    Islamic Educational Values in Poetry as Pedagogical Resources for Character Education

    This study examines Islamic educational values embedded in poetry and explores their potential as pedagogical resources for character education. While poetry has often been viewed as an expressive literary form, its educational dimension, particularly within the framework of Islamic education, remains underexplored. This research aims to identify and analyze core Islamic educational values reflected in selected poems and to explain how these values can contribute to character formation. Employing a qualitative library research design, the study uses descriptive-analytical methods to examine poetic texts through the lens of Islamic educational theory. Islamic values in this study are conceptualized as principles related to faith, morality, worship, self-discipline, and social responsibility, which are analyzed through thematic interpretation of poetic language and symbolism. The findings indicate that poetry effectively conveys Islamic educational values in an implicit yet meaningful manner, enabling readers to internalize moral and spiritual teachings through aesthetic experience. Poetry functions not only as a literary artifact but also as a pedagogical medium that integrates cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions of learning. This study contributes to the discourse on Islamic education by highlighting poetry as an alternative pedagogical resource for character education that remains relevant in contemporary educational contexts

    Tradisi Tampung Tawar : Akulturasi Islam Pada Masyarakat Muslim Dayak Ngaju Di Desa Telangkah Kabupaten Katingan

    Tampung tawar merupakan tradisi yang masih dipertahankan secara turun-temurun dan disatukan dengan ajaran agama Islam yang dianut oleh masyarakat muslim Dayak Ngaju di desa Telangkah Kabupaten Katingan. Upacara adat tradisi tampung tawar juga mempunyai relevansi dengan moderasi beragama yang dapat diaktualisasikan dalam kehidupan antar masyarakat Suku dayak. Tampung tawar di desa telangkah merupakan salah satu tradisi yang masih dilestarikan oleh suku dayak yang beragama muslim, maupun kelompok masyarakat dayak ngaju yang masih menganut kepercayaan leluhur yaitu agama Kaharingan/Helo. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Pada awalnya tradisi tampung tawar di desa telangkah merupakan tradisi dari agama helo/kaharingan, yang mana tampung tawar ini masih belum disebut tampung tawar melainkan Kambang Rampai. Kambang Rampai ini merupakan sebuah tradisi yang bertujuan untuk memohon keselamatan kepada dewa dewa agar terhindar dari marabahaya. Setelah agama islam masuk ke Kesultanan Banjar sekaligus ke daerah kekuasaannya termasuk Kalimantan Tengah pada abad ke 16 hingga ahir abad ke 17, melalui hubungan perdagangan dan sosial antara pedagang masyarakat Banjar dengan masyarakat lokal di Kalimantan Tengah. Misalnya, pedagang Banjar yang berdagang di sungai-sungai di Kalimantan Tengah, seperti Kahayan, Katingan, Sebangau, Mendawai, Sampit, dan juga termasuk desa Telangkah Kabupaten Katingan. Mereka membawa serta ajaran Islam dan berinteraksi dengan masyarakat setempat yang mayoritas beragama Helo/Kaharingan.Tampung tawar merupakan tradisi yang masih dipertahankan secara turun-temurun dan disatukan dengan ajaran agama Islam yang dianut oleh masyarakat muslim Dayak Ngaju di desa Telangkah Kabupaten Katingan.     Inventarisasi Tumbuhan Paku pada Biotop Terdedah dan Ternaung di Kawasan Habaring Hurung Palangka Raya

    Kawasan Habaring Hurung merupakan bagian wilayah Taman Nasional Sebangau Kalimantan Tengah. Pada kawasan hutan Habaring Hurung terdapat lokasi ternaung dan terdedah akibat kebakaran hutan. Perbedaan naungan pada lokasi tersebut mengakibatkan perbedaan spesies yang tumbuh di kedua lokasi. Oleh karena itu tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi tumbuhan paku yang hidup di biotop terdedah dan biotop ternaung di kawasan Habaring Hurung Palangka Raya. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Mei 2024. Penentuan lokasi pengambilan data dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah 22 plot berukuran 10 x 10m yang terdiri dari 11 plot lingkungan ternaung dan 11 plot dilingkungan terdedah.Tumbuhan paku yang didapatkan kemudian diidentifikasi menggunakan buku referensi dan media internet dengan membandingkan ciri morfologinyan. Hasil penelitian menujukkan di hutan Habaring Hurung terdapat 4 Ordo, 4 Famili dan 4 genus tumbuhan paku dengan 7 spesies berbeda. Terdapat 4 jenis paku yang berada di biotop ternaung yaitu Stenochlaena palustris, Gleichenia linearis, Nephrolepis bisserata, Nephrolepsis falcata dan 5 jenis tumbuhan paku pada biotop terdedah yaitu, Stenochlaena palustris, Pteris vittata L, Pteris semipinnata L, Nephrolepis exaltata Schoot, Nephrolepsis falcata. Jenis tumbuhan paku Stenochlaena palustris dan Nephrolepsis falcata terdapat dikedua biotop ternaung dan terdedah. Tumbuhan paku memiliki kemampuan hidup di biotop ternaung maupun terdedah tergantung dari toleransi faktor abiotik dan biotik masing-masing jenis. Tumbuhan paku dengan manfaat sebagai sayuran dan tanaman hias dapat di budidayakan dan dikembangkan potensinya agar memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi

