E-learning and knowledge management: Models and experiences at Tecnológico de Monterrey via the Virtual University and the research chairs program
In this talk, we will describe an e-Learning model that was developed at Tecnológico de Monterrey for delivering graduate and undergraduate level programs as well as corporate training in engineering, business, and education through its ITESM Virtual University. Experiences and lessons learned during the last 25 years of operation in various countries will be summarized including curriculum design, technological platforms, models of interaction, evaluation and other aspects of distance education. In the second part of the talk, we will present a model of knowledge management for handling both contents of e-Learning programs ,as well as research products generated by research groups in a knowledge organization. Experiences with the research groups at Tecnológico de Monterrey called “The Research Chairs Program” will be analyzed.1
