The research team constructed a full-scale testing facility on Ohio State's University's campus to simulate stormwater runoff and sediment loading of a typical roadway construction project. Commonly available manufactured inlet protection products were compared to Ohio Environmental Protection Agency approved practices through a combination of performance and longevity testing. Based on the test results, the research team identified performance measures and material specifications of inlet protection devices to be used in developing a qualified product database and a procedure for assessing future devices. The research team also recommended new and updated inlet protection guidance for incorporation into ODOT's design document

Minutes were signed by Leonard D. Price, temporary secretary and C. W. Weiler, chairman. Item(s) were found in the cornerstone inside a copper box during the demolition of the Brand Whitlock / Albertus Brown Homes at Division Street and Nebraska Street in Toledo, Ohio, in 2012

The performance of lidar methods used by specialty firm Teren were evaluated for their ability to detect 99 inventoried landslides, relative to field inspection surveys. The performance of InSAR methods used by specialty firm EO59 were evaluated for their ability to detect a subset of 15 inventoried landslides, relative to field inspection surveys. Four selected case studies are detailed to showcase the performance of these methods. Ultimately this work is anticipated to support the potential adoption of remote sensing technologies to supplement or substitute current ODOT landslide inventory field surveys. Our research team believes that in the near-term, the integration of lidar-based approaches with the landslide inventory can potentially increase landslide detection reliability and reduce overall costs. InSAR may additionally be considered for either indicating subtle movements for lower risk landslides, or frequently monitoring movements of higher risk landslide

Shared-micromobility is beneficial, in that, it connects with the larger transportation system and increases the value of other available transportation options. Initially, there were mixed views on the adoption of micromobility devices, however many Ohio jurisdictions (cities, villages and townships) quickly recognized their importance as a mode of essential transportation. Jurisdictions moved to regulate micromobility devices by quickly developing regulations or ordinances, albeit taking different approaches. Moreover, local government have flexibility to establish laws in accordance with the powers of local self-government, otherwise known as Home Rule Authority. What this meant is that, there are many variants of legal ordinances/laws and/or different approaches available for regulation - raising concerns such as, how to standardize design of transportation facilities, how to ensure legal and permissible operations for any future deployments, and promoting standardized safety, enforcement, and efficient operations. By completing a series of tasks (detailed review of literature, reviewing and summarizing Ohio's current ordinances, and interviews with select practitioners) this study reconciles the changing regulatory landscape and presents a comprehensive document summarizing information relating to the adoption of micromobility systems within the state of Ohio. Gray & Pape, Inc., conducted a literature review, and the results provide two main conclusions: 1) the rate of success of a geophysical survey increases as more technologies are used; and 2) the more diverse the types of geophysical equipment used on a particular project, the more likely it is that the geophysical surveys will yield quality data that can be used to help guide future decisions. Gray & Pape, Inc., recommends that the ODOT's Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center (UAS) operate the geophysical survey program under a cooperative agreement with OES, and with the support of archaeologists from that office. As an alternative, some LPAs use a mix known as 404LVT, which is a fine-graded recipe mix that is rich in asphalt binder and can be placed at a thickness of 1 inch to correct minor surface distresses. The main goal of this study was to optimize the 2015 404LVT specifications developed by Flexible Pavements of Ohio (FPO) for use by LPAs in Ohio on low-volume local roads. To achieve this objective, information was collected about the current state-of-the-practice for using 404LVT mixes in Ohio. In addition, a laboratory testing plan was designed and executed using materials collected from different asphalt plants across Ohio. This research project also involved evaluating the field condition of pavement sections constructed using 404LVT mixes. Based on the outcome of the laboratory test plan and the pavement condition evaluations, several recommendations were made to improve the performance of 404LVT mixes. In addition, recommendations were made to modify the 404LVT specifications in order to make the mix more cost-effective without compromising its performanc