    Assessing the levels and prevalence of public speaking anxiety among Indonesian EFL university students

    Research on speaking anxiety among ESL/EFL students has been documented. However, research on speaking anxiety, particularly in the context of public speaking or oral performance at the higher education level, remains underexplored. This research aims to assess the anxiety levels and prevalence of Indonesian EFL university students in public speaking classes. The study involved undergraduate students enrolled in a public speaking class in the fourth semester of the English department at a university in Kediri, Indonesia. A sample (n=51) completed the distributed speaking anxiety survey questionnaire of the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) adapted from Horwitz et al. (1986). The collected data were then statistically analyzed using SPSS. The results show that the EFL university students exhibited varying degrees of anxiety from the lowest to the highest levels: anxious, very relaxed, mildly anxious, and relaxed. The most prevalent anxiety among the EFL university students in public speaking was at a relaxed level. Several factors that affect how much speaking anxiety students feel in English classes include not being interested in the subject, their age, not getting enough practice, and their gender. Findings highlight the need for special support in public speaking classes to assist EFL students in dealing with their anxiety

    Gender Analysis in the Islamic Law-Based Ecofeminism Movement for Ecosystem Protection

    This study analyzes how the principles of Islamic law can be integrated with the ideas of ecofeminism to create more inclusive and sustainable environmental policies. This study uses an intersectional approach with comprehensive literature analysis and gender analysis frameworks to understand how social identity affects women\u27s participation in ecofeminism and environmental protection based on Islamic law principles. The results of the study state that the integration of the principles of ecofeminism and Islamic law has excellent potential to create fair and sustainable environmental policies based on justice (\u27adl), balance (mizan), and responsibility (khalifah). The concept of khalifah affirms the role of humans as custodians of the earth, provides a theological basis to support environmental conservation and inspires collective responsibility, including the role of women as essential agents. Programs that give women access to land and natural resources increase their participation in agriculture and environmental management, reduce poverty, and strengthen their role as agents of change. However, challenges such as resistance from patriarchal communities, lack of financial and technical support, and the need for ongoing education and training must be overcome. Technology also plays a crucial role in supporting inclusive and sustainable environmental policies

    Symbolic Motivation Behind the Branding of “Warung Muslim” as a Religious Identity in Singaraja Bali

    Muslim stalls serve as a symbol that the stalls sell products following Islamic principles and values. The entity of Muslim stalls in Singaraja has significance for Muslim consumers amidst the dominance of Balinese religious and cultural practices, including culinary culture. The study aimed to analyze the symbolic motivation behind the branding of Warung Muslims (Muslim stalls) in Singaraja, Bali. The approach used qualitative descriptive with a case study method. The study showed that the motives and intentions behind the branding of Muslim stalls in Singaraja are to create an identity, target Muslim consumers, fulfill market needs, and build trust. The significance of the symbolism of the entity of Muslim stalls is seen from the aspects of trust and the creation of halal assurance. The finding confirms that the branding of Muslim stalls serves as an identity strategy that represents religious values and answers the need for halal assurance for the Muslim minority in Singaraja, Bali

    This study explores Farid Esack\u27s perspective on religious pluralism through the lens of Wilhelm Dilthey\u27s hermeneutic theory, which emphasizes lived experience (Erlebnis), expression (Ausdruck), and understanding (Verstehen). Esack, a South African Muslim scholar and activist, developed his pluralistic thought in response to experiences of systemic injustice under apartheid and exposure to interfaith dynamics during his education in Pakistan. This research aims to analyze how Esack\u27s personal experiences shaped his theological approach to pluralism and to articulate how his liberative hermeneutics of the Qur\u27an fosters interfaith solidarity and justice. Employing a qualitative, hermeneutic approach, the study interprets Esack\u27s key writings in conjunction with his biographical context. The findings reveal that Esack\u27s conception of pluralism transcends tolerance, emphasizing active recognition and cooperation across religious boundaries as a moral imperative rooted in Islamic teachings. His praxis-based hermeneutics advocate for justice, dignity, and liberation, particularly for the oppressed, offering a transformative model of interfaith engagement. This study contributes to contemporary Islamic discourse on pluralism, justice, and coexistence

