Differences in Cognition of Facial Expression of Nursing Students and Skilled Nurses Using Infant Pictures
Get PDFThis study aimed to identify the differences in facial expression recognition between nursing students and skilled nurses.
Participants included 72 nursing students and 54 skilled nurses. The Japanese I FEEL Pictures test （JIFP） test was used to measure facial expression recognition. The emotions that participants responded to were sorted into corresponding categories for each photograph, and the percentage of correct responses was calculated. Moreover, as a secondary analysis, a false response analysis was conducted for pictures with a correct response rate of less than 20%.
The results revealed differences in recognition ability depending on the picture. Next, for each emotional category, the only significant difference between nursing students and skilled nurses was fatigue. In the secondary analysis, three pictures were extracted that showed a different P response than the JIFP.
Therefore, role awareness was related to the emotional readings of skilled nurses and nursing students,depending on their experience level.departmental bulletin pape
