    The Development of Statistics Modules for the Students of Islamic Colleges and Universities in South Tapanuli

    This study aims to develop a statistical module for the students of Islamic colleges and universities in South Tapanuli. Research and Development (RD) with Instructional Development Institute (IDI) model was implemented. This research consists of three stages, namely, the front-end analysis stage, the prototype stage, and the assessment stage. The results of the study showed that the statistical module that was designed was valid including content validity and construct. The result also showed the use of statistical modules in the learning process does not experience significant obstacles, in the practical sense of their use according to the assessments of observers and students and lecturers. It indicated that the statistical module has been effective which is shown from the results of observations on the implementation of the learning process, the results of interviews with lecturers and students, as well as higher student learning outcomes using modules in learning

    The Characteristics of the Nature of Science (NOS)-based Instruments in Newton Law Using Rasch Model Analysis

    The objective of this research is to find out the characteristic of each test item with NOS-based instruments which is analysed based on validity and reliability level using Rasch model (RM). A test using NOS-based instruments was used to collect the data. This research is categorized as descriptive with quantitative using statistic from RM through QUEST program. There are 104 students participated as the subject of this research. The result, which is based on validity of each test item using RM analysis, shows that 25 test items are considered fit or accepted. Based on the estimate of item reliability, NOS-based instrument has reliability coefficiency at 0.96. Based on difficulty items 2 test items declared not good, namely test item number 19 and item test number 4. Based on the analysis according to Classic Test Theory of RM, the NOS instrument can be used to measure senior high school students' science literacy on Newton Law

    The Changing of Islamic education curriculum Paradigm in Public Universities

    Since the reformation era, the curriculum of Islamic Education in public universities has gone through such three modifications as Islamic education curriculum of 2000, 2002, and 2013. The objective of this research is to analyze the construction of the three kinds of the curriculum as well as the changing of the paradigm related to them comparatively. The paradigm of Islamic education curriculum 2000 was the continuity of the curriculum in the New Order era which was purely oriented to normative Islamic concepts (aqidah, syari’at, akhlak). In the opposite, Curriculum 2002 indicated many changes in its paradigm and material. Religion was not only a set of norms, but it also existed in reality and it was dynamic in responding the development of human being. Meanwhile, curriculum 2013 tried to emphasize the scientific learning approach by activating the students in building their knowledge. In other words, the learning activity is activity base-oriented, not content base-oriented

    Family Education Efforts in Overcoming Juvenile Delinquency

    This article discusses the education that families provide to children in overcoming various forms of delinquency carried out by juveniles in Karang Tangah village, West Sumatra. It is believed that the family is the main pillar that shapes the personality and attitude of a child. Thus, it really needs attention and primary teaching from the family so that children avoid the influence of technological advances that could have pushed every child (juveniles) involved in various forms of mischief. Along with the times and technology, without us knowing so much it is heard that children or juveniles are involved in mischief’s they are not supposed to do that will only harm themselves. Therefore, this research will describe the various forms of delinquency that juveniles do and of course, there are efforts and efforts of parents in looking after their children. It is hoped that parents can take care of and educate their children well

    The Selection of Outstanding Teachers to the Determination of Ranking on Professional and Intellectual Managerial Performances

    The study aims to analyze the selection of outstanding teachers to the determination ranking on professional and intellectual managerial performances. A qualitative research was used where 91 teachers were selected based on the level of education from kindergarten to secondary school and vocational education.  The results showed there are three data categories of professional and managerial performances of teachers, namely, high, medium and low. The three categories of data describe the various factors that affect the ability of the management professional and intellectual teachers among the demands of interpersonal of the profession, carrying out the task of teaching a high quality produces professional development, encouragement and motivation from leaders in the school, and a special confidence in the development of professional, as well as using the four dimensions (the assessment of emotion-self, appraisal of emotions of others, use of emotion, and emotion regulation) in improving the performance of teachers and the determination of the personal goals of the teacher in the academic achievement

    The Strategy of Madrasah in Developing Civil Society at State Islamic Senior High School III Yogyakarta

    The growth of advanced society gave birth to independent community groups. Therefore, social change needs to be anticipated so that people are not dictated by change and are able to act affirmatively. Madrasah as an Islamic educational institution is very important for Indonesia's future to contribute in building civil society. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively assimilate the madrasah strategy as an Islamic educational institution in building civil society. This is a qualitative research with a qualitative-naturalistic approach by collecting data from literature research as well as field research, the data obtained are then followed by stages, namely description, data reduction, data selection, data analysis, discussion, and conclusions. The results of the study showed the strategies of madrasah as Islamic Education institutions to build civil society, namely (1) Madrasah lays the most rational basis for taking internal and external steps by instilling moral law, unity in diversity, community-based social system, with the aim of improving the positive image of madrasah in the community. (2) The systemic role of madrasah realizes civil society with some program: first, organizing a school’s community service program (SKN) in the established target villages with the aim of appreciating the knowledge taught in madrasah to the community. second, the development of religious social skills, students will acquire life skills by carrying out various activities that have the spirit of Islam in the community: educating students to play an active role in society, introducing madrasah to the outside world in order to build a society that is democratic, religious, tolerance, independent and tough to face internal and global challenges towards civil society