    Integration of Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Education Curriculum

    Early Childhood Education (ECE) plays a crucial role in shaping the foundation of a child’s long-term development. Various studies indicate that children who receive early education possess stronger memory retention (Hurt), develop reading abilities between the ages of 4–9 years (Bloom), and have cognitive systems and intellectual processes that differ from those of adults (Piaget). This study employs a literature review method to examine the implementation of Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) within Indonesia’s ECE curriculum. DAP is a holistic learning approach that aligns with children’s cognitive, motor, socio emotional, and linguistic development, emphasizing hands on experiences and social interaction. From the perspective of Tarbiyah Islamiyah, the application of DAP not only aims to optimize child development but also represents an educational trust (amanah) grounded in divine values as reflected in Q.S. Al-Ahqaf [46]:15, which highlights the responsibility of parents to nurture a faithful and righteous generation. Therefore, integrating DAP into the ECE curriculum is expected to enhance the quality of joyful and meaningful learning while fostering children’s character to be well mannered, God conscious, and balanced between their fitrah and intellect. The main recommendations of this study include developing contextual guidelines for DAP implementation and providing continuous training for ECE teachers to integrate DAP principles with Islamic educational values

    Al-Tustari interprets the concept of soul (nafs) in the Islamic tradition with an esoteric approach, referring to three main categories namely, an-Nafs al-Mutmainnah (calm soul), an-Nafs al-Lawwamah (regretful soul), and an-Nafs al-Ammarah (soul that drives to evil). This approach combines the literal (zahir) and inner meanings in interpreting and understanding the Qur`anic verses. This provides a deep spiritual insight into the dynamics of the human soul in its relationship with God and the world. The focus of this study lies on the importance of purifying the soul (tazkiyah an-Nafs) through controlling the passions and increasing spiritual awareness as the core teachings of the Qur`an. This isyari interpretation not only reveals the textual meaning, but also the inner dimensions of the verses that correspond to the practitioners of tasawus. This study emphasizes the relevance of the Sufi approach (isyari) in the development of tafsir studies as well as a guide to increase human spiritual closeness to God

    Pengaruh Pola Asuh dan Metode STIFin terhadap Hasil Belajar Pendidikan Karakter dalam Pembelajaran PKn Siswa Kelas IV SD

    This study investigates the influence of parenting styles and the STIFIn learning method on students\u27 character education outcomes in Civics (PKn) classes at the fourth-grade level. The research employed a quantitative factorial experimental design (2x5) involving 30 students from SDIT Assuryaniyyah, Bekasi. The researchers categorized the sample based on parenting styles (democratic and permissive) and STIFIn personality types (Sensing, Thinking, Intuiting, Feeling, and Instinct). They collected the data through STIFIn tests, parenting style questionnaires, and final learning achievement scores. Using Two-Way ANOVA, the study found a significant main effect of parenting style on learning outcomes (F = 6.808, p = 0.017), with democratic parenting leading to higher scores (M = 89.13) than permissive parenting (M = 84.93). The main effect of the STIFIn type was also significant (F = 5.692, p = 0.003), with the highest scores among students with the Feeling type (M = 92.33). Moreover, a significant interaction was found between parenting style and STIFIn type (F = 3.596, p = 0.023), indicating that the effectiveness of parenting styles varies depending on students\u27 personality types. These findings highlight the importance of aligning parenting approaches and personalized learning strategies based on student personality types to optimize character education outcomes.Kepribadian anak dipengaruhi oleh dua faktor utama, yaitu faktor genetik dan lingkungan. Dalam hal ini, keluarga, khususnya orang tua, memiliki peran krusial sebagai lingkungan pertama yang memberikan dampak besar terhadap pembentukan kepribadian anak. Pola asuh yang diterapkan dalam keluarga sangat menentukan arah perkembangan karakter anak. Terdapat tiga pola asuh utama, yaitu demokratis, otoriter, dan permisif. Pola asuh demokratis memberikan kebebasan dengan tanggung jawab, mendorong anak untuk mandiri dan bertanggung jawab. Pola otoriter ditandai dengan kontrol ketat dan pendekatan yang keras, yang dapat menekan kreativitas anak. Sementara itu, pola permisif memberikan kebebasan penuh tanpa batasan yang jelas, sehingga berpotensi mendorong perilaku menyimpang. Untuk mendukung efektivitas pengasuhan, diperlukan strategi pendidikan yang mencakup keteladanan, pembiasaan, perhatian, nasihat, serta penerapan hukuman secara proporsional. Kombinasi pola asuh dan strategi yang tepat berperan penting dalam menggali potensi belajar siswa, serta membentuk generasi bangsa yang berkarakter positif, unggul, dan adaptif terhadap tantangan zaman sesuai dengan kecerdasan masing-masing individu
