    Affective, Cognitive, and Behavioral Attitudes towards Research in Peruvian University Students

    The affective, cognitive, and behavioral attitudes towards research in students of public and private universities in Peru were analyzed according to socio-academic variables. Methodology. 2448 university students from a public university and 4 private universities participated; intentional sampling was used. In addition, the study was descriptive-comparative, quantitative, and non-experimental. An adequately validated measurement instrument was applied to determine students' attitudes. Results. A moderate level was found in attitudes towards research in university students (mean = 77.06, standard deviation = 12.32, median = 77, ranges from 0 to 140) for both affective and cognitive attitudes found at moderate level observing some assessment of favorable attitude, however, in behavioral attitude the average was low, being valued as unfavorable attitude towards the research.  It is concluded that university students according to the area of health sciences have better attitudes towards research than students of social sciences and engineering; in addition, students of public universities have better cognitive attitudes than private students, as well as are women who present better clarity in the behavioral and cognitive attitude than male students and are the students of the last cycles of study those who value and present a more extraordinary vocation for research than students of the first cycle

    Analysis of the Factors that Affect the Implementation of E-Government in Indonesia

    The research had purpose to investigated further related to the factors which affecting the implementation of e-Government (e-Gov) within the Ministry of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia. This research was designed by the Quantitative-Descriptive method through a causality approach. The sample for this study amounted to 104 respondents who were randomly selected by a simple random sampling technique. The data analysis method used was PLS-SEM to test the research hypothesis. The results strongly suggested that information technology and human resource had significantly positive impact on the implementation of e-Gov, both partially and simultaneously. The findings of this research also demonstrate that the provision of applications related to the main duties and functions of employees is necessary. In addition, solving problems that occur at work also is the most essential thing that should be done in implementing e-Gov

    Technological Competence and Pedagogical Content Knowledge Practices of Junior High School Science Teachers

    The study aimed to assess the technological competence and pedagogical content knowledge practices of Junior High School Science Teachers in Southeast Butuan District 1, Division of Butuan City. A descriptive-correlational design was used, and data were collected from 31 science teachers in the district. A survey questionnaire was administered to assess the participants' level of technological competence in terms of using ICT in teaching, as well as their level of PCK practices in terms of Subject Matter Knowledge (SMK), Instructional Representation Strategies (IRS), Instructional Objective and Context (IOC), and Evaluation of Students Learning (ESU). The Net Agreement Rating (NAR) for their responses on the different areas of TPACK was recorded and cross-tabulated. The findings of the study indicated that the participants demonstrated high levels of technological competence in using ICT in teaching and high levels of PCK practices in relation to SMK, IRS, IOC, and ESU. The study also revealed a moderate positive correlation between the level of technological competence and pedagogical content knowledge practices of the teachers. This suggests that while technological competence may contribute to the enhancement of pedagogical content knowledge practices, there are other factors that can also influence effective teaching. Based on these results, it is recommended that further research be conducted to explore the impact of technology integration on the development of pedagogical content knowledge among teachers. Additionally, identifying other factors that may influence their PCK practices would be beneficial

    Amplifying the Impact of Extension Programs: Empowering Teachers in the Development of Research-Based Instructional Materials

    The training of teachers plays a crucial role in ensuring the provision of quality education. This study aimed to assess the impact of training quality on teachers' capabilities in developing research-based instructional materials (RB-IMD). Specifically, it examined the relationship between the content, nature, and scope of the training attended, as well as the design of learning and assessment within the training, and teachers' proficiency in RB-IMD. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, incorporating qualitative and quantitative methods, to analyze the capabilities of 115 participants in RB-IMD. The findings revealed that the majority of the attended trainings focused on instructional materials and were conducted locally at the participants' school, district, or College of Education. The quality of the training, including its content, nature, and scope, as well as the design of learning and assessment, exhibited a significant positive correlation with teachers' proficiency in RB-IMD. Furthermore, the teachers' capabilities in RB-IMD, including needs analysis, development process, research production fund sourcing, collaboration with users and other experts, research dissemination, and research utilization, showed a significant positive correlation with the quality of training attended across different scopes. These results indicate that the extension program plays a significant role in enhancing teachers' research-based capabilities in developing instructional materials

