Characteristics of condylar fracture in Dr. Hasan Sadikin Central General Hospital, Bandung from 2020-2024.
Background: Condylar fractures are among the most common mandibular fractures resulting from maxillofacial trauma, primarily caused by traffic accidents, occupational injuries, and sports activities. These fractures can lead to complications such as pain, mandibular deviation, malocclusion, and pathological changes in the temporomandibular joint. This study aims to identify the characteristics of condylar fractures in the Oral Surgery Department of Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung from 2020 to 2024.Method: A retrospective analysis was conducted using medical records of maxillofacial trauma patients. A total of 111 cases were analyzed based on gender, age, occupation, education level, fracture classification, trauma etiology, and management.Result: Results showed that the majority of patients were male (72%), aged 13–24 years (48,6%), students (51,3%), and had a bachelor’s degree as the educational background (49,6%). The AO classification predominantly involved condylar neck fractures (52,3%), with traffic accidents being the leading cause (51,4%). The most common management method was open reduction and interdental wiring (76,6%). Conclusion: These findings highlight the need for targeted road safety education, strict traffic regulations, and improved preventive measures to reduce the incidence of such injuries. Therefore, an effort must be made to improve the completeness of medical record data in order to support more accurate analysis and the implementation of future research involving more comprehensive data collection
The Potency of miRNA 221-3p as a Molecular Biomarker Of Temporomandibular Disoder: Narrative Review
United States. The trigeminal nerve might be the source of orof facial pain. Pain can be difficult to diagnose and treat due to the variability of pain complaints. miRNA 221-3p could be a potential biomarker for pain. Genetic polymorphisms and genetic mutations can lead to changes in the activity of inflammatory mediators, sex hormones, matrix-degrading enzymes, and the immune system, which affect bone remodeling homeostasis in the temporomandibular joint.Method: Scientific databases PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar were searched for articles published between 2013 and 2023 in order to conduct the study. 168 carefully selected publications providing information on possible biomarkers, particularly miRNA 221-3p, were included in the review of the literatureResult: Genetic polymorphisms and genetic mutations can lead to changes in the activity of inflammatory mediators, sex hormones, matrix-degrading enzymes, and the immune system, which affect bone remodeling homeostasis in the temporomandibular joint. In addition, activity changes were also observed in neurotransmitters and pain receptors, which resulted in relatively high pain sensitivity. Thus, this condition also increases susceptibility to TMD. Genetic analysis and biomarkers of temporomandibular disorders may improve sensitivity and specificity measures in diagnosing and treating patients with TMDConclusion: As a multifactorial disease, genetic factors are risk factors for TMD. Genetic polymorphisms and genetic mutations can lead to changes in the activity of inflammatory mediators, sex hormones, matrix-degrading enzymes, and the immune system, which affect bone remodeling homeostasis in the TM

The greater the concentration used, the more effective the antibacterial agent is
The influence of gadgets on language development in early childhood
This study aims to explore the effect of gadgets on language development in early childhood, specifically focusing on three-year-old participants. The digital era, characterized by rapid technological advancement, has significantly influenced daily life, posing challenges for parents as minors can easily gadgets without supervision. The study used qualitative research. The research method employed a case study that involved detailed observation. The data collection is about a single subject or small group, including direct observation of children and interviews with their parents. The CoComelon channel on YouTube was used as a medium for language development in this study. The findings of this research show that gadgets influence the development of language. Participants in this study demonstrated positive impacts, contrasting with the predominantly negative cases observed in Indonesia. The participants in this research are included in the stages of prelinguistic so that the children can get a verb from a show, and it is said repeatedly because the parents have rules for children to discipline based on the theory Piaget as quoted by Gin
Supporting multilingual learners: Parental roles in modern Islamic boarding school
Bilingual and multilingual education programmes are being adopted with increasing frequency by modern Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Indonesia, with the aim of enhancing students’ linguistic abilities and academic performance. This study examines parental involvement in children’s education at multilingual pesantren, with a focus on their roles in supporting language learning and adapting to school language policies. A mixed-methods approach was used to collect data from twenty-five parents via questionnaires and semi-structured in-depth interviews. Grounded theory analysis was then applied using open, axial, and selective coding to identify key themes. The findings reveal five themes: self-development; parental motivation and pride; optimism for future success; emotional support; and parental participation in school activities. Parents view proficiency in Arabic and English as a religious asset and a strategic skill for global engagement. The study highlights the comprehensive nature of parental involvement in multilingual pesantrens and proposes further research into its long-term impact on students' academic and social outcomes
