Making of Keynes’ The General Theory of Employment : A study of the early draft table（1933）
No full text本稿は，『一般理論』の準備過程におけるケインズの目次草稿（1933 年に執筆）について検討する．この目次草稿は，『一般理論』を準備するために，ケインズが覚書として記したものであったが，ケインズの死後1975-76 年に発見され，『ケインズ全集 第29 巻，第13 巻および第14 巻への補遺』の中で2012 年に公表された．ケインズは，『一般理論』において，古典派経済学の公準（Postulate）を退けて，その代わりに彼自身の貨幣経済学の公準に基づく理論を展開した．この目次草稿の中には，古典派経済学の公準とケインズ経済学の公準とがいかに違っているかについて，『一般理論』の完成稿よりも明確に説明されていた．そのような目次草稿の中でも，とりわけ『一般理論』の公準を明らかにした目次草稿に焦点を当てて検討する．J. M. Keynes had studied of his monetary macroeconomics toward the publication of The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money at his Tilton house in Sussex, UK. His family discovered a considerable quantity of additional Keynes papers in the house after Mrs. Keynes moved to a nursing home in the winter of 1975-6. Professor Moggridge examined some important drafts and published them in the Collected Works of J.M.K., vol. ⅩⅩⅨ .
We examine the early draft table closely in order to read the General Theory in our historical perspective. The draft taught us that postulates were quite different between classical economics and the Keynesian monetary macroeconomics.The classical economics supposed tacitly ‘a co-operative economy’ in which each person exchanged their own properties with each other at the costprices and by means of money circulating neutrally.
On the contrary, Keynesian macro-economic model supposed the ‘entrepreneur economy’ in which owners and entrepreneurs of corporations played each separate role in order to maximize thier profits. Monetary factor plays not neutrally but has influential effects to the market process.
The remarkable thesis in the General Theory could be understood on the postulate in the ‘entrepreneur economy’ or ‘the financial capitalism’. The causes of unemployment and financial crisis of 1929-33 could be understood only on the postulate of the financial capitalism. Dichotomy between investment and saving, or real economy and monetary economy could be understood in the framework of the ‘entrepreneur-monetary economy’.departmental bulletin pape
