The purpose of this study is to assess the theoretical and empirical implications of how sustainable development influences corporate strategy. The study uses the Scoping method to assess the key issues, priorities, and areas of focus in the research on the influence of sustainable development on corporate strategy in the Nigerian context. The study carries out a systematic literature review and expounds on the research findings with respect to the influence of sustainable development on corporate strategy. The findings show that there are few studies that have focused on the influence of sustainable development on corporate strategy in the Nigerian context. The scarcity of studies raises the questions of whether organisations have internal processes for measuring, recognizing, disclosing, and reporting their actualization of sustainable development. Specifically, the study is interested in how sustainable development influences corporate leadership. The leadership tone of organisations is measured by the board of directors and top management attitude arising from sustainable development. The study proposes an analytical framework to assess the gaps in the literature and how these gaps can be resolved by further studies on sustainable development and corporate strategy especially in the Nigerian context. The policy implications of the study are to provide a means through which managers can identify key issues to incorporate in corporate strategy arising from sustainable development issues. The study recommends that organisations have a clear corporate strategy arising from sustainable development issues. However, the cost of this strategy remains an issue of scholarly debate particularly in the Nigerian context where the busines

Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding: Leadership Strategies for Sustainable Development in Africa

This paper explores the critical role of leadership in conflict resolution and peacebuilding as foundational elements for sustainable development in Africa. Despite the continent's rich resources and potential, persistent conflicts and political instability have significantly hindered progress. Through a comprehensive analysis of various case studies, this paper examines the strategies employed by African leaders to mitigate conflicts and foster peace. It highlights successful leadership approaches that integrate traditional conflict resolution mechanisms with modern diplomatic strategies, emphasising the importance of inclusive governance and community participation. The study identifies key leadership qualities that contribute to effective peacebuilding, such as vision, integrity, empathy, and the ability to mobilise diverse stakeholders toward a common goal. It also underscores the role of regional organisations, such as the African Union (AU) and Regional Economic Communities (RECs); like the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Southern African Development Community (SADC), and East African Community (EAC) in supporting national efforts and providing frameworks for conflict resolution. Additionally, the paper discusses the impact of international partnerships and the support of global institutions in bolstering local peace initiatives. A significant focus is placed on the interplay between leadership, sustainable development, and peace. The study argues that sustainable development in Africa is inextricably linked to the establishment of lasting peace and that visionary leadership is pivotal in navigating the complex socio-political landscapes. By promoting policies that address root causes of conflict, such as poverty, inequality, and resource management, leaders can create environments conducive for development. The study adopts the Transformational Leadership Theory as its framework of analysis. The study generates data using both primary methods through interviews and secondary methods through existing literature such as books, journals, internet sources, etc. The paper concludes with recommendations for policymakers and leaders to adopt holistic and contextspecific strategies for conflict resolution and peacebuilding. It advocates for continuous capacity building, investment in education, and fostering a culture of peace and resilience among African communities

This paper examined the dynamics of domestic politics and China– Nigeria international trade relations. The general objective of this paper was to offer an explanation regarding the dynamics shaping external trade relations between China and Nigeria. The paper adopted a qualitative method of collection, and data were sourced from archival and documentary sources, which included online and print scientific journal articles, and were excluded based on China-Nigeria external trade relations. The study findings revealed that there is significant evidence suggesting that politics at the international and domestic levels are interlinked and have also played a critical role in shaping the trends of trade between Nigeria and China. In conclusion, the paper revealed that politics has had an important role to play in the synthesis of the trends of trade relations between China and Nigeria. The dynamics of these interconnected political factors, therefore, offer a fuller explanation for the existing trade imbalance between both countries, growing trade notwithstanding. The paper therefore recommended that grassroots avenues of China-Nigeria interaction for trade should be created, sustained, and improved both in China and Nigeria

Stability Analysis of Transmission Dynamics of Tuberculosis with Multi-Drug Resistant and Mitigating Measures

Based on the 2024 report from the World Health Organization, tuberculosis continues to pose a global threat. In response to this, we developed a modified five-compartmental SVIMDR model to evaluate the stability of the disease, specifically considering multi-drug-resistant patients, within a feasible human population. The stability analysis was conducted in relation to the reproduction number (R0) using the generalized Hyers Ulam stability, Jacobi method and modified Lyapunov-Volterra stability. The model was validated qualitatively using a modified Banach fixed point theorem and Lipchitz contraction condition approach. To assess the impact of multi-drug resistance on the infection dynamics, two relapse rates were incorporated to check the effect on the model which negatively impacts it. The model was estimated numerically using a modified Adam’s Bashforth predictor-corrector method. The graphical solutions revealed that the introduced inhibitory effect (saturation factor) within the model demonstrated that as saturation increases, the infection become more stable (R0<1). According to the findings in this research, we will have fewer multi-drug-resistant patients provided the saturation factor is implemented properly

Relational Social Capital, Cognitive Social Capital, Structural Social Capital, and Entrepreneurial Success: A Conceptual and Empirical Review

