Evaluation Of Salt-Tolerant Traditional Rice Varieties in Mekong Delta, Vietnam
This study was carried out from 9/2022 to 2/2023, at Can Tho University, Vietnam. This study evaluated seedling stages’ salt tolerance in nutrient solution using three electrical conductivity (EC) salt concentrations of 9.38, 12.50, and 15.63 dS/m with fifteen traditional rice varieties. Five traditional salt-tolerant rice varieties at the seedling stage (level 5) at 15.63 dS/m were selected. Furthermore, we evaluated salt tolerance at EC 9.38, 12.50, and 15.63 dS/m in the vegetative and reproductive stages of seven rice varieties (a tolerant variety, Doc Phung, a sensitive variety, IR28, and five rice salt-tolerant varieties were selected at seedling stage). This study showed that an increase in EC concentrations in the soil significantly reduced plant height, panicle/plant, panicle length, a 1000 grain weight, and yield. The addition of 9.38 dS/m EC can distinguish tolerance and sensitive genotypes. The grain yield of sensitive genotypes decreased by 90%–100% at 9.38 dS/m EC, whereas the tolerant genotypes showed <60% in grain yield reduction. Selected traditional rice varieties of Nang Cha Ran, Nep Than, Trang Lun, Gie Hanh, and Nang Tich were salt tolerant at their seedling stage and vegetative and reproductive stages were at EC 9.38 dS/m
Proximate Analysis of Biomass
One of the sustainable and renewable energy sources that doesn't produce a lot of greenhouse gas emissions is biomass. Using biomass energy effectively will aid in addressing issues brought on by the use of fossil fuels. The biomass has only issue of low calorific value. For biomass as a fuel the calorific value plays a very crucial role. Five diverse biomass species, such as dried Sugarcane Bagasse, Rice Husk, Cotton Waste, Mango leaves and Coal are represented in this context. Agricultural leftovers, coal, and sugarcane bagasse have all been identified through proximate analysis. In this we calculated (moisture, volatile matter, fixed carbon, and ash contents). Next, a number of empirical equations with linear and nonlinear terms are used. This paper also tells about the thermogravimetric analysis method
A Review on Fabrication and Printing of Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Composite Filaments using FDM Process
This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the fabrication and printing of Carbon Fiber-Reinforced composite filaments using the FDM process. Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) or Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) is an Additive Manufacturing technology that uses the idea of melting the material and depositing it layer by layer. The filament for this is usually prepared by mixing the metal powder in a polymer. The material extrusion method is the preferred way to fabricate the 3D printed filament. In this article, the main processes behind various base polymers and combinations like PLA, ABS and PETG as base polymers and Carbon Fiber-Reinforced PLA, ABS and PETG as fillers have been discussed and various Mechanical Tests are also done by the 3D printed parts like Tensile, Compression, Hardness and Impact Test. It is concluded that the importance of Carbon Fiber composites in various industries, such as aerospace, automotive and consumer goods etc… the need for innovative manufacturing techniques like FDM
Health System for Exercise Rehabilitation Detection Retina Images and IoT Blockchain
Smart Healthcare which is based on deep learning is becoming increasingly popular because of its practical applications and has grown popular after its incorporation with IoT. Degenerative eye disease is the main factor of blindness in people of working age. Asian nations with large populations, like India and China, are on the edge of a diabetes epidemic. In terms of medical screening and diagnosis, a large number of diabetes patients posed a huge problem for skilled clinicians. The idea is to employ deep learning algorithms to detect blind spots in the eye and estimate the severity of the stage. We present an optimum approach for detecting blindness in retinal images based on recently released pre-trained EfficientNet models, as well as a comparative assessment of many innovative neural network models, in this study. On a benchmark dataset of retina images obtained by diagnostic imaging at various imaging phases, our EfficientNet-B5-based model assessment performs better than CNN and ResNet50 models
How Does Studying Online Affect the Well-Being of Students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities?
The current paper aimed to explore the impact of studying online during the coronavirus pandemic on the well-being of a sample of students (n=74) who were classified as students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in five Dubai-based schools. An online 18-item Likert scale survey was developed and distributed among participants; however, this resulted in no statistically significant findings. However, there was a slight negative trend, suggesting that the students’ well-being was somewhat affected by studying alone in an online context. Ultimately, the study recommended the need to provide counselling programs to improve the well-being of the students with SEND due to the circumstances imposed on them by the pandemic; and highlights the need for more support services for these students when they study online
The Psychological Characteristics and Job Satisfaction in Relation to The Happy Workplace of Electrical Industrial Factory Personnel in Pathumthani Province.
