to Prepare Students of the Professional School for Teacher Education to Become Global Teachers: A Report on the “Learning Exchange Program 2024
Full text link本研究は，文化的多様性に対応できるリーダー教員を育成するために鳴門教育大学が企画・実施した「学びの交流プログラム」の成果と課題について取りまとめた．同プログラムは教職大学院の日本人学生（現職経験者）と国際協力機構（JICA）の奨学金で学ぶ留学生（教育関係者）との間でグループワークとして協議し，共通の教育課題を特定し，その現状の把握や改善策・対応策をまとめる活動が実施された．このプログラムの成果と課題の取りまとめには，量的分析（事前事後アンケートによる指標の数値の比較）・質的分析（事後アンケート自由回答，授業展開・授業メモの分析）を用いた．その結果，①日本人学生の異文化間能力の大幅な向上が量的・質的に確認されたこと，②プログラムを継続的に行うことができれば，文化多様性に即応する力を育成する可能性が高まると予想されたこと，③日本人学生・留学生双方がこのようなプログラムの継続的実施を希望していることが確認できた．departmental bulletin pape
Efforts in Science and Mathematics Education in Cameroon: Towards Decent Work Employment
Full text link本研究では，カメルーンの中等理数科教育カリキュラムにおける将来の就労に関連した内容を概観するとともに，学校現場においてそのカリキュラムがどのように実践されているのかを記述し，ディーセント・ワーク就労との可能性を検討した．カメルーンの理数科授業では，カリキュラムにある実生活に関連した５観点の文脈を考慮した状況問題が与えられ，生徒個人が自分の考えを持ち，仲間とコミュニケーションをとり問題解決活動を共同で行うことで，教科に関する能力のみならず，教科横断的汎用能力を育成しようとしていた．departmental bulletin pape
