HELPLESSNESS EFFECTS ON THE MAIN CHARACTER’S FATE ACCEPTANCE IN NEVER LET ME GO
Get PDFThis research explores the pervasive impact of learned helplessness on various aspects of Kathy H.’s life in Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go, particularly focusing on her role as an organ donor and her interpersonal relationships. Employing close reading and library research methods, the study engages with Boddez et al.’s (2022) framework of learned helplessness to analyze how dystopian structures intensify psychological resignation and foster passive acceptance of fate. The novel reveals how Kathy H., a clone conditioned for organ donation, internalizes powerlessness in the face of inescapable circumstances. Her emotional experience marked by detachment, burnout, and chronic emotional fatigue reflect the broader psychological toll of living within a system that denies autonomy and agency. The illusion of protection within the educational institution and the characters’ limited control over their lives illustrate how systemic control cultivates helplessness. This study argues that the normalization of powerlessness within such a dystopian context leads Kathy to quietly embrace her predetermined function, shedding light on the insidious effects of institutionalized control on self-perception and agency. Ultimately, the analysis offers a nuanced understanding of how helplessness is generalized beyond singular experiences to shape one’s entire psychological landscape in oppressive systems
A CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK FOR USING TIKTOK TO FACILITATE AUTONOMOUS VOCABULARY LEARNING AMONG EFL LEARNERS
Get PDFThis paper introduces a new perspective on how TikTok can be utilized to facilitate autonomous English vocabulary learning, offering an alternative to traditional pedagogical methods that often lack student engagement and practical relevance. Through a synthesis of previous studies and a review of key learning theories, this paper proposes a conceptual framework grounded in the assertion that TikTok serves as a valuable educational resource by integrating three foundational concepts: Vygotsky's social learning theory, Schmitt's vocabulary learning strategies, and Benson's theory of autonomous learning. In essence, TikTok's unique features such as its interest driven algorithm and authentic content, create an environment where students can engage in self-directed learning and apply strategic techniques for effective vocabulary acquisition. Therefore, an understanding of this theoretical synthesis can empower educators to guide students in transforming TikTok from a mere entertainment application into an intentional tool for language learning. This framework aims to provide educators with new insights for developing innovative pedagogies suited to the digital habits of contemporary students, while also establishing a foundation for future research
Penerapan Teknik Modeling Simbolik Terhadap Perilaku Prokrastinasi Siswa SMP Negeri Samarinda
Get PDFTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik modeling simbolik yang diberikan dalam layanan bimbingan kelompok terhadap perilaku prokrastinasi akademik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one group pretest-posttest. Adapun dalam pemlihan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan purposive sampling dengan jumlah siswa 8 orang. Dari data pretest dan posttest menunjukan nilai rata-rata sebelum diberikan treatment layanan bimbingan kelompok teknik modeling simbolik adalah 87,25 yang termasuk kategori tinggi dan setelah diberikan treatment menunjukan penuruan dengan nilai rata-rata 48,75 Kemudian hasil hitung uji paired sample t test menunjukan hasil nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 yang menunjukan bahwa pemberian layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik modeling simbolik terbukti berpengaruh dalam mengurangi perilaku prokrastinasi akademik. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi penelitian berikutnya dan dapat menjadi salah satu strategi dalam mengurangi perilaku prokrastinasi akademik
Analisis Keuangan Daerah dengan Pendekatan Value For Money pada Badan Pengelolaan Keuangan dan Aset Daerah (BPKAD) Kota Palembang

The aim of this research is to find out how regional financial performance is measured by the government using a value for money approach at the Palembang City Regional Financial Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) for the period 2016 to 2020. The form of this research is qualitative, and the data used is Primary data is in the form of a report on the implementation of the Palembang City APBD for the current year. This research analyzes regional finances using a value to money approach using calculations of economic ratios, efficiency and effectiveness. The results of the research, namely economic ratios, show that regional finances tend to fall into the quite economical category. The efficiency ratio shows that regional finances are in a less efficient position. And the level of effectiveness tends to be in the quite effective category.

ABSTRAK
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana kinerja keuangan daerah diukur oleh pemerintah dengan pendekatan value for money pada Badan Pengelola Aset Keuangan Daerah (BPKAD) Kota Palembang periode tahun 2016 sampai dengan tahun 2020. Adapun bentuk penelitian ini adalah kualitatif, dan data yang digunakan adalah data primer berupa laporan pelaksanaan APBD Kota Palembang tahun berjalan. Penelitian ini menganalisis keuangan daerah dengan pendekatan value to money dengan menggunakan perhitungan rasio ekonomis, efisiensi, dan efektifitas. Hasil penelitian yaitu rasio ekonomis menunjukkan bahwa keuangan daerah cenderung masuk dalam kategori cukup ekonomis. Rasio efisiensi menunjukkan bahwa keuangan daerah berada pada posisi kurang efisiens. Dan pada tingkat efektivitasnya cenderung berada pada kategori cukup efektif.

