The sports industry in Kenya continues to grow swiftly and emerge as a vibrant and crowd-pulling phenomenon. However, few studies have been conducted on the critical topic of corporate governance principles and the performance of national sports federations. Thus, the research focused on determining the effect of corporate governance principles on National Sports Federations’ performance in Nairobi City County, Kenya. The objectives included evaluating the effects of transparency, accountability, sustainability, and integrity on National Sports Federations’ performance in Nairobi City County, Kenya. The study variables were anchored in the Stewardship theory, Balanced Scorecard theory, and Stakeholder theory. The research utilized both secondary and primary data. The research utilized a descriptive research design to collect data from a sample of 145 federation members: Head of National Team Coaches, Assistant National Team Coaches, and Technical Directors. Semi-structured questionnaires were utilized for data collection. Self-administered Questionnaires were utilized, employing the drop-off and later pick-up approach. Data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).  Quantitative data collected was analyzed using multiple regression, descriptive analysis, and Correlation analysis. The study found that accountability, transparency, integrity, and sustainability have a significant positive relationship with the performance of national sports federations in Nairobi City County.  Further findings reveal that increased service delivery, customer feedback, employee satisfaction, and financial performance of national sports federations indicate performance. This study recommends the formation of clear corporate governance policies that raise sustainable development in the Kenya sporting sector, federation members to adopt continuous training on best practices of corporate governance, utilize digital platforms for governance practices, national and county government to establish measurable performance indicators to be adopted by national sports federations, consistent monitoring, and evaluation of these performance indicators. These recommendations will help both the national sports federations and the government to increase transparency, accountability, sustainability, and integrity in the sports industry in Kenya

This article chronologically and analytically traces the evolution of the concept of logistics, from its military origins to its integration into contemporary management models, marked by digitalization and globalization. Initially, a tactical function intended to support armies, logistics gradually expanded into the economic sphere, becoming an organizational pillar of companies during the industrial era. Beginning in the 1970s, driven by shifts in demand, oil shocks, and globalization, it transformed into an integrated system: the supply chain, and then into strategic governance via Supply Chain Management. The study highlights three major phases of logistics evolution (separate, integrated, cooperative) and highlights the major impact of industrial revolutions, particularly 4.0 and 5.0, on the redesign of logistics processes. Finally, the analysis presents the technological catalysts (AI, IoT, Big Data, Blockchain, Cloud, exoskeletons) that are today redefining the paradigms of performance, resilience, and logistics sustainability

Healing Addiction at Its Core: Insight into Resolving the Subconscious Drivers of Cravings and Compulsions

Background: Addiction remains a persistent challenge in psychology and neuroscience, with high relapse rates despite various treatments. Conventional models often manage symptoms without addressing the suppressed emotional states and subconscious narratives that sustain compulsive behaviors. This study investigates the impact of restructuring subconscious belief systems through a pioneering methodology: Quantum Leap Technique (QLT), which employs structured linguistic interventions to systematically surface, deconstruct, and replace internal narratives with self-affirming beliefs in combination with an internal locus of control. Methods: Twenty individuals participated in QLT sessions for non-addiction-related concerns, such as self-worth, career challenges, health concerns, and emotional well-being. Despite addiction not being their primary focus, all participants reported significant changes in their relationships with addictive substances and compulsive behaviors. A survey with Likert-scale assessments and open-ended questions evaluated addiction-related experiences post-intervention. Results: Participants reported reduced compulsive behaviors, cravings, and emotional distress, with an increased sense of self-regulation. QLT facilitated shifts in self-narratives, promoting resilience and self-determination. The breadth of addiction types - including substance use, food cravings, and behavioral compulsions - highlights the intervention's broad applicability. Discussion: Findings suggest that addiction is driven by subconscious programming and unresolved trauma rather than solely biochemical dependency. By transforming self-perception and belief systems, QLT facilitated meaningful behavioral change. Limitations include a small sample size and reliance on self-reported data. Future research should explore diverse populations, those actively seeking treatment for these self-destructive behaviors, and objective outcome measures. Conclusion: This study supports language transformation and subconscious restructuring as critical components of addiction recovery, encouraging further research into integrative treatment models that address core belief systems for sustainable healing

A Rare Case of Caecal Desmoid Tumor

Desmoid tumors (DTs) are rare, benign fibroblastic neoplasms with local aggressiveness but no metastatic potential. We report a 16-year-old woman with chronic right lower quadrant pain and an abdominopelvic mass, initially suspected to be a gastrointestinal stromal tumor. Surgical excision confirmed a caecal desmoid tumor. DTs can mimic malignancies, requiring MRI, histopathology, and immunohistochemistry for diagnosis. Treatment varies, with surgery for symptomatic cases and emerging systemic therapies as alternatives. This article aims to raise awareness of these rare tumors in unexpected locations. It highlights the importance of considering DTs in the differential diagnosis of abdominal masses, particularly in young patients, and emphasizes the need for genetic counseling and multidisciplinary management

