Extending Feature-Based Detection for Artificial Intelligence
AI text generation is rapidly developing, and, as a result, it is becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate it from human written text. Our base study by Leon Fröhling et al. proposed a feature-based detection model trained on GPT2, GPT3, and Grover data, as well as human-generated text. Our work extends their research by training a modified model with four neural networks on word embeddings, select features from the original study, as well as updated data (GPT3, GPT4, and Grover)
Career Recommender System
Traditional career guidance often relies on generalized advice, human counselors, or further strategies that offer limited personalization. In contrast, employing machine learning-based career recommender systems utilizes data to connect individuals with suitable career paths based on their interests, skills, and industry trends.
This project develops a Career Recommender System using the Field of Study vs. Occupation dataset from Kaggle to analyze key factors such as job satisfaction, industry growth rate, and work-life balance. By integrating methodologies such as natural language processing (NLP), K-Means clustering, and feature engineering, the system filters careers and users to deliver personalized recommendations. The objective of the Career Recommender System is to aid individuals in taking a step towards making more informed career decisions
Filling Gaps in Publishing Data: New York Times Best Sellers
Continuing my previous work assembling datasets from the New York Times Best Sellers of the year 2023, this project fills gaps in the data with Selenium, a python web scraping tool, to extract missing book details and descriptions. Natural language processing is then applied to build a classification model for assigning genres to each book on the lists based off of their descriptions
Reimagining Love Circle Park: Creating an Engaging and Inclusive Community Experience Through Public Space Design
This public space design project reimagines the user experience of Nashville\u27s historic Love Circle Park, by transforming it into an engaging community space, rebranded as Lumin Hill. Inspired by bioluminescence, Lumin Hill is redesigned to create an immersive, accessible environment, that fosters connection and a sense of wonder
Adapting the Lies of Locke Lamora to Screen
This presentation shows my creative vision for making the novel The Lies of Locke Lamora a TV series. It explores multiple different aspects of the process including casting, visuals, and the reasoning behind why The Lies of Locke Lamora should be brought to the big screen. These reasons combine both structural factors of the story and more emotional aspects such as the deep friendship between the main characters. It also discusses the cultural relevancy of the text. The relevancy includes both personal and political conversations in the boo
Who Can See Your Grades? Understanding FERPA and Student Privacy
Do you know who has access to your education records? FERPA, also known as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, protects student privacy, but many people—students, faculty, and parents—are not fully aware of their rights and responsibilities under this law. Whether you’re a student protecting your personal information such as grades, a professor handling sensitive records, or an administrator ensuring compliance, this presentation will help you navigate the intricacies of FERPA with confidence
