Galley proofs of manuscript for The Stallion King (1960) a revised and shortened version of Balch's Wild Horse (1948). Glenn O. Balch was born at Venus, Texas on December 12, 1902. He was educated at University of Texas, Baylor University and Columbia University. In 1924 he arrived in Idaho to fight forest fires near Glenns Ferry. He stayed in Idaho, making his home in Boise. He wrote children's books and stories for American Boy and Boy's Life. He published books called Riders of the Rio Grane, and Buck Wild