    Evaluate Environmental Education of Designer: Environmental Responsible Behavior based on Literacy about Zero Waste

    Zero waste is a concept in which the production of an environmentally friendly industry produces zero percent waste. Zero waste among designers is an important thing because it will have an impact on reducing the amount of waste. Environmental education in this case plays a role in providing education for designers so they can reduce waste. The role of environmental education can form Environmental Literacy (EL) and Environmental Responsible Behavior (ERB). The purpose of this study is to evaluate environmental education regarding the relationship between environmental literacy, attitudes towards zero waste, and designer personality with environmentally responsible behavior. The method used in this research is to use a descriptive method with data collection techniques using surveys. The results of this study show that the t-test for t-count > t-table (0.05; 148) 1.790 > 1.65 means that the correlation coefficient between environmental literacy, attitude towards Zero Waste, and personality environmentally responsible behavior is significant. Environmental education in this case plays an important role in increasing environmental literacy so it needs to be strengthened in schools. This study concludes that there is a relationship between various variables. The limitations of this study are the difficulty in obtaining a wider sample and only limited to designers

The research equips teachers with effective strategies and creates opportunities for students to engage in collaborative problem-solving. However, the study is limited by its narrow focus on the specific context of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Future research should explore the adaptability of these methods in diverse cultural and educational settings. To further advance collaborative problem-solving in mathematics education, future research should investigate the effectiveness of these methods across various grade levels and cultural contexts

    It is well known that about 80% of electric fire occurs by arc fault. The arc fault can be generated in loose wire connection or damaged wire, outlets, appliances, extension cords, etc. To mitigate the electric fire, US mandated to use Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters (AFCI) since 2002. Before AFCI has been developed, Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI) were used for prevention of electric shock accident but GFCIs are not able to detect arc fault that is main cause of electric fire. After AFCI requirement of US established, Canada, Europe, New Zealand also adopted the AFCI as mandatory. It is a worldwide trend to mandate AFCI in their countries. We are living in the era of changing from GFCIs to AFCIs. As the demand for AFCIs increases, many studies regarding development of AFCI products and technologies have been conducted but comparison study of operation characteristics of AFCI has not been done yet, thus in this paper we are going to conduct series of arc experiment with several AFCI products and compare their performance

    The Impact of the Use of Soft Power in Social Media on Public Diplomacy for International Co-existence

    Social media has become a game changer fundamentally in the way that it connects citizens, governments, and their ideas and voices across geographical divides. The policy process today requires decision making, feedback mechanisms, and quality input to be successful. Thus, social media presents itself as a quality instrument for incorporating a multitude of ideas, opinions, and voices for different stages of policy processes. This means that citizen engagement, which is crucial in policy making becomes easier via social media. However, social media also presents new challenges for soft power. The fast-paced nature of social media means that misinformation and fake news can quickly spread, which can undermine efforts to build relationships and promote understanding between countries. In addition, some countries use social media to spread propaganda, fake news, and extremist ideologies, which can also damage their soft power. This study examines the impact of the use of soft power in social media on public diplomacy for international co-existence in the context of the Middle East and Africa. The alternate methods of soft power include information and gathering data. For instance, social media is a great source of data and gathering information. Countries can achieve their objectives by attracting and persuading others to adopt their values and interests, rather than through coercion or force. Soft power is the ability to influence others through attraction and persuasion, rather than through threats or payment. The proliferation of social media such as YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter present powerful and new communication tools that are capable of influencing policy decisions by channelizing the political opinions of the masses. The upstart of social media and its engagement with the masses have influenced policy as well as politics which can be demonstrated in the Middle East. The Middle East, for instance, has been rife with regimes that have taken advantage of the region’s cultural, linguistic, and religious connections to shape the political environment. In addition, social media has also given voice to previously marginalized groups, particularly youth, women, and minorities, who have used these platforms to advocate for their rights and amplify their voices. This has created new opportunities for public diplomacy, as governments and civil society organizations can engage with these groups and build relationships with them. This study aims to look at the relationship between social media and public diplomacy and identify opportunities and challenges social media networks pose for international coexistence in the context of past and present events from the perspective of both policymakers and scholars. Furthermore, the public diplomacy process and the use of social media as a soft power have been analyzed through a framework and discussed further for a better understanding of the variables. involved
