GraspOS: next Generation Research Assessment to Promote Open Science
38 slides.-- Presentation delivered within Session 3 "EOSC-related projects"GraspOS (next Generation Research Assessment to Promote Open Science) is a new project funded under the EOSC umbrella to kick-off on Jan 1st, 2023. The project builds on previous work and aims to promote Responsible Research Assessment by enabling a rewards and recognition system based on a new generation of (qualitative or quantitative) metrics and indicators. GraspOS will develop, assess and put into operation an open and trusted federated infrastructure for next generation research metrics and indicators. Developing an Open Science Assessment Framework (OSAF) is shown as a key project objective. The 18-partner GraspOS project consortium shows again some overlap with the consortia for the other two EOSC projects presented previously, FAIRCORE4EOSC and FAIR-IMPACT
Responding to Faculty Interest in Rapid Publishing During the Pandemic: The Role of interoperable Scholarly Communication Systems at Texas A&M
Extended abstract presented at the CRIS2022 conference in Dubrovnik.-- Event programme available at https://cris2022.srce.hr/#section-program16 slides.-- Presentation delivered within the VIVO Track at CRIS2022In 2019 and 2020, the Office of Scholarly Communications pursued a strategy of enhancing the interoperability of our scholarly communication systems to make the systems more useful to researchers, specifically our repository (DSpace), research information management system (VIVO) and Altmetrics from Digital Science. These systems can be used to “publish” a range of documents, represent the publications on faculty Scholars@TAMU profiles, and collect engagement metrics for the publications. In this talk, we will discuss the needs and interests of faculty, the role played by the library in supporting these projects, and the features of the scholarly communication systems at Texas A&M that allowed all of this to happen, specifically the role of persistent identifiers, a consistent ontology and APIs
European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Developments

FAIRCORE4EOSC: Developing EOSC Core components to enable a FAIR EOSC ecosystem
20 slides.-- Presentation delivered within Session 3 "EOSC-related projects"FAIRCORE4EOSC is a 36-month EU-funded project aimed to enhance FAIRness in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) ecosystem for research data and associated services. Led by the CSC in Finland, the goal of FAIRCORE4EOSC is to contribute to the development of the EOSC Core in areas like persistent identifiers, metadata and ontologies, interoperability and research software. The project's nine Core Components are described, among them the EOSC PID Graph, the EOSC PID Meta Resolver and the EOSC Research Activity Identifier (RAiD) Service. A number of domain-specific case studies in the SSH, Mathematics or Climate Change are also envisioned to co-develop and test these core components. The presentation focuses on one of these case studies, the European Integration of National level services, and explores the role that national CRIS systems are expected to play in its implementation

These systems, also called current research information systems (CRIS), have been described as software for “the aggregation, curation, and utilization of metadata about research activities” in order to produce useful and reliable knowledge about research and to support research institutions in the provision of funding information and reporting. CRIS systems aggregate and process information about projects, results, organizations, persons, infrastructures, equipment, facilities, etc., and they produce indicators and assessment for research management

After a review of the respective websites, it was not possible to identify the type of system, its degree of development and interoperability with other systems, particularly with Institutional Repositories. On the other hand, no studies on the development of CRIS systems in the region were found in the primary sources of information

The digitisation of science and innovation policy has improved our ability to operate large, linked datasets at detailed levels, complementing already available macro-data analyses. Now, the EU Data4RI Policy initiative of the European Commission aims to foster the sharing of Research and Innovation micro-data at European scale. Our goal is to ease and refine data-informed policymaking in the European Research Area
