    No full text
Pedagogical competency is essential in influencing the growth of EFL students within the educational context. This research aims to analyze the development of EFL students' communicative competence based on technological knowledge in higher education. This research used a descriptive qualitative research method. The numbers of respondents of this study were twenty EFL students by using stratified sample technique from ninety EFL students. The results of the study show what contexts students use to voice their opinions, ranging from talks about general topics (education policy, movies, everyday events) to talks about organizations, lecturing, in-class presentations, public presentations, and the final category, using media technologies (chats, recordings, and video recordings). The students reported feeling comfortable and motivated to engage with media technology. Pedagogical technologies might support EFL students in enhancing their communicative competence. Pedagogical technologies have the potential to motivate students to adopt a self-directed learning style and collaborate to enhance their communicative competence by providing them with access to a learning environment outside of the traditional classroom

This study investigates the satisfaction levels of Thai students from Pattani enrolled in four public universities in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Using a quantitative descriptive method, the research evaluates perceptions of academic service quality across five key dimensions: tangibles, reliability, empathy, responsiveness, and assurance. Data were collected from all 29 Thai students actively enrolled at Andalas University, UIN Padang, UIN Batusangkar, and UIN Bukittinggi through an online Likert-scale questionnaire. The findings reveal overall high satisfaction levels, with variations across institutions: Andalas University scored the highest (4.14), followed by UIN Bukittinggi (3.98), UIN Padang (3.97), and UIN Batusangkar (3.74). While most students expressed positive perceptions, areas such as service convenience, speed, and infrastructure emerged as needing improvement. The study highlights the importance of continuous service evaluation and culturally responsive practices to enhance the academic experiences of international students in Indonesian higher education institutions.

A Bibliometric Analysis of Qur’anic Learning Research in Scopus (1994–2024): Trends, Thematic Shifts, and Institutional Disparities

    No full text
This study presents a bibliometric analysis of Qur’anic learning research, including teaching, learning, and memorization, indexed in Scopus from 1994 to 2024. A total of 120 journal articles and conference papers were examined using descriptive statistics and bibliometric mapping to identify publication trends, influential works, and thematic shifts within the field. The results indicate a steady growth in Qur’anic learning research over the past three decades, with a significant increase after 2009 and a peak in 2021. Indonesia and Malaysia emerge as the most prominent contributors, reflecting strong institutional engagement in Qur’anic education research. The thematic analysis reveals a gradual shift from traditional pedagogical approaches toward more innovative and technology-assisted learning models, including multimedia applications and mobile-based memorization tools. While this study offers a systematic overview of internationally visible research outputs, it also acknowledges a methodological limitation, as reliance on Scopus-indexed publications may overlook a substantial body of unpublished or locally indexed research, particularly within Islamic higher education institutions (PTKI). A notable finding is the disparity in research intensity between general universities (PTU) and PTKI, indicating the influence of structural and policy-related factors on the development of Qur’anic learning research. Overall, this study provides insights for strengthening future research directions and institutional policies related to Qur’anic education

    No full text
This study aims to develop an assessment instrument for Arabic writing skills as a second language using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The instrument was developed based on the Oriondo and Antonio model, with a sample of 248 students who completed a writing test. Data were analyzed using R-Studio software for EFA, CFA, and descriptive statistics. The EFA results revealed one main factor, with eigenvalues and factor loadings above 0.6, indicating a consistent factor structure. In CFA, the four dimensions of writing skills (Ideas and Content, Structure and Organization, Style and Rhetoric, and Language and Grammar) showed excellent results, with factor loadings above 0.7 and adequate fit indices: RMSEA = 0.076, SRMR = 0.045, CFI = 0.922, and TLI = 0.906. Construct validity was reinforced with AVE = 0.669, composite reliability (rho_a) = 0.776, and Cronbach's Alpha of 0.961. Descriptive analysis showed an average writing skills score of 69.18, reflecting students' satisfactory writing ability. This study produces a valid and reliable instrument for assessing Arabic writing skills as a second language in higher education

Based on preliminary observations made by researchers at the three locations of SMAN which have the status of driving schools in Gresik Regency, it shows that there are problems in the economics learning outcomes on national income material in class XI. This information can be seen in the values of TP 2 in the national income material for several students who scored under the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), where there is a minimum score of 75. This study aims to analyze the joint effect of kinesthetic learning styles and student perceptions regarding the variance of the interactional teacher's teaching style on the learning outcomes of students on national income material in driving schools. The population of 3 SMANs with the status of driving schools in Gresik Regency was 432 and then a simple random sampling technique was carried out. The sample used in this study were 144 students using explanatory quantitative methods and using tests, hypotheses, classical assumptions, multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of data processing, the coefficient of determination (R-squared) is 0.94. Thus, it can be concluded that the combined influence of variables X1 and X2 on variable Y is 94%, while 6% is caused by the influence of other variables. Thus it is expected that schools will pay attention to each student's learning style and conduct teacher training to improve the ability of teachers to teach variations so that student learning outcomes are optima

Managing Teacher Competence in Islamic-Based Vocational Education: A Comparative Case Study

    No full text
Teacher competence management is a critical factor in sustaining Islamic-based vocational education, particularly within diverse institutional contexts. This study explores and compares the management of teacher competence development at MAN 1 Samarinda and MAN 1 Langsa, two madrasahs with contrasting structural and contextual conditions. Employing a comparative qualitative approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving madrasah leaders, vocational teachers, and relevant stakeholders. The findings reveal distinctive management patterns. MAN 1 Samarinda applies a structured and systemic model supported by adequate infrastructure, strong industry and university partnerships, and government involvement, enabling continuous professional development and industry-aligned vocational learning. Conversely, MAN 1 Langsa faces limitations in facilities, training access, and industry collaboration; however, it sustains teacher competence development through strong Islamic value orientation, leadership commitment, social capital, and community engagement. Across both contexts, Islamic values function as a foundational framework that shapes leadership practices, curriculum implementation, and teacher professional growth. Key challenges include infrastructural constraints, limited certification opportunities, and uneven industry involvement. Nevertheless, enabling factors—such as visionary and transformational leadership, alumni networks, and university partnerships—mediate these constraints and support adaptive competence development. Based on these findings, this study proposes an integrative management framework that connects Islamic values, leadership, and contextual strategies in developing pedagogical, professional, social, and personality competencies of vocational teachers. This study contributes a value-based and context-sensitive perspective on Islamic vocational education management and provides practical implications for madrasah leaders and policymakers in aligning employability demands with ethical and spiritual foundations

This study is about the implementation of religious moderation values in early childhood in Medan City. The study aims to determine the implementation policy of religious moderation, the process of internalizing the values of religious moderation and the achievement of internalization of religious moderation values in early childhood in Medan City. The methodology used in this study is qualitative by conducting interviews, observations and documentation and a combination with literature. The subjects of the study were RA and TK educational institutions selected purposively. The results of the study indicate that the implementation policy in educational institutions is based on internal and external policies. Internal is the implementation of religious moderation values carried out on the basis that it is God's command (religion) and on the basis that humans must indeed be moderate in their attitudes and ways of thinking. This implementation is termed theo-anthropocentric basis (divinity and humanity). As for externally, strengthening the implementation is carried out because there are indeed regulations or rules that require it. The process of internalizing religious moderation values carried out is by integrating learning through images, videos (animation and non-animation), and cultural and religious studies outside of school. The achievement is that early childhood is able to implement religious moderation with four indicators in the foundation phase. Theoretical-practical research recommendations; increasing insight into religious moderation in educational institutions is important to be done periodically
