Hasil pengukuran ini sangat jauh berbeda dengan hasil pengukuran Bank Dunia yang menyebutkan bahwa persentase miskin di Indonesia sebesar 49% atau 108,78 juta jiwa. Perbedaan ini dikarenakan perbedaan indikator yang digunakan untuk mengukur kemiskinan berbeda. Badan Pusat Statistik menggunakan konsep kemampuan memenuhi kebutuhan dasar sedangkan Bank Dunia mengukur kemiskinan dengan paritas kekuatan pembelian, yaitu pendapatan di bawah 2 dollar AS/hari. Strategi untuk mengatasi krisis kemiskinan dapat ditingkatkan melalui peran serta usaha mikro sampai usaha kecil, sebagai penggerak motor perekonomian Indonesia.Kata Kunci : kemiskinan, penduduk, lingkunga
