Learning in Adult Nursing Practice I ( Chronic Stage)~ From the analysis of the practical training summary report ~
departmental bulletin pape
Learning Through Role-Playing as a Collaborative Learning Method in Health Counseling Training
Collaborative learning promotes mutually beneficial interactions among group members and fosters a proactive learning attitude. This study conducted a postlesson reflection on how role-playing as a collaborative learning method was used in the context of health counseling, and analyzed the content of the reflection.
The results confirmed that the students’ proactive learning attitude was a result of using role-playing as a method of collaborative learning. Also, role-playing allowed the students to undergo self-reflection and experience psychological dilemmas, which provided them with an opportunity to consider the role of a school nurse and how they should respond in such a role. The study also raised an issue which needs to be addressed, i.e., the need to re-examine the training content in terms of the use of techniques such as counseling skills.departmental bulletin pape
A study on the instruction of conferences in Clinical practicum-fundamental nursing II and the understanding of the Nursing Process
Purpose: This study tried to establish whether having students hold conferences on patient conditions during the clinical practicum, as done in clinical nursing settings, can improve student understanding of the target patients and the nursing process.
Methods: To evaluate the effect of conference instructions, self-rated questionnaire surveys were administered to 13 faculty members in charge of instruction in the basic clinical practicum nursing II course. For the students, a selfrated questionnaire survey was administered to 83 second-year nursing students who had completed the course.
Results: Students who set the theme of the conference in agreement with nursing process were more likely to be aware that the instruction led to an understanding of the target patients and the development of the nursing process.
They felt the necessity of conferences to learn about the nursing process (p < .05). These students gained a sense of accomplishment because the direction of the assistance of the target patients became clear, making it possible to connect the learning to the nursing assistance.
Conclusion: Instruction on set themes of conferences in agreement with nursing processes is eff ective for promoting student understanding of target patients and developing knowledge of the nursing process.departmental bulletin pape

Analysis of Stress Situations of Female Ward Nurses Using the Survey Data on theBrief Job Stress Questionnaire and Avoidant Coping Behavior
Through statistical analysis of survey data, this study aims to reveal the kinds of stressful situations female ward nurses face. The Brief Job Stress
Questionnaire (BJSQ) as an indicator for measuring mental health and questionnaires on avoidant coping behavior were used to survey 990 female ward nurses. The data were examined through two-group comparisons of high and low stressors, stress response, and support, as well as two-group comparisons of high and low total scores for avoidant coping behavior. Moreover, using the covariance structure analysis (structural equation modeling: SEM), the relationship between the BJSQ and avoidant coping behavior was analyzed.
The outcome suggested that when the results of the two-group comparison, based on the high and low stressor, stress response, and support, were combined, those with high stress factors had high stress responses and low support. Conversely, individuals with low stress factors consistently had low stress responses and high support. Next, the group with high scores for avoidant coping behaviors had higher stressors and stronger stress responses, compared to the low scoring group. Support from superiors at work and colleagues were particularly low. In addition, from the SEM, the model including avoidant coping behaviors reported much improved fitness, compared to the conventional MIMIC model. Consequently, this study confirms that analysis from these aspects is useful for the future evaluation of BJSQ data. It also appears that avoidant coping behavior may be a defined indicator of behavioral stress responses in the workplace, in addition to the psychological and physical stress responses in the BJSQ.departmental bulletin pape
