HOUSING SUSTAINABILITY TOWARDS: AN APPROPRIATED COMMUNITY
The research seeks to understand the significance of the Sustainable Housing in different aspects of in the built environment. The author argues to shed light on the housing as an important element in government board agenda. It overlaps with employment, health, education and many other aspects of people lives. It is the key, therefore, to our strategy for tackling social exclusion and achieving our targets for Sustainable Development. The research discusses the social progress as an important factor, which the author believes that it has been left off from the sustainable housing agenda too often in the past. Sustainability should encompass not just fabric of buildings, although that is important, but also what we call ‘the People Factor’. Moreover, housing is sustainable if every one has the opportunity of access a home that is decent, if it promotes Social Cohesion, well-being and self dependence. That is the research aim
Sustainable Architecture and its Importance to the Environment and Human العمارة المستدامة وأهميتها للبيئة والإنسان
The world rapid developments in terms of population growth and the steady increase in the number of people in addition to the energy crisis and the problems resulting from the dramatic energy consumption and their negative effects on the environment pollution, have raised the attention various world countries, whether exporter or importer of energy. Hence, the call will continue to deal with the environment in a more balanced way, especially by planners, architects and designers, to search for alternatives for planning and designing of modern cities by taking advantage of new sources of energy, including natural and renewable energies. Automatic Detection System for Vehicular Heatstroke Prevention
Many children and animals had died from Vehicular Heatstroke every year. According to the “Not Heatstroke organization,” 882 children have died due to pediatric Vehicular Heatstroke since 1998 in just in the US. Vehicle manufacturers have not given this tragic problem the needed attention despite the massive development of the technology of vehicles. Nowadays, the technology of vehicles has been improved by different types of systems such as Anti-Lock Brakes, Electronic Stability Control, Adaptive cruise control, Lane-departure warning system, and Self-parking which assist and protect the driver\u27s life during the trip. In this paper, a comparison between this system and other vehicular heatstroke detection systems will be executed. An automatic vehicular heatstroke detection system will be designed based on an Infrared Array Sensor. This system will detect any child inside the vehicle by using the Infrared Array Sensor “Grid EYE” as soon as the driver leaves the vehicle. After that, the system will activate the light and horn of the vehicle as an alarm. And then, the system will send an SMS to the driver by GSM signal. Finally, the system will send a signal to turn the air condition on only in case there is no response from the driver
Effect of Short-Time BelAgeTM Prescription on Pregnancy and Risk Preeclampsia
Introduction: The aim was to determine if one month taking BelAgeTM in the second trimester of pregnancy could reduce the risk of preeclampsia.
Methods: From April 2019 to July 2020, a non-blinded, prospective, randomized, study was performed inviting women in the second trimester of pregnancy to take 3 g of BelAgeTM once daily for one month. The control group received only the nutritional assessment. Relative risk (RR) to develop preeclampsia with 95% confidence interval (CI) was calculated using the Social Science Statistics online software, considering a significant statistical value a P-value < 0.05.
Results: 144 patients from the BelAgeTM group (mean age 23.6 ± 9.7), and 99 from the control group (mean age 22.1 ± 8.6) were included, finding differences basal systolic blood pressure (P = 0.03), final diastolic blood pressure (P = 0.002) and final mean blood pressure (P = 0.001). Preeclampsia was developed by 18 patients in the BelAgeTM group versus ten patients in the control group, RR 1.2 (95% CI, 0.60–2.57, P = 0.57).
Conclusion: A short-time BelAgeTM prescription in the second trimester of pregnancy was enough to reduce the DBP, but did not reduce the risk of developing preeclampsia.
Keywords: BelAgeTM diastolic blood pressure, preeclampsia, relative risk
