Blog Folio in Blended Learning: a Development of Students’ Information Processing Skills in Digital Age
Paradigm shift in educational context support to instructional innovation, such as online learning, blended learning, and mobile learning. Researcher implemented the blended learning by using blog as portfolios for students. The purpose in this research was to identify the effects of using a blog in blended learning to improve collage student’s information processing skill in virtual environment. The facilitation given to college students in order to familiar with through search, collect, manages, and communicates information in digital age. Research subject is collage students in Development of Innovation Instructional Model course on period January-June 2017 at Educational Technology in Universitas Negeri Padang. This research used three instruments, consist of 1) the rubrics for identify information processing skill, 2) questionnaire for using blog folio, and 3) interview guided about advantages, challenges and obstacles to use a blog in blended learning. The result show that using blog folio can help collage students to improved information processing skills because they understood and tried the steps of that skill. Furthermore, they admitted by using blog folio can increased motivation, participation and give advantages
An Analysis of Managerial Competence of the Madrasah Principals in Islamic Senior High School in Tanah Datar
Based on preliminary observation and research finding in MAN in Tanah Datar, it was found that madrasah which have a good accreditation still have problems concerning with aspects of school management. The purposes of this research were to analyze teachers’ perception toward managerial competence of the madrasah principals in the aspects of the madrasah activities planning, organizing, leadership, actuating, and controlling. The methodology used in this research was mixed method by using the concurrent embedded model. Quantitative data was gotten from teachers of MAN in Tanah Datar while for the qualitative data was gotten from the school principals, vice school principals as well as teachers. Based on the research finding, it was found that in the madrasah activities planning was 82.11%; activities organizing was 79.50%; activities leading was 79.92%; activities actuating was 78.53%; and activities controlling was 81 %. In general, the competence of the madrasah principals of MAN in Tanah Datar was good in all aspect

The Development of Arabic Learning Model by Using Multimedia of Computer at UIN STS Jambi
This research and development result in a learning model that could be used to improve oral communication that was divided into five different learning phase, which is, orientation phase, ordering command phase, role exchange phase, structured practice phase, and guided practice phase. It could also improve one’s understanding of arabic grammar/qawaid (nahwu wa sharfi) which consists of elements in Arabic language that consist of Letters (harf), Words (kalimatu), Sentences (jumlatu), sibhuljumlah and articles (uslub) and fit into Arabic grammar. The result of this study implies that development result study model emphasize in college students’ activities in their learning process. The learning process done by the lecturers using Arabic language as the language of instruction started by the pronunciation of the vocabularies and it’s demonstration without translating it into Bahasa Indonesia. After they were capable of demonstrating the acquired vocabularies, college students trained in reproducing the language orally using question and answer activities, whether structurally, or guided. The study results showed that the quality of this multimedia teaching of Arabic language fall into the ‘fine’ category, acquiring average score of 43.92 and ideal percentage of 87.85%
EFL Teachers’ Perceptions on Supervision Program as a Tool to Develop Teachers’ Professionalism
Teachers hold a very crucial role in education. Students’ success in academic life is very much influenced by teachers’ quality. One of the ways applied by most schools in Indonesia to assure their teachers quality is by conducting supervision program at the end or in the middle of semester. This study investigated teachers’ perception on the effectiveness of supervision program in relation to their professional development. This qualitative case study involved 4 EFL teachers teaching at various school levels; elementary school, junior high school and senior high school. The data were collected through interview and document analysis. The result of data analysis revealed that teachers hold positive attitude toward supervision program in helping them develop their professionalism in teaching. Schools need to maintain supervision program to make sure their teachers are well prepared in performing their duty. The participating teachers suggested for its meaningfulness, supervision program should be well designed. Teachers being observed and supervisor should have the same educational background
The Effect of Communication Games and Self-Esteem towards Students’ Speaking Skill
This research is an experimental research. This study aims to find out the effect of communication games as a teaching strategy and self-esteem toward students speaking skill at SMP Dr. Abd Ahmad PGAI Padang. The population of this research was students of grade VIII SMP Dr. Abd Ahmad PGAI Padang. The technique used is Cluster Random Sampling. The sample consists of students at VIII A as experimental class and VIII B as control class. In this research, the test is used to analize students’ speaking skill and questionnaire was used to collect self-esteem data. Data from the research were analyzed by using two-way t-test and ANOVA (ANOVA 2x2)4. The results of this research were (1) students taught with Communication Game have better speaking skills than students taught by conventional strategies, (2) the speaking skill of students with high self-esteem with Communication Game gives higher results than Conventional teaching strategies, (3) students 'speaking skills with low Self-Esteem with Communication Game gives higher results than conventional teaching strategies, and (4) there is no interaction between strategy and Self-Esteem in transactional text
