We show how CRIS’s hold a key role in facilitating the management and reporting of an institution’s research activities and outputs -- not only do they offer extensive functionality for researchers and research administrators to effectively manage all aspects of their research information, but are also integrating more and more with specialized RDM tools, Institutional Repositories, and other external systems. This paper provides an overview of how CRIS’s have evolved and integrated to become a crucial part of the RDM chain, including the interoperability, registration, linking, and archiving of data

    Extended abstract to be presented at the CRIS2022 conference in Dubrovnik.-- Event programme available at https://cris2022.srce.hr/#section-program42 slides.-- Presentation delivered within the session "Open Science implementation [I]"In this study we use the data of an interorganisational CRIS to identify interdisciplinary research projects in Flanders. Because of the amount and the richness of the data available on the FRIS portal, we were able to combine two approaches to approximate interdisciplinarity, i.e. an organisational approach, based on the degree of diversity of the team of researchers involved in a project, and a cognitive approach, based on the diversity of topics used in the content of the project. With these two approaches we were able to identify a set of research projects that are potentially interdisciplinary in nature. With the proposed mechanism, we can monitor how interdisciplinary research is situated in Flanders and how it evolves over time. Additionally, it can be further developed into a visualisation tool for the FRIS portal to visually mark those projects that are identified as IDR. Despite the fact that this study only focused on the FRIS portal, the proposed methods can easily be applied to other (inter)institutional CRIS systems

Recording available at https://youtu.be/7kZeL1HGK08Our goal is to analyze improvement of scientific performance in a multidimensional outcome space, with a focus on American biomedical research. With the growing diversity of research databases, limiting assessment of scientific productivity to bibliometric measures such as number of publications, impact factor of journals and number of citations, is increasingly challenged. Using a wider range of outcomes, from publications through practice improvements to entrepreneurial outcomes, overcomes many current limitations in the study of research growth. However, combining such heterogeneous datasets raise three challenges: 1. gathering in one common place a variety of data shared as csv, xml or xls files, 2. merging and linking this data, that sometimes overlap, 3. inferring the impact of inclusive practises, that are often missing from the datasets. We would like to present our solution for the first of those challenges, and discuss our leads for the second and third challenges

    24 slides.-- Presented by Jan Dvořák within Session 3 "EOSC-related projects"The progress of the ongoing euroCRIS CERIF Refactoring Pilot project is summarised as a follow-up from the project presentation delivered last May at the CRIS2022 Conference in Dubrovnik. The objectives of the refactoring of the CERIF data model are to keep the strong features of CERIF while at the same time removing the perceived complexity of its data model. This project is an attempt to modernise CERIF ideally involving the community in its further development and fine-tuning. The modularity introduced in the CERIF data model involves having a set of core CERIF entities -- already available for comments on a github repository -- plus a number of modules developed in a decentralised way to ensure the scalability of any future CERIF development. A number of newly introduced CERIF entities in the core model such as agent, activity and resource are finally outlined
