Expressões da Natureza no Parque Nacional do Araguaia: Processos geoecológicos e diversidade da vida
Get PDFO Parque Nacional do Araguaia (PNA) foi criado sobre as terras insulares da grande ilha fluvial do Bananal, localizada no médio curso do rio Araguaia, nas terras baixas da planície aluvial do Bananal. Ele ocupa a faixa de transição entre os biomas Cerrado e Amazônia, apresentando uma paisagem particularmente rica em biodiversidade. O objetivo deste artigo é descrever as principais expressões do ambiente natural no PNA, contemplando aspectos da geologia, da hidrografia, do clima, dos solos, da flora e fauna. O delineamento dos sistemas ecológicos do parque é importante pois, ajuda a compreender como fatores ambientais podem influenciar as dinâmicas dos grupos sociais para a apropriação e uso do espaço. O estudo conclui que o PNA abriga um patrimônio natural importante, tanto do ponto de vista estético quanto científico, razão pela qual ele deve ser mantido

Entre o Sublime e o Belo: As Representações Estéticas Sobre o Rio Araguaia
Get PDFThe objective of this article is to analyze the aesthetic representations about the Araguaia River. The hypothesis is that the aesthetic narratives on the river, in the nineteenth century until the first half of the twentieth century, were worth the aesthetics of the sublime; after the second half of the twentieth century, when nature became, to use a humanized expression of Anthony Giddens, the aesthetic accounts of the river emphasized bucolic beauty. The reflection on the beautiful and the sublime was based on the writings of Edmund Burke and Emmanuel Kant; on the representation of nature, used texts by Georg Simmel and Keith Thomas. The sources for the analysis of the representations were reports (such as those of Conde de Castelnau, Couto de Magalhães, Jacintho Lacomme and Hermano Ribeiro da Silva) and songs about the Araguaia river (composed by Tião Carreiro e Pardinho, Irmãs Freitas, Marcelo Barra and Amauri Garcia).O objetivo deste artigo é analisar as representações estéticas sobre o Rio Araguaia. A hipótese é que as narrativas de cunho estético sobre o rio, vigentes no século XIX até a primeira metade do século XX, valiam-se da estética do sublime; após a segunda metade do século XX, quando a natureza tornou-se, para utilizar uma expressão de Anthony Giddens, humanizada, os relatos estéticos sobre o rio realçaram a beleza bucólica. A reflexão sobre o belo e o sublime apoiou-se nos textos de Edmund Burke e Emmanuel Kant; sobre a representação da natureza, utilizou textos de Georg Simmel e Keith Thomas. As fontes para a análise das representações foram relatos (como os de Conde de Castelnau, Couto de Magalhães, Jacintho Lacomme e Hermano Ribeiro da Silva) e canções sobre o rio Araguaia (compostas por Tião Carreiro e Pardinho, Irmãs Freitas, Marcelo Barra e Amauri Garcia)
La Historiografía Ambiental Sudcaliforniana y La Sustentabilidad Local
Get PDFEvery history may be consider the daughter of its time and space, we must add if we practice environmental history, especially in regions such as the Baja California peninsula where the long struggle with isolation and aridity, which has woven stories of adaptation, austerity, cunning and greed. This study does not narrate that long history, since we did it in other books and articles. It analyzes the historiographical and conceptual aspects of three lines of research with which we have reconstructed Southern Californian history: fishing, cultivation and trade of nacre and pearls; oasis build by ranchers; and the confrontation of looting and conservation. The environmental history approach supports this analysis, we explain the main theoretical-methodological implications that this historical approach has had in our research. We also discuss the importance of its application in education and environmental policy, in search of regional sustainability.Toda historia es hija de su tiempo y de su espacio, debemos agregar si es que hacemos historia ambiental, especialmente en regiones como la península de Baja California donde el largo batallar con el aislamiento y la aridez, ha tejido historias de adaptación, austeridad, astucia y codicia. Este texto no narra esa larga historia, pues ha sido hecho en otros libros y artículos. Más bien analiza los aspectos historiográficos y conceptuales de tres líneas de investigación con las que hemos abordado la historia sudcaliforniana: pesca, cultivo y comercio de nácar y perlas; rancheros constructores de oasis; y el enfrentamiento del saqueo y la conservación. Dado que el enfoque de la historia ambiental sustenta dicho análisis, precisamos las principales implicaciones teórico-metodológicas que ésta ha tenido en esas líneas de investigación. También reflexionamos sobre la trascendencia de su aplicación en la educación y la política ambientales, en busca de la sustentabilidad regional.
Ser (Tão) Imaginado: História e Natureza na Ocupação da Região de Aragarças (GO)/Barra do Garças (MT)
Get PDFThis article aims to discuss how the process of Barra do Garças occupation (MT) and Aragarças (GO) had in nature a regulatory constraint and a decoy in its different migratory processes. The two municipalities bordering the states of Goiás and Mato Grosso have the confluence of the Garças and Araguaia rivers as a natural frontier, which forms a unique landscape and shows the geomorphological characteristics of the Cerrado: the valley lies between plateaus and depressions, and it is bathed by thermal waters. Such natural features gave the region a particular migratory dynamic. However, the formation of the urban nuclei of the Araguaia Valley may be observed from the perspective of the possibilities of transmutation between migrants and nature, that in the processes of modification, exploration and integration with the local landscape reorganized the living on the banks of the Garças / Araguaia.Este artigo tem como objetivo discorrer sobre como o processo de ocupação de Barra do Garças (MT) e Aragarças (GO) teve na natureza um condicionante regulador e um chamariz nos seus diferentes processos migratórios. Os dois municípios, limítrofes entre os estados de Goiás e Mato Grosso, possuem a confluência dos rios Garças e Araguaia como fronteira natural, o que forma uma paisagem singular e evidencia as características geomorfológicas do Cerrado: o vale fica entre planaltos e depressões, e é banhado por águas termais. Tais características naturais imprimiram à região uma dinâmica migratória particular. Neste sentido, a formação dos núcleos urbanos do Vale do Araguaia pode ser observada a partir da perspectiva das possibilidades de transmutação entre migrantes e natureza, que nos processos de modificação, exploração e integração com a paisagem local reorganizaram o viver às margens do Garças/Araguaia