The objective of this study is an exhaustive investigation of the historiography of America from the discovery until the middle of the 20th century, differentiating the analogies of the original manuscript by Friar Ramón Pané published in 1571, written between 1493 and 1498. This critical study of those parallelism reflects how the native peoples in ancient Caribbean and America prior to the discovery of the New World remained intimately linked to land, sea and sky in an organic topography specific to each family, tribe or nation. This study undertakes a critical look at how the native peoples of the Caribbean antiquity prior to the discovery of the New World were intimately  rooted to land, sea and sky in an organic topography specific to each family, tribe or nation. In our history review, the similarities between the various nations within their own natural geographical environments identify how the original people lived an economy of security in their laws and communities, being absolute owners and integrated into a thaumaturgical and spiritual brotherhood. We found that in a short period of decades that original environment that contributed to the perfection of their mythological and cultural treasures in their own worldview entered into a serious danger from which numerous communities had no escape. In a short period of decades, that original environment which contributed to the perfection of their mythological and cultural treasure in their own worldview entered into a serious danger from which numerous communities had no escape. This study systematizes the ancestral similarities shared between the Caribbean, Yucatan, Florida, Central America and northern South America in their mythological concepts, worldview, suicides and sacrificial deaths according to their traditions and customs within the framework of their own diversities. This tragic historical periodization that fundaments the massive cultural and personal suicide of Caribbean natives is analyzed. During that first decade, the mythology and worldview of the natives was narrated by the hermit of the order of San Jerónimo, Fray Ramón Pané, cementing the history, origin and native Caribbean heritage. This study in its specific geographical area presents Ramón Pané, the author of the first manuscript of America for its historical and anthropological significance still understudied from the perspective of the original natives and their ancestral similarities

This research aims to understand the strategies used in Burundi to reintegrate street children and the rationale behind them. To collect data, we used semi-structured interviews and direct and indirect observations of street children and actors involved in protection. Analysis of the empirical corpus of 46 interviewees enabled us to highlight reintegration strategies surrounded by various challenges, but also opportunities. The repressive approach seems to predominate in this work, and the police and their collaborators often use untimely raids. Repeated exposure to police raids can cause severe trauma to street children, in addition to stress. Many of our interviewees, including social workers, testify that the street children removal program has not been well prepared, as some of them are even unaware of its objectives. The return movements of these children are a sign of resistance and a source of contempt and self-accusation between actors. These results demonstrate the need for differentiated approaches tailored to the specific needs of each child. It is important for Burundian society to be aware of the diversity of these children's backgrounds, and to think of solutions that respond appropriately to their needs

The research presented herein explores the effectiveness of a collaborative teaching approach in enhancing oral proficiency and medical communication in Medical English for non-native speaker students. A case study was conducted at Grigol Robakidze University (GRUNI) with first-year Medical Program (MP) students enrolled in a Medical English course, delivered through a partnership between a non-native speaker instructor and a native English language expert. Unlike a completely new initiative, this course was designed as a continuation of Medical English I, addressing the specific challenges identified during the previous semester. Students had already received prior instruction in Medical English, and their needs were carefully analyzed before implementing the revised course. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, utilizing surveys and interviews to evaluate students' progress, satisfaction, and perceptions of the course. Quantitative data focused on students’ self-assessed proficiency levels and confidence, while qualitative feedback provided deeper insights into their learning experiences. Results indicated significant improvements in students’ confidence and proficiency, with 60% reporting high confidence in presenting medical topics in English after the course. The collaborative teaching model, combining native and non-native instructors, was highly regarded by students (80% considered it very effective). Additionally, students identified reading academic texts and improving oral presentation skills as the most beneficial aspects of the course. The study highlights the value of integrating diverse teaching methodologies to enhance both linguistic skills and communication strategies in medical contexts. Based on student feedback, recommendations include increasing interactive learning opportunities such as role-playing exercises and peer-led discussions to further engage students in real-world medical scenarios

Mehmet Rauf's Novel September: One of the first novels written under the influence of Western literature and its critical analysis

The scientific article aims to analyze the factors provoking betrayal and the origin of remorse and to present psychological portraits of the characters in Mehmed Rauf's acclaimed novel "September", which is considered the first psychological novel in Turkish literature of the Serveti-i-Funun period. The article applies the method of content analysis and critical study of the scientific literature related to the novel itself and the analysis of new tendencies in Turkish literature. Based directly on the novel's text, the article studies the reasons and the source of betrayal, its impact on the characters, and the tormenting feelings caused by remorse. New psychological motives that appear in the novel "September" could be considered as an original phenomenon in Turkish literature in the period around 1900; Though the end of the novel is tragic, the characters of “September” are forgiven for their “misdeeds” as the death of the main heroes purifies their sins. &nbsp
