Construction of a Moral Education Lesson to enhance Self-affirmative Consciousness using an Example of the Story “Fish Hawk living across a Mountain”
This paper points out six factors of a lesson to enhance the self-affirmative consciousness of children showing the example of inter-cultural moral education. The six factors are as follows: 1. Listening method of a learning material, 2. Lesson with perspectives, 3. Cooperative learning, 4. Framework for thinking, 5. Reflection and 6. Assessment of a lesson. They are constructed in the lesson plan of “Mountain where the Fish Hawk Lives” and show how the factors can be active in the process of cooperative learning by students.departmental bulletin pape
Ship Navigation Optimization Technologies with Countermeasures for Sea Conditions and Restriction of Propulsive Power System
The amount of air pollutant, Sox and Nox, emitted by a ship during ocean navigation is regulated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to prevent air pollution on the sea.
The author presented navigation optimization technologies to reduce exhaust gas by adjusting fuel consumption locally during voyages under wave conditions without consideration of tidal or ocean current, as well as restriction of main engine output and safe navigation speed under rough sea conditions.
In this paper, navigation optimization technologies are improved to solve the optimization problem subject to all these additional conditions of the sea and ship operation, corresponding to actual navigation.
Moreover, the effectiveness of expanded optimization technologies is confirmed for several combinations of the above conditions through numerical simulation.departmental bulletin pape
A New Approach to Solve Ship’s Navigation Optimization Problem with Penalty Function for satisfying Restrictions of Nautical Operation
In addition to conventional efforts to reduce the air pollutant Sox and Nox emitted by ships during navigation, it was agreed at the 72nd Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC72) of International Maritime Organization (IMO) held on April, 2018 to endeavor to compretely eliminate greenhouse gases generated in marine transportation such as CO2 as early as possible during the 21st century.1)
The author presented the navigation optimization technologies to reduce exhaust gas by adjusting main engine output locally during voyage under wave conditions and ocean current with limiters to restrict main engine revolution and to prevent dangerous navigation speed under rough sea conditions.2)
In this paper, a new solution method is presented to satisfy the above restrictions of operation with penalty function instead of limiters, and the effect of these methods are compared and evaluated through several cases of numerical simulation.departmental bulletin pape
Comprehensive Understanding of Secondary Education Science through “Environment” Curriculum in a University
Methodologies of science education have changed with the changing times. Although information-oriented society tends to make students away from science, the scientific knowledge and thinking method equipped in secondary education are useful in following daily life and career. We examined whether the curriculum of the Life Environment Engineering Course in Nagasaki Institute of Applied Science can cover many contents of science in secondary education and whether the curriculum is beneficial for teacher training. Our curriculum consists of five disciplines: agricultural meteorology, environmental analytical chemistry, energy conservation technology, biotechnology, and ecology. Their integrated education enables students to learn many contents of high-school science and also interaction among four subjects: physics, chemistry, biology, and geology. Science teachers trained in this curriculum however would have difficulty when teaching existing disciplinary science, but they would exert their conception of nature in the secondary educational subject “the period of integrated study” where interdisciplinary and inquiry learning are encouraged.departmental bulletin pape
High School Commercial Education Considering Enhancement of Language Activity
The Ministry of Education and PISA's survey showed a decline in academic ability on Japanese language matters. This paper summarizes examples of educational practice of information related subjects aimed at enhancing language activities of high school commercial education. To make the language activities more substantial, we found it necessary to enrich the language activity done individually, and, done on my own and with others. Furthermore, we were able to find the effect that new ability was exhibited for students who experienced the classes that aimed to enhance language activities.departmental bulletin pape
A Instruction System for Personal Computer Operation in Senior High-School
In a class that instructs the operation of a personal computer, a teacher projects a screen with a projector, and the student performs operations while comparing it with the screen of their personal computer, in the general. However, frustration arises in both cases in the simultaneous progressive lesson. Because there is a difference in speed between students accustomed to the operation of personal computers and weak students. In addition, the line of sight moves frequently between the projector and the screen of their personal computer, which makes the students more burdensome. Therefore, in this research, improvement of the burden on the students in order to instruct the operation of the personal computer, we develop a system that instructs the target to be operated according to the situation directly in the screen of the student's personal computer.departmental bulletin pape
