A Holistic Solution for Duplicate Entity Identification in Deep Web Data Integration

    Get PDF
Abstract-The proliferation of deep Web offers users a great opportunity to search high-quality information from Web. As a necessary step in deep Web data integration, the goal of duplicate entity identification is to discover the duplicate records from the integrated Web databases for further applications(e.g. price-comparison services). However, most of existing works address this issue only between two data sources, which are not practical to deep Web data integration systems. That is, one duplicate entity matcher trained over two specific Web databases cannot be applied to other Web databases. In addition, the cost of preparing the training set for n Web databases is ۱ ‫ܖ‬ times higher than that for two Web databases. In this paper, we propose a holistic solution to address the new challenges posed by deep Web, whose goal is to build one duplicate entity matcher over multiple Web databases. The extensive experiments on two domains show that the proposed solution is highly effective for deep Web data integration

THE CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF WELDED LINE PIPES IN WET H 2 S ENVIRONMENT

ABSTRACT The corrosion behavior of over-bending and under-bending formed Spiral Submerged Arc Welded (SSAW) steel pipes in NACE solution has been investigated by use of the selfdesigned full-scale corrosion test unit. It indicates that the H 2 S damage of welded pipes characteristics Blister and Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC). The blister number, diameter, and crack number is increasing as the increasing of applied stress. The residual stress of welded pipes has a large effect on the H 2 S corrosion resistance, the tensile residual stress has a detrimental effect, and while the compression residual stress is beneficial to H 2 S corrosion resistance. The damage mechanism of the welded pipes in H 2 S containing solution under the presence of applied stress and residual stress has not only Hydrogen Induced Cracking (HIC), but also Stress Corrosion Cracking, and the applied stress and residual stress promote not only Stress Corrosion Cracking, but also Hydrogen Induced Cracking. The test results reveal that improving pipe's weld surface quality, lowering tensile residual stress, and also control the operating stress are the key measures for controlling the wet H 2 S corrosion of welded steel pipes. Suggestions for selection of line pipes in different service conditions have been made

Introduction A Belleville spring and a diaphragm spring have found wider applications in engineering, such as in metallurgy and mining machinery, automobile, tractor, universal machine, cannon, mine, and nuclear industry, and have been taken a shock absorber, damping device, forced device in clutch and brake, pressure controller in valve, contact in mine, and energy storage device in nuclear industry, and so on (see In the current paper, a study of a Belleville spring and a diaphragm spring is presented. By this research, the theoretical analytic method and the design method of those springs may be obtained. A new mechanical model is proposed first, an

Metal-black scattering centers to enhance light harvesting by thin-film solar cells

Abstract Small metal particles are investigated as scattering centers to increase the effective optical thickness of thin-film solar cells. The particular type of particles used is known as "metal-black", well known as an IR absorber for bolometric infrared detectors. Gold-black was deposited on commercial thin-film solar cells using a thermal evaporator in nitrogen ambient at pressures of ~1 Torr. A broad range of length scales, as revealed by scanning electron microscope images gives rise to effective scattering over a range of wavelengths across the solar spectrum. The solar cell efficiency was determined both as a function of wavelength and for a solar spectrum produced by a Xe lamp and appropriate filters. Up to 20% increase in short-circuit photo-current, and a 5% increase in efficiency at the maximum power point, were observed

Lifetime and Coverage Maximization in Wireless Sensor Networks ⋆

    No full text
Abstract In the considered scenario, a wireless sensor network (WSN) operates in a difficult to reach (or even hostile) environment, and is therefore required to autonomously configure itself and tune its parameters. We investigate techniques that guarantee a good compromise between conflicting requirements: 1) a good coverage of the area, 2) a long lifetime, 3) a good temporal accuracy in classifying the events. Our solution is based on the combination of two complementary techniques. The first one, the wakeup scattering algorithm, iteratively identifies a periodic schedule that keeps the node awake for a limited time, so saving power. In this paper, we consider the global convergence of this algorithm. The second technique is a small overhead distributed algorithm for the synchronization of the nodes, which takes into account the communication delays

Abstract. -Retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF) located unilateral perirenal without aorta involvement is very rare. We report a case of unilateral perirenal fibrosis which was misdiagnosed as malignancy even after biopsy. RPF should be in mind in dealing with perirenal mass
