THE IMPACT OF EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION ON ORGANISATIONAL COMMITMENT: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF PERMANENT AND OUTSOURCED SOFTWARE ENGINEERS USING MEYER AND ALLEN’S THREE-COMPONENT MODEL
The study examines the impact of permanent employment versus outsourcing on organisational commitment, focusing on three key dimensions: affective, continuance, and normative commitment. The research utilises descriptive statistics and an independent samples t-test to analyse data from 200 employees (100 permanent, 100 outsourced) in a multinational information technology organisation. The results reveal significant differences in commitment levels between permanent and outsourced employees, with permanent employees demonstrating higher levels across all three dimensions. For affective commitment, permanent employees reported a mean score of 4.70, significantly higher than the 2.40 reported by outsourced employees. Similarly, permanent employees exhibited more significant continuance commitment (3.75) and normative commitment (4.59) compared to outsourced employees (2.95 and 2.72, respectively). Low standard errors, high t-values, and significant p-values in hypothesis testing confirm these differences. The effect size analysis further highlights the magnitude of these differences, with Cohen’s d values of 8.356 for affective commitment, 3.652 for continuance commitment, and 9.067 for normative commitment, indicating significant and moderate effects across all dimensions. These findings suggest that permanent employment fosters stronger emotional attachment, a greater sense of obligation, and higher perceived costs of leaving the organisation. In contrast, outsourced employment is associated with lower levels of commitment. The study contributes to understanding how employment type influences employee engagement and loyalty, offering insights for organisational policies to improve retention and foster stronger connections with employees. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION ACROSS LIBYA TO EUROPE: PATTERNS, CHALLENGES AND HUMAN RIGHTS IMPLICATIONS
Illegal migration to Europe often takes place across the Mediterranean Sea or, in some cases, overland in the Italian boundaries and this has been the subject of international news. Many migrants are at risk of serious injury or death while travelling to Europe, and many who have not been granted asylum have also been forced to return to Africa. Libya is the biggest destination for illegal immigrants in Europe. As a result, many migrants have been arrested in Libya, and forced to remain in Libya while the conditions of detention centres remain substandard level. The poor migration-related conditions in detention centres and refugee camps have sparked international outrage. This study analyses the current situation of illegal migration of people from Libya to Europe and examines the migration of migrants who come to Libya to live in or move to Europe through Libya. This study provides compelling reasons why Libya has become a transit and refugee area and what regulations are in place to curb these conditions. The research employed both qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews with migrants and statistical analysis of survey data. The results revealed significant challenges faced by migrants in detention centres, the impact of political instability on migration patterns, and the humanitarian implications of current policies. For best results, two methods were used to analyse these conditions: qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results and key findings were aggregated from interviews based on survey questions, and SPSS software was used for quantitative analysis, with the results described in percentages and frequency. EVOLUTION OF DEMOCRACY: CHALLENGES AND PERSPECTIVES
This paper examined the evolution of democracy, focusing on two pivotal challenges: the rise of populism and the decline in trust in democratic institutions. A robust qualitative methodology was employed, including a comprehensive review of existing literature and case studies from various nations, such as the United States, Brazil, and India. The analysis revealed that populism flourishes in environments marked by diminished public trust, leading to heightened polarization and civic disengagement. Additionally, the decline in trust correlates with economic disparities and institutional shortcomings, making citizens more susceptible to populist rhetoric. These findings underscore the urgent need for strategies aimed at rejuvenating democratic governance, such as enhancing transparency through technological advancements and initiating civic education programs. Such measures are essential for reconnecting citizens with their governments and preserving democratic principles in contemporary society. Article visualizations

FORGING A LIBYAN IDENTITY: THE EVOLUTION AND STRUGGLES OF A DIVERSE NATION
This article examines the origins and evolution of Libyan cultural identity, shaped by diverse historical forces and ongoing internal divisions. Libya's location at the crossroads of the Mediterranean exposed it to successive colonisations by Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, and Arabs over centuries, creating a layered identity. Key aspects include the importance of Islam and Arab culture and regional, tribal, and ethnic diversity. Expression of Libyan identity can be seen in areas like cuisine, music, and traditional arts. However, forging a unified national identity continues to be hindered by tribal/regional affiliations, the legacy of oppression under Gaddafi and instability since the 2011 revolution. The article analyses how Libya's richly diverse heritage and cleavages pose challenges in establishing social cohesion and collective identity. Article visualizations
PRACTICAL GUIDELINES FOR APPLYING THE RACI MODEL IN RECRUITMENT PRACTICES
This article provides practical guidelines for applying the RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) methodology in the context of recruitment. The RACI methodology offers a structured approach to defining roles and responsibilities within a project or process, improving clarity, communication, and accountability. The guidelines outline the steps involved in implementing the RACI methodology in the recruitment process. This includes defining roles and responsibilities, identifying accountable parties, determining consulted individuals, and ensuring informed stakeholders. Clear communication and transparency are emphasized throughout the process to keep stakeholders engaged and informed. The article also highlights the benefits of using the RACI methodology in recruitment, such as clearly defined roles, improved communication, streamlined decision-making, and enhanced collaboration. However, it acknowledges the challenges that organizations may encounter, including role ambiguity, resistance to change, limited stakeholder engagement, inadequate communication, and difficulty in defining accountability. To overcome these challenges, organizations are advised to invest in change management strategies, provide comprehensive training and support, foster open communication channels, and regularly evaluate and refine the implementation of the RACI methodology. By following these practical guidelines and addressing the challenges effectively, organizations can enhance their recruitment processes, ensure the involvement of key stakeholders, and make well-informed hiring decisions. CLIMAT ET FEMME A KINSHASA EN REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO : ETUDE DE LA VULNERABILITE DE L’AGRICULTURE URBAINE DANS LA VALLEE DE LA RIVIERE MAKOKO A KIMBUALA DANS LA COMMUNE DE MONT-NGAFULA / CLIMATE AND WOMEN IN KINSHASA IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: STUDY OF THE VULNERABILITY OF URBAN AGRICULTURE IN THE MAKOKO RIVER VALLEY IN KIMBUALA IN THE COMMUNITY OF MONT-NGAFULA
The objective of this article is twofold. It first studies the urban, environmental and socio-economic vulnerability of urban agriculture in the Makoko River valley in the commune of Mont-Ngafula in the Kimbuala district in the city of Kinshasa. It then analyzes the adaptation and resilience capacities of market gardeners in the face of climatic hazards. Handheld GPS, satellite images, maps were used as field equipment for this study. A survey was conducted from April 5 to 15, 2023 among 65 market gardeners who had responded to a closed questionnaire on urban, environmental, socio-economic vulnerability and on adaptation capacities in the face of climatic hazards. The results made it possible to establish, based on the indicators, the vulnerability profile of market gardeners and urban agriculture in the face of housing pressure, flooding, episodes of heat waves and silting. Today, market gardeners represent a vulnerable group that is perpetually weakened, not only because they are exposed to climatic hazards, but also because of the weakness of their capacity for resilience.
