Overreaction in a frontier market: Evidence from the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange
The purpose of the study is to investigate the overreaction hypothesis in relation to the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE). The data used in this study consist of a monthly price series of 392 stocks traded on the HOSE, covering the period starting on 5 January 2004 through to 30 June 2021. The findings derived from the tests examining the differences in excess returns across the winner and loser portfolios confirm that the overreaction phenomenon exists in the HOSE. More specifically, following the creations of the portfolios, the loser portfolio outperformed the winner portfolio by 1.80% and 2.17% in the second and third month, respectively. In addition, the differences in cumulative abnormal returns between the loser and winner portfolios were significantly positive for almost all tracking periods. These findings support the hypothesis that the Vietnam stock market is inefficient in its weak form. Based on these results, we suggest that investors can earn abnormal returns by using contrarian trading strategies in the Vietnam stock market.This research received no external funding
Decreasing eyewitnesses vulnerability to the misinformation effect and recognition feedback via reinforced self-affirmation
A Thesis Submitted In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of MASTER OF ARTS in CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY Department of Psychology from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.The misinformation effect and false feedback are two of the most common threats to eyewitness testimony and identification accuracy. Both phenomena are influenced by information presented to witnesses after an event and often include misleading information. Research on a novel procedure, reinforced self-affirmation (RSA), has found evidence to support that a person’s self-confidence can be increased through a process of self-affirmation and positive feedback. With this boost in self-confidence, RSA could allow witnesses to trust their own memories rather than relying on information presented after an event or crime. The current study establishes the validity of RSA as a mediator for decreasing the effects of misinformation and recognition feedback and determines the extent to which confidence is correlated with memory accuracy. The results revealed a main effect for recognition feedback, indicating a significant difference between those who were given false feedback and those who were not given any feedback. However, there was no statistically significant difference between participants who did not receive the RSA procedure and those who did. Similarly, there was no interaction effect found between the two independent variables. A secondary analysis, a mixed-subjects design, was conducted to compute the proportion of correct responses between two memory tests. The results revealed a statistically significant main effect of test, indicating a statistical difference between the proportion of correct responses between the two memory tests. It took a while for automation to become a mainstream part of everyday life, and there were many small steps made towards this goal. Incremental step that we have made towards automating small tasks is a GPS guided unmanned ground vehicle that can eventually be the groundwork for automating many small monotonous tasks. Small ground vehicles can be an extremely dynamic tool in terms of automation. They can assist in hauling, gardening, gathering information, and etc.. There is a nearly limitless amount of tasks that a ground based drone can perform. There are a few setbacks though, how accurate the location system is, what algorithm it uses to move, and battery life. This study will test the accuracy of the drone as well as which algorithm works the best for a real drone. The goal of this paper is to find which algorithm works the best and how accurate is possible within these hardware limitations. The secondary goal is to be employed in farms as a small field hand noting occurrences in the fields. Eventually being outfitted with machine learning and a possible limb to allow for manipulation of its surroundings to allow for the drone to do tasks

Drone2Drone: A search and rescue framework for finding lost UAV swarm agents
UAV swarms have seen widespread use in SAR (Search and Rescue operations). SAR missions are generally defined as exploration problems. Exploration approaches can be used in a wide range of applications [1]. Applications can include searching for an entity in danger or need of medical attention [2] or finding the spread of forest fires [3]. These approaches are labeled as application-specific SAR methods in UAV swarms. However, these do not contribute to the resiliency of the swarm itself.. Resiliency is defined as the ability of a system to withstand disruptions. As a part of multiobjective research toward increasing UAV swarm resiliency, an alternate approach is explored. Efforts towards the development of a Search and Rescue protocol that is directed towards the UAV agents that make up the swarm is underway
