The Bellevue School of Nursing was the first school to be based on Florence Nightingale\u27s principles and focused on the training of nurses. No full textThis is a letter opener created to commemorate the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Barbara H. Hagan Center for Nursing which took place on June 17, 2014. This letter opener was produced from pewter and stainless steel. It is engraved with the Molloy College emblem, and the groundbreaking date on the shovel handle. Quechua Community Quilt - 3
No full textThis is a Quechua community quilt which was made for a Molloy College alumna after they had assisted in the community hospital following the massive Earthquake which devastated Ecuador. As a gesture of thanks, the community created this quilt with a representation of the alumna and the work they had done in the community. Diuretic Stimulant Pills - 3
No full textThis is a box which once held a sample size of DeWitt\u27s Diuretic Stimulant Pills produced by E.C. DeWitt & Co. located in Chicago, Illinois. The Pills were intended to flush out the bladder wastes that cause physical distress such as backaches, getting up at nights, dizziness, restlessness, and loss of energy. The packaging explains that the user should take one pill before each meal and two at bedtime. If you have obtained benefit from this sample, purchase larger sizes from your druggist, and follow directions on that package. This package points out that A few pills will turn the urine blue or green because of the methylene blue ingredient. This change is a perfectly normal reaction. Additionally, an advertisement about these Pills and other DeWitt products was found inside the sample box.

Portable Oxygen Kit - 1
No full textThis is a portable oxygen kit produced by Mada Medical Products Inc. located in New Jersey. The kit is housed in a wooden box with the words Mada Medical Emergency Oxygen engraved on the outside cover of the box. The oxygen tank is white and spherical shaped with a label which reads Emergency Madasphere Oxygen and a pressure gauge is attached to the top of the sphere. A mask, extension tube, refill adapter #1306 with instructions (not the #109 original stated in the directions), various other metal and rubber pieces (including tank stand), as well as a damaged decal, warranty, advertisement and handwritten notes are all contained in the kit as well.

No full textThis is a Baumanometer: an instrument used to take blood pressure. It was created in Copiague, New York by W.A. Baum Co. Inc. The device still contains mercury but the rubber in the pump and hose has begun to degrade. The device is marked as a 300 model and the inflatable cuff is labeled as a calibrated V-Lok cuff. Propper Microscope - 3
No full textThis is a Propper microscope with a detached illuminator electric light which was used in the Molloy College Biology Lab. The microscope is made from steel and contains a rotating mirror below the stage and three objective lenses on a revolving nose piece. The back of the base is labeled with the number “22” written in red marker and the front side of the tube is engraved with “ Propper No. 52229.” The detached illuminator electric light is marked with the “ M 19” in red marker and a plaque that reads “ Anchor Optical Co. Haddon Heights, N.J.” Both the Propper microscope and illuminator electric light were housed in a Propper Microscope box which also contained a Propper guarantee card.
