    MTL Horizon: Technical Report

    This 25-page report, from Mount Laurel Library (MTL), describes the design and construction of the underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) created by the MTL Horizon team for the Ranger Class of the 2023 MATE ROV competition. MATE ROV is a global competition that challenges STEM students to build underwater ROVs to complete challenges. The competition is split into the following classes based on build complexity: Explorer, Ranger, Pioneer, Navigator, and Scout.The report begins with an abstract introducing MTL Horizon and their ROV followed by a discussion of project management, scheduling, planning, and the use of collaborative workspaces. The design rationale section provides an overview of the design and construction of the team's ROV, highlighting innovation, problem solving, systems approach, vehicle structure, vehicle systems, control/electrical system. Also covered is safety (ROV safety features, safety procedures, etc.), critical analysis (testing and troubleshooting techniques, vehicle testing methodology, etc.), budget and project costing, acknowledgments, and references.     This 25-page report, published by Hephaestus Robotics, Technology & Maritime Transport, describes the design and construction of the underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) created by the Eternal team for the Ranger Class of the 2023 MATE ROV competition. MATE ROV is a global competition that challenges STEM students to build underwater ROVs to complete challenges. The competition is split into the following classes based on build complexity: Explorer, Ranger, Pioneer, Navigator, and Scout.The report begins with an abstract that introduces Hephaestus Robotics and their ROV followed by a discussion of team roles, team organization, and scheduling and planning. MATE ROV is a global competition that challenges STEM students to build underwater ROVs to complete challenges. The competition is split into the following classes based on build complexity: Explorer, Ranger, Pioneer, Navigator, and Scout.The report begins with an abstract introducing the Ambitious Axolotls and their ROV.     MATE ROV Competition 2024: Navigator Class Manual

    This 66-page manual, from the Marine Advanced Technology Education Center, was provided to those competing in the Navigator Class at the MATE ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) 2024 competition. Every year, the "competition challenges students to build a ROV to tackle tasks based on the real world." The competition is divided into the following competition classes: Explorer, Ranger, Pioneer, and Navigator, and Scout. These classes are "based on the level of complexity required to build the vehicle." For 2024, participants of each competition class were challenged to design and build ROVs to complete the following four tasks: OOI: Coastal Pioneer Array, SMART Cables for Ocean Observing, From the Red Sea to Tennessee, MATE Floats!This manual provides all the rules, requirements, and guidelines for teams competing in the Navigator Class of the competition.