Social capital has been used by many researchers to explain economic issues. Until the early 1980s, research on social capital was not as popular. Today, social capital has become a topical issue that is attracting great research interest, especially amongst entrepreneurship researchers, to explain social and economic outcomes. Entrepreneurship researchers have found different dimensions of social capital useful to access finance (relational social capital), information (cognitive social capital), and market (structural social capital). This paper provides a comprehensive review of the above three dimensions of social capital for a thorough understanding of the concepts and to identify specific aspects of each of the three dimensions that could be applied in entrepreneurial success studies.   Also, a comprehensive empirical review of each of the three dimensions and their effects or relationships with four dimensions of entrepreneurial success, namely profitability, sales growth, customer satisfaction, and competitiveness, is reported to provide background information, especially to researchers in this line of research interest. It is recommended that more researchers should focus their research on social capital and how social capital and its dimensions could be developed and harnessed to enhance entrepreneurial success.                  &nbsp

Investigating the mixture of a benzotriazole and potassium iodide as efficient inhibitor against acid corrosion of 70Cu–30Ni alloy

Industrial heat exchangers and cooling systems usually develop scales on their internal walls, which impede fluid flow, diminish their thermal conductivities and, hence, their efficiencies. Restoring these qualities requires pickling with acid solutions, especially, HCl which forms very soluble products of scales. Without adding efficient corrosion inhibitor chemicals to the pickling solutions, serious corrosion attack on the substrates accompanies the acid pickling process. Identifying prospective corrosion inhibitor chemicals with green environmental profile and high efficiencies becomes imperative for many industries. Herein, we employed weight loss, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) to investigate the mixture of 5–methyl–1H–benzotriazole (5MB) and potassium iodide (KI) as efficient corrosion inhibitor systems for heat exchanger-type alloy (70Cu-30Ni) against corrosion in 1 M HCl solution. The addition of KI boosts the inhibition efficiency of 5MB from ≈74 % to ≈96 %. The 5MB + KI mixture impacts a strong anodic shift in corrosion potential (Ecorr) and boosts the passivation of the alloy. The inhibitor mixture is also very efficient to diminish the extent of surface microstructural degradation of the alloy, based on characterizations by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)

Linking Skill Acquisition with Employee Productivity for Enhanced Project Delivery in Bayelsa State, Nigeria

As the most extensive constituents of human resources for construction projects, construction employees impact the production process in various ways with attendant effects on productivity. Therefore, this survey examines how skill acquisition influences employee productivity as its major determinant with a view towards enhancing delivery of quality project outputs. Data for seventy-five (75) survey participants, selected by convenience sampling (with sixty-two (62) returned valid) and comprising construction professionals (Architects, Builders, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Land Surveyors, Estate Surveyors and Valuers), nonprofessionals (Artisans, Craftsmen and Labour Assistants), and external stakeholders (Clients and End Users) in Bayelsa State, were sourced quantitatively through a questionnaire. SPSS 24 was employed for descriptive analysis of participants' demographic background and inferential statistics for relative significant influence. The results reveal the following dimensions of employee productivity to be primarily impacted: enhanced proficiency – reduce and minimise errors; increased efficiency – perform tasks quickly and accurately; improved quality – equipped for delivery of quality goods and services; engender competitiveness – healthy competition among the workforce; reduced downtime – troubleshoot problems, quick maintenance, minimising downtime; and efficient equipment usage – maximising equipment utilisation (with the last two sharing the same ranking). The study concludes that skill acquisition significantly enhances employee productivity by its capacity to reduce errors, enable faster and more accurate task execution, and ensure consistent delivery of quality outputs. Furthermore, the CPBOs are enjoined to prioritise acquisition of such skills that positively influence these dimensions of employee productivity, then design and adopt complementary training initiatives. Finally, the existing body of knowledge on employee productivity is enriched by examining and revealing its various dimensions influenced by skill acquisition as its major influencer

Bridging Research and Practice in Sustainable Housing for Low-income Earners: A Systematic and Meta Analytic Synthesis

Efforts to secure sustainable housing for low-income earners constitute a persistent challenge in addressing housing deficits, particularly in developing economies. This study systematically examined the current state of research on sustainable housing for low-income communities, identified gaps, and proposed innovative implementation strategies and comprehensive frameworks. The mixed-methods approach (a systematic literature review (SLR) and meta-analysis) was implemented, and the study was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines with the PICOS framework being followed to provide rigor and transparency. The review summarized evidence from 48 peer-reviewed articles published between 2000-2024. Key findings were categorized into six thematic areas: challenges to sustainable housing, innovative strategies, energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, sustainable building materials, and the development of comprehensive frameworks. The governance related barriers, the high initial cost of renewable energy technologies and lack of lifecycle assessment of sustainable building materials were noted as major barriers. The use of public-private partnerships, modular construction, and use of locally available materials proved to show significant potential in increasing sustainable housing provision. This study contributes to literature by consolidating fragmented research and highlighting gaps in empirical findings. The originality of this work lies in its dual methodology, which combines systematic review with meta-analysis to provide a robust and holistic understanding of the factors influencing sustainable housing
