Evaluation and Improvement of the Thermal Shock Resistance Strength of Sprayed Coatings
When a thermal sprayed member received a quick cooling, according to analysis by the simplified method, maximum tensile stress occurs on the surface of a sprayed coating. On the other hand, the strength of a sprayed coating was measured by three points bending test method. But a breaking strain was revised by an elastic-perfectly plastic analysis so that load point of a coating caused plasticity transformation. Stress to produce in a coating by a thermal shock added coating residual stress to coating thermal stress, and the coating strength used the value that multiplied a breaking strain by a Young's modulus. Supposed that a coating was broken when thermal stress to produce in a coating exceeded a coating strength, and the strength of a thermal shock resistance of a coating was evaluated under the supposition.
Thermal shock test of thermal sprayed member 80Ni20Cr/SUS304 was done in order to exarnine the supposition. Thermal shock test was done in a condition to receive a quick cooling underwater after having maintained it in 600℃, 800℃, 1000℃, 1200℃ for 5 minutes. The result almost satisfied a supposition about evaluation of the thermal shock resistance strength. On the basis of result of evaluation of a thermal shock resistance, a method of improvement of the thermal shock resistance strength of a sprayed coating was examined. The improvement effect of the thermal shock resistance strength of 80Ni 20Cr sprayed coating showed the result that combination with SUS304 substrate was the best. Combination with NCF 800 H substrate showed good result next. Improvement effect of coating by combination with STBA24 substrate can hardly expect.departmental bulletin pape
High Temperature Sensing Systems--Characteristics of Rechargeable Batteries at High Temperature--
High temperature discharge characteristics were measured at 100℃ for commercial available Nickel Cadmium and Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable batteries. A Nickel Cadmium battery has superior discharge characteristics than a Nickel Metal Hydride battery. A life cycle of rechargeable battery can be estimated by measuring an internal resistance of the battery during charge at room temperature.departmental bulletin pape
Damping of Collective Excitations in a Trapped Bose-Einstein Condensate at Finite Temperatures
We present the theory for low energy collective excitations of a trapped Bose-Einstein condensate which includes the dynamics of thermal quasiparticles. A linearized hydrodynamic description yields the equations expressed in terms of the small density fluctuation δn and velocity potential fluctuation δΦ , which is the generalization of the one given by Morii et al. to the non-uniform case. A expression of the damping rate of low energy collective excitations has been obtained for the higher temperature regime.departmental bulletin pape
The Sino-Japanese Prefixes Kyuu- 'Old' and Shin- 'New' : at the Semantics-Phonology Interface
The present paper discusses the interaction between the semantic properties and the pitch patterns in prefixation in Tokyo Japanese, with particular reference to the Sino-Japanese prefixes kyuu- 'old' and shin- 'new'. In nominal compounding in Tokyo Japanese (N1+N2→〉N₁N₂), as is well known, the second element (N₂) determines the accent pattern of the entire word (N₁N₂). In prefixation, on the other hand, this rule does not always apply. Some [prefix + noun] structures involving kyuu- or some other prefixes do not follow the rule, showing exceptional accent patterns. Analyzing 203 examples, we demonstrate that the exceptional accent patterns pertaining to those prefixed nouns are motivated by the semantic properties of the prefixes and the base nouns. It is also claimed that the prefixed nouns are similar to noun phrases in certain respects, and that especially the structure [kyuu- +noun] has both word-like and phrase-like phonological properties.departmental bulletin pape
Research on the Design, Manufacture and Flight of Gliders for the Birdman Rallies
Based on the studying and manufacturing of the NIAS G-1 glider reported in the former paper, the NIAS G-3 to G-5 gliders were newly designed and manufactured by the students, then the G-5 glider participated in the 22nd Birdman Rally Contest.
Before designing these gliders, a few kinds of studies were carried out such as comparative flight tests of the delta wing typed, swept wing typed and ordinary wing typed gliders as well as wind tunnel tests of some kinds of wing sections.
This paper deals with the details of the studies mentioned above and reports the results of the Birdman Rally Contest.departmental bulletin pape
