Seasonal and spatial distribution of Brachionus (Pallas, 1966; Eurotatoria: Monogonanta: Brachionidae), a bioindicator of Eutrophication in lake
Abstract Rotifers, especially Brachionus sp., are the major component of zooplankton in Egyptian eutrophic lakes. These species play an important role as bioindicator in these aquatic environments. In present study, twenty-four zooplankton samples were collected and investigated along six stations of southeastern sector of the lake fro
Environmental Management Education for Sustainable Development in Nigeria
A major challenge that has faced the human race the world over, especially since the 1970s, is the myriad of environmental problems arising from man's quest for rapid economic development. Countries worldwide have been developing their national policies on the environment to ensure, among others, that environmental concerns are integrated into the major economic decision-making process. Nigeria's document identifies 21 strategies, including Education, for the implementation of the policy. Environmental management is practically multi-disciplinary in scope and requires the training of professionals that will be equipped with critical and analytical skills to provide both preventive and corrective measures to address all types of environmental problems. Unfortunately, only 31 out of 141 Universities and other 52 degree/HND/NCE awarding tertiary institutions in Nigeria offer environmental management programs. This extremely too low and poor record, partly explains why Nigeria's environmental problems seem difficult to tackle. To effectively implement the policy applying the education strategy, through environmental management education is key. This paper therefore recommends that an appropriate and potent educational curriculum at all levels (i.e. from the primary, through secondary to the tertiary level) would lead to sustainable capacity building through environmental management education for sustainable national development
A Proof Markup Language for Semantic Web Services
Abstract The Semantic Web is being designed to enable automated reasoners to be used as core components in a wide variety of Web applications and services. In order for a client to accept and trust a result produced by perhaps an unfamiliar Web service, the result needs to be accompanied by a justification that is understandable and usable by the client. in this paper, we describe the Proof Markup Language (PML), an interlingua representation for justifications of results produced by Semantic Web services. We also introduce our Inference Web infrastructure that uses PML as the foundation for providing explanations of Web services to end users. We additionally show how PML is critical for and provides the foundation for hybrid reasoning where results are produced cooperatively by multiple reasoners. Our contributions in this paper focus on technological foundations for capturing formal representations of term meaning and justification descriptions thereby facilitating trust and reuse of answers from web agents

Zeros of the Zak transform of totally positive functions
Abstract We study the Zak transform of totally positive (TP) functions. We use the convergence of the Zak transform of TP functions of finite type to prove that the Zak transforms of all TP functions without Gaussian factor in the Fourier transform have only one zero in their fundamental domain of quasi-periodicity. Our proof is based on complex analysis, especially the Theorem of Hurwitz and some real analytic arguments, where we use the connection of TP functions of finite type and exponential B-splines

Research and Reviews: Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis Pharmaceutical Applications of Insilico methods: A Review
ABSTRACT Conventionally, drugs were discovered by synthesizing compounds in a time-consuming multi-step processes against a battery of in vivo biological screens and further investigating the promising candidates for their pharmacokinetic properties, metabolism and potential toxicity. Sophisticated insilico approaches has given a tremendous opportunity to pharmaceutical companies to identify new potential drug targets which in turn affect the accomplishment and time of performing clinical trials for discovering new drug targets. The main goal of this review is to summarize the insilico methods in the areas of drug discovery process with emphasis on identifying drug targets, pharmacology and pharmacokinetics