    The Strategy of Forming Religious Characters on the Deaf Children: Study at Special Schools in Rejang Lebong

    The study aims to determine the strategy used in forming religious characters on the deaf children in Elemantary Special School. A qualitative method was used where the data taken from observation, interview and document analysis. The result showed that the learning strategy of Islamic religious education in the development of morals for children with special needs in special schools is by implementing expository strategy, adding hours of study using the habituation method. The finding also showed that the supporting factors in the learning process to form moral guidance are the involvement of school’s principal who is very concern on the development of students’ morals; the teachers who have great patience in dealing with children with special needs. Then, it was also found that there were some inhibiting factors that faced by the school. They were on the absence of a special curriculum for children with special needs, Islamic education teachers who are not teachers who are graduates of special service schools, as well as the lack of supporting facilities as learning media, doing the learning process run monotonously

    The Structure and Function of Oral Poetry Meurukon

    This study aims to describe the structure and function of the oral poetry Meurukon. This research uses a qualitative approach. The source of research data is the text Meurukon edited by Rahman (2010), Harun (2012), text and recording of Meurukon at the 7th Aceh Culture Event (Huda, 2018). The research data are all sequences relating to the structure and function of Meurukon. Data is collected by using the techniques of listening, recording, and reading. The research instrument consisted of handy cam, stationery, and the researchers themselves. Data analysis was conducted through five stages. The stages are carefully and critically reading Meurukon text, sorting data into Meurukon structure and function, analyzing data comprehensively, verifying research results, and concluding research results. The results of the study indicate that the Meurukon structure includes the opening part which consists of greetings and preface. It also includes the content section which consists of discussions on religious issues, especially about bismillah, problems with prayer, water problems, and problems of faith (aqeedah). Then, the structure of Meurokon is the closing that concern on apology and farewell. Last, the Meurukon functions are religious learning, entertainment, and interactive-dialogical learning model

    The Effectiveness of Islamic Education Learning with Creative Worksheets through the Application of Quipper with Facebook Account

    This study aims to determine the significance differences by those who are taught using Quipper through a facebook account in assigning creative worksheets and those who are not taught using Quipper in the field of Islamic education studies. This research method is an experiment with Quasi Nonequivalent control group design. The population was 70 people and the sample was divided into experiment class and control class with a total of 35 people each. The research instrument was the Observation Sheet, Student Learning Outcomes Test in the form of worksheets, questionnaires, study documents, and triangulation. Quantitative data analysis with descriptive and inferential non-parametric statistical techniques Mann Whitney U-Test test. Data analysis was assisted by SPSS application version 24. The results of the study were the use of Quipper School through a Facebook account in assigning creative worksheets to improve the effectiveness of Islamic education learning in SMK Negeri 1 Sengkang meeting the KKM, and there were significant differences between use and not use Quipper School through facebook account in assigning creative worksheets, and in the mann-whitney test, it is known the value of Asymp. Sig. (2- tailed) of 0,000 is smaller than probability value of 0.05 then the hypothesis H0 is rejected H1 is accepted. The next important study is the development of Quipper School media through a Facebook account on strengthening psychomotor competence in the field of Islamic education studies

    Teacher’s Communication Model in Learning Islamic Education for Autism Children

    The communication model in the education process is the main thing—no exception in education for children who experience psychological difficulties such as children. The material, methods, and learning media needed are supported by a useful communication model to help the progress of religious education for autistic children. This study uses teacher communication methods in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI). Data collection uses interviews with the support of documentation in the form of photos, videos, and event support during field monitoring. Relevant research results in the study show that the communication model applied in the teaching of Islamic religion in special autistic school children, Bina Anggita Yogyakarta, uses two models: 1 (one) Direction and 2 (two) Directions. One-way communication is used for children whose verbal ability has not yet appeared. While 2-Way communication is used for autistic children who are able to communicate verbally. Strategies in learning use the concept of one teacher, one child. While education is done using the ABA and PECS methods. This method is useful in training and training students in expressing their desires. Based on the findings in this study, the communication model applied in special autism children development schools can be used as a learning model in other schools that manage autistic children