A social semiotic approach to ludonarrative assonance in the discourse of Metal Gear Solid V Series and Ghost of Tsushima
Video game has been in high demand recently and the historical events as the settings of video games in Metal Gear Solid V series and Ghost of Tsushima make the story of the video games more immersive. However, how this video games story and their gameplay system interact are not addressed yet from social semiotic perspective. From this perspective, this study aims to analyze the story of two mentioned video games and how this story can be in balance with its gameplay system. This research also offers an alternative point of view of how narratology and ludology should collaborate in video game discourse. This research used social semiotic approach, applying Kress and van Leeuwen Analysis on moving images and genre analysis by Martin and Rose. The data of this research are video game narratives and gameplay system This study used four steps: collecting, viewing and logging, taking sample, and analyzing the data in collecting and analyzing technique as an adaptation of the multimodal method from Bezemer and Jewitt. The result of this study shows that those selected video games were developed into what Ensslin stated about Mastery-Mentoring-Choice category for the protagonist. The meso-macro level of discourse in two mentioned video games allow the players to upgrade weapons and equipment without disturbing the flows of the story. In Metal Gear Solid V series, the stories flows with orientation-complication-temporary resolution pattern, and the gameplay allow players to upgrade the base because of having main mission to help other nations from colonialism. Meanwhile, in Ghost of Tsushima, the story flows with orientation-complication-resolution pattern and the gameplay allows players only to upgrade character skills because of having main mission to fight the invaders. Future scholars can address the micro-meso analysis in social semiotics and how the video game players make their choices
Artificial Intelligence and the Legal Framework in Preventing Financial Report Manipulation in Indonesia
Financial statement manipulation undermines investor trust and market stability, particularly in Indonesia, where recurring scandals highlight enforcement challenges. This study aims to analyze manipulation techniques, evaluate the dual role of artificial intelligence in detection and perpetration, and propose regulatory enhancements. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with a normative legal perspective, the research examines case studies of Indonesian firms, including PT Kimia Farma and eFishery, using statutory and conceptual analysis. The findings reveal prevalent manipulation methods, such as inventory inflation and related-party transactions, driven by factors outlined in the fraud hexagon theory, including pressure and opportunity. Artificial intelligence enhances detection through anomaly identification but risks enabling sophisticated fraud if unregulated. Weak internal controls and inconsistent legal enforcement exacerbate these issues. The study concludes that mandatory artificial intelligence training for auditors, stricter disclosure requirements, and dedicated oversight bodies are essential to strengthen financial reporting integrity. These measures can foster transparency and accountability in Indonesia’s financial ecosystem. Future research should explore artificial intelligence’s effectiveness in high-growth startups to address evolving fraud dynamics
Misapplication of the Concept of Actual Losses in Pretrial Decision No.113/Pid.Pra/2024/PN.Jkt.Sel
Corruption is a special crime that is different from general crimes because it requires state financial losses as a basic element. Constitutional Court Decision No. 25/PUU-XIV/2016 emphasizes that corruption must be viewed as a material crime, so that the element of real and definite state losses (actual loss) must be proven investigatively. This concept requires an accurate and final calculation of state losses as part of at least two valid pieces of evidence as specified in Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code. This study aims to examine the judge's error in the Pretrial Decision No. 113/Pid.Pra/2024/PN Jkt.Sel, which does not make actual loss a valid piece of evidence in the application of coercive measures against corruption suspects. Using normative research methods through a legal approach and case studies, as well as qualitative analysis, it was found that pretrial judges still use a formal crime approach and accept evidence that does not meet the actual loss standard. This error has implications for legal uncertainty and has the potential to harm the suspect's rights in the criminal process
Electoral Law Innovation to Strengthen Women's Representation in Parliament
In a healthy democratic system, it is important to involve women and men in policy-making and decision-making processes to achieve balance and justice. In Indonesia, despite the requirement for 30% female candidates for parliamentary positions, the representation of women elected remains below this target. This study uses a juridical-normative method with conceptual, legislative, and comparative approaches to answer how to ensure at least 30% female representation in parliament. The findings show that the current electoral system affects the low level of female election success, especially with the plurality voting system that presents significant challenges for women. Currently, Indonesia implements a gender quota as a candidate quota, which only mandates the nomination of 30% of women. However, its implementation has been ineffective as women still struggle to be elected, particularly under the open proportional system. To ensure at least 30% female representation, Indonesia needs to consider adopting a gender quota system like the reserved seat model, as applied in Rwanda, which allocates 30% of parliamentary seats for women, or in Uganda, where seats are specifically allocated for women in each district, thus increasing the chances for women to be elected