The Effect of Phrase-Cued Text Strategy on Students’ Reading Comprehension
Reading is an activity to get information from the written text. However, the students still have didifficulty when they read. So,  to solve the students'dstudents' problems, the researchers used Phrase - Cued text (PCT) strategy in teaching reading. The purpose of this research was to know the significant effect of teaching reading by using PCT at the eight grade students of SMPN 2 Harau in 2016/217 academic year. This research was an experimental research. The population of this research was the eight grade students of SMP N 2 Harau in 2016/2017 academic year. There were seven classes of eight grade. The sample of this research chosen by using cluster sampling. The experimental class was VIII.6 had been taught by using PCT and the control class was VIII. 7 had  been taught by using conventional strategy. The instrument of this research was reading test in multiple choice form. It was valid because the students have learnt the material and had been stated in syllabus and based on curriculum. Then,  the instrument was reliable because the coefficient of reliability of split half was 0.78. The researchers analyzed the data by using t-test suggested by Gay et Al. The result of the data analysis was t-calculated (3.97) t-table (2.042) where the level of significant was 0.05 with degree freedom was 38. H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. So,  it can be concluded that there was significant effect of teaching reading by using PCT strategy at the eight grade students of SMP N 2 Harau.So, it is suggested for English teacher to use this PCT strategy in reading lesson
Factors Influencing Students` Pronunciation Mastery at English Department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera
The research is to find the dominant factors influencing students` pronunciation mastery at English department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera. This research is using qualitative research method. Total of participants are 10 English students academic year 2016/2017 in English Department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera who are getting the best mark in pronunciation class. Sample of the research was selected by using purposive sampling technique. The instrument of the research is interview. The purpose of the interview is to get the real arguments about factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery. This research revealed that motivation is the dominant factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery. Most of the students were motivated to increase their pronunciation because they were motivated by native speakers-watching the western or English movies and songs. Besides, they also argued that they wanted to go to overseas so, they should produce the word with correctly pronounced to avoid misunderstanding for both speaker. Based on the data obtained, it can be stated that motivation is the dominant factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery in academic year 2016/2017 at English Department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera
The Development of a Computer Based Education Management Information System (MIS) Model in Elementary School Bandar Lampung
The general objective of the research is to develop a model of a computer-based education management information systems (MIS) in Elementary schools  and the specific objectives were to (1) develop a prototype model of an education MIS computer-based; and (2) to develop the procedure Manual of a computer-based education MIS models. The design of the research was research and development proposed by Borg and Gall. The samples were elementary schools in the city of Bandar Lampung. The research procedure were (1) determining the location of the research, (2) collecting data, (3) designing the initial product and validating to the experts, (4) conducting a seminar in the forum group discussion (FGD), and (5) revising the first design. The result of the product is a prototype model of computer-based education MIS and the manual procedure of computer based education MIS for the elementary school
Problems Faced by the Teacher in Maximizing the Use of Learning Media in Padang
This research aims to find the teacher condition in teaching relating to the use of instructional media. This study used   descriptive qualitative method to gain the data in which the the researcher play his role as the major Instrument and put the teachers as the key informant while the secondary informant is the principal. The results of the research shows that the teachers were satisfied with what he/she has always do, and they feel there is no need to be changed or developed on the pattern of teaching and learning with the help of the media. This research conclude that teachers  assumee that teaching does not suported by various types of media and it make them have lack ability to use the learning media. Finally, this reseach recomend the teacher to change their habbit in using the media while the school leader provide them with opportunities to utilize the media in their teaching process