The objectives of this research aimed to study 1) the level of significance of psychological characteristics, job satisfaction and happy workplace of electrical industrial factory personnel in Pathumthani Province. 2) To study the relationship between psychological characteristics and happy workplace of electrical industrial factory personnel in Pathumthani Province. 3) To study the relationship between psychological characteristics and job satisfaction of electrical industrial factory personnel in Pathumthani Province. 4) To study the relationship between job satisfaction and happy workplace of electrical industrial factory personnel in Pathumthani Province. The population is the personnel from a total of 191 electrical industrial factories in Pathumthani Province. Using Taro Yamane’s formula, 35 electrical industrial factories were selected to be calculated with unknown population sample size. A sample of 385 personnel with 11 production personnel were purposive sampled from each factory. Statistical tool was questionnaire, and statistics used for analysis were frequency, percentage, mean and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The research had found that: 1) The overall level of significance of psychological characteristics, job satisfaction and happy workplace was found that in general the level of importance was high at average of 3.67, when considered individually, it was found that the highest aspect was happy workplace at average of 3.74, followed by job satisfaction at average of 3.71, and psychological characteristics at average of 3.57. 2) The relationship between psychological characteristics and happy workplace of electrical industrial factory personnel in Pathumtani Province had a high positive correlation (r = .972, Sig <.05). 3) The relationship between psychological characteristics and job satisfaction among electrical plant personnel in Pathumtani Province and electrical industrial factory personnel in Pathumtani Province had a high positive correlation (r = .771, Sig <.05). 4) The relationship between job satisfaction and happy workplace among electrical plant personnel in Pathumthani Province and electrical industrial factory personnel in Pathumtani Province had a high positive correlation (r = .843, Sig <.05)
Environmental, Economic, Social and Health Impacts from the Flood Situation in Kham Riang Sub-district, Kantharawichai District, Maha Sarakham Province, Thailand in 2022
The purpose of this research was to study the environmental, economic, social and health impacts of the flood situation in Kham Riang sub-district, Kantharawichai district, Maha Sarakham province. The sample used in the study were 140 villagers, 10 villagers per village, 14 villages of affected by environmental, economic, social and health impacts of the flood situation in Kham Riang sub-district, Kantharawichai district, Maha Sarakham province, from purposive sampling. The tools used in the study were: 1) interview form for the impact of the flood situation, 2) questionnaire on the impact of the flood situation. Qualitative data were analyed as descriptive. The results of the study showed that :1) Environmental impact from the flood situation, it was found that most of them were damaged in agriculture, for example, the flooding of rice fields and vegetable gardens, resulting in the lack of agricultural products for villagers and lack of income from agriculture. 2) The economic impact from the flood situation was found to affect agricultural crops and made the villagers lose income from their work due to inability to travel to work. And after the flood disaster disappeared must borrow debt borrowing money to repair the house which such villagers has been doing agriculture for the most part by damage to the plantation will fall at 1,750 baht per rai. There were some families relying on agriculture as their main occupation, the next occupation is trading. There are no products to be sold and do not have money to go buy things to resell. 3) Social impact from the flood situation, it was found that most of them were damaged in housing such as doors, windows, home appliances that were broken. The road has been damaged by water erosion, making traffic difficult for a long time, having to use a boat instead of a car to travel. Agricultural crops are damaged, especially the rice fields that were mostly damaged.4) Health impact from the flood situation, it was found that most of them had water allergies, such as biting feet. The cause of water bites is caused by irritation of the skin. Due to wetness and exposure to dirt, various chemicals in flooded areas can cause eczema. The skin looks peeling, especially at the niche of the toes which has a red rash, burning, itching, including causing stress and anxiety in the lives of the villagers in everyday life
EFL Teachers Motivation and Job Satisfaction: A Comparative Study between Private and Public Schools in Erbil
This study examines the motivation and job satisfaction levels of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers in public and private schools in Erbil, Kurdistan/Iraq. The aim is to fill the research gap in local studies specifically focused on applied linguistics. Data was collected using both quantitative and qualitative methods. A questionnaire adapted from previous studies was completed by 200 EFL teachers randomly selected from 93 schools in Erbil. Descriptive and inferential tests were conducted using SPSS version 25. Additionally, interviews were conducted with nine participants from both types of schools and analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that EFL teachers are predominantly intrinsically motivated and enter the profession due to their passion for the field. Private school EFL teachers exhibit higher levels of extrinsic motivation and job satisfaction. Gender and teaching experience positively affect both motivation and job satisfaction, while age is not significantly associated with motivation but does impact job satisfaction. A positive correlation between motivation and job satisfaction is observed. Overall, this study contributes to the understanding of EFL teachers' motivation and job satisfaction in Erbil, with potential implications for educational policies and practices

The study's goal is to lead a complete cross-disciplinary analysis encompassing Plant Science, Management, and Economics, aiming to reveal insight into the intricate relationship between sustainable agricultural practices, economic viability, and environmental preservation. The research issue focuses on identifying viable strategies that harmonize the economic and environmental dimensions of agriculture in arid regions. The exploration of existing studies gives insights into the adoption of innovative technologies, including accurate irrigation systems, drought-resistant crop varieties, and eco-friendly pest management methods. Through the analysis of the gathered data, this study uncovers major patterns and findings regarding the economic feasibility of sustainable practices in arid regions. It integrates the mind-boggling interactions between agricultural efficiency, cost-adequacy, and environmental sustainability. The research culminates in a bunch of recommendations for policymakers, emphasizing the requirement for tailored incentives, information dissemination, and integrated management approaches. In conclusion, this paper highlights the paramount importance of harmonizing economic and environmental dimensions in arid area agriculture through sustainable practices. It also acknowledges the limitations inherent in secondary data analysis and the necessity for further empirical research. The synthesis of insights from Plant Science, Management, and Economics contributes to a holistic understanding of the subject and aligns with the journal's commitment to multidisciplinary research
Differences in Saving and Investment between Men and Women in Luwinga Ward Mzuzu City, Malawi
Saving and investment are important and required for a society. Therefore, this study was conducted to assess the differences in saving and investment between business and working men and women of Luwinga Ward, Mzuzu City. Sample of 100 men and women participated in a structured questionnaire survey. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze the differences that men and women have on the preferences of type of saving and assets ownership. The logistic binary regression was used to determine the factors influencing the saving behavior of men and women. The results showed that gender moderate preferences of saving avenues and asset ownership. There were gender disparities in savings and assets ownership in which men were having long-term savings and also were owning more financial assets compared to the women. It was found that saving behavior between men and women significantly determined by source of income, sex, Marital status, age and education level. The paper recommends the provision of financial literacy and capacity development in making investment decision to women and youth. The paper also recommends economic empowerment through provision of low-interest loans to youth and women to boost their saving and investment behavior. This paper has policy impact in narrowing down gender differentials between men and women in making saving and investment decision that favours national development