Potensi Dan Strategi Pengembangan Sektor Ekonomi Melalui Wisata Alam Pinus Ciherang Di Kecamatan Cisayong Kabupaten Tasikmalaya
Get PDFThe Pinus Ciherang area, located in Sukamukti Village, Cisayong District, Tasikmalaya Regency, at the foot of Mount Galunggung, holds great tourism potential, particularly with the presence of beautiful pine forests and the waterfalls Curug Badak and Curug Ciherang. However, this exceptional potential has not been well managed, mainly due to the local community's lack of awareness about the valuable assets in their surroundings. As a result, the area has not developed optimally. To realize this potential and address the issue of unorganized management, a holistic development strategy needs to be implemented. The objective of this study is to formulate a sustainable development strategy for the Pinus Ciherang nature tourism area through the identification of local potentials, community empowerment based on Community Based Tourism (CBT), and the application of the 4A concept (Attraction, Accessibility, Amenity, and Ancillary) along with digital innovation to enhance the local economy. This study uses a literature review method. The approach involves applying the 4A strategy and the principles of Community Based Tourism (CBT). Through the 4A strategy, natural attractions such as pine forests and waterfalls can be optimized, accessibility to the location improved, supporting facilities for tourists provided, and appropriate service institutions established.
URGENSI AKIDAH ISLAM DALAM MEMBANGUN DASAR FILOSOFIS HUKUM TATA NEGARA DI INDONESIA
Get PDFTulisan ini membahas peran penting akidah Islam sebagai dasar filosofis dalam pembentukan dan pelaksanaan hukum tata negara di Indonesia. Dalam konteks negara yang berdasarkan Pancasila, nilai-nilai keagamaan menjadi komponen utama dalam sistem hukum dan pemerintahan. Dengan pendekatan normatif-filosofis, tulisan ini mengkaji bagaimana prinsip-prinsip akidah Islam, khususnya tauhid dan kedaulatan Tuhan, memberikan kontribusi terhadap pembentukan struktur hukum dan pemerintahan yang adil dan bermoral. Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa akidah Islam dapat menjadi pijakan utama dalam menjaga integritas, keadilan, dan nilai ketuhanan dalam sistem ketatanegaraan Indonesia.

Pengaruh E-Service Quality Dan E-Trust Terhadap E-Satisfaction Pada E-Commerce Lazada (Studi Pada Mahasiswa S1 Indralaya Universitas Sriwijaya)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh e-service quality dan e-trust terhadap e-satisfaction pada e-commerce lazada (studi pada Mahasiswa S1 Indralaya Universitas Sriwijaya). Data yang digunakan ialah data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil penyebaran kuesioner kepada responden. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 100 responden dengan kriteria Mahasiswa S1 Indralaya Universitas Sriwijaya yang berumur 17-24 tahun dan pernah bertransaksi di lazada minimal 6 bulan terakhir. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-service quality dan e-trust berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap e-satisfaction.

ABSTRACT
This research aims to determine the effect of e-service quality and e-trust on e-satisfaction in Lazada e-commerce (a study on S1 students of Indralaya, Sriwijaya University). The data used are primary data obtained from questionnaires distributed to respondents. The sample for this research consists of 100 respondents, specifically S1 students of Indralaya, Sriwijaya University, aged 17-24 years who have made transactions on Lazada within the last 6 months. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The results show that e-service quality and e-trust have a positive and significant effect on e-satisfaction.

Pengaruh Kompensasi Material Dan Immatrial Terhadap Produktivitas Kerja Karyawan Pada PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia ( Persero ) Regional 2 Palembang

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hipotesis Pengaruh Kompensasi Material dan Immaterial Terhadap Produktivitas kerja karyawan pada PT.Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Palembang. 46 pekerja di PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Palembang menjadi populasi penelitian. Dengan pertimbangan bagi para pekerja PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Palembang yang dibagi menjadi beberapa subdivisi yang berbeda (tidak semuanya sama jenisnya sehingga diambil hasilnya sebagai sampel yang representatif dari masing-masing subdivisi), maka digunakan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah Prospectionate Stratified Random Sampling. Ada 46 responden di seluruh sampel. Analisis regresi linier berganda dan pengujian koefisien determinasi (R2) digunakan dalam pendekatan analisis data penelitian. Produktivitas kerja merupakan variabel independen, begitu pula ketersediaan material dan kompensasi material. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis produktivitas kerja karyawan PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Palembang tidak terpengaruh secara signifikan secara simultan (simultan) oleh variabel independen berupa upah material dan immaterial.

ABSTRACT
This research aims to test the hypothesis of the influence of material and immaterial compensation on employee work productivity at PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Palembang. 46 workers at PT. Port Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Palembang is the research population. With consideration for PT. Port of Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Palembang which is divided into several different subdivisions (not all of the same type so the results are taken as a representative sample from each subdivision), the sampling technique used is Prospectionate Stratified Random Sampling. There were 46 respondents in the entire sample. Multiple linear regression analysis and testing of the coefficient of determination (R2) are used in the research data analysis approach. Work productivity is an independent variable, as are material availability and material compensation. Based on the results of the hypothesis test of employee work productivity at PT. Port Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Palembang is not significantly affected simultaneously (simultaneously) by the independent variables in the form of material and immaterial wages.

TRANSFORMASI SASTRA LISAN PADA TARI SABUK JANUR
Get PDFPenelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan proses transformasi Tari Sabuk Janur karya Joko Sunarto yang terletak di dusun Plawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, dimana data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka. Observasi dilakukan ke lokasi penelitian yaitu dusun Plawan desa Girimulyo Kecamatan Ngargoyoso. Wawancara dilakukan untuk mengetahui informasi penting terkait kesenian tari Sabuk Janur. Studi pustaka dilakukan dengan menelaah sumber data tertulis yang berkaitan dengan objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Bentuk tari Sabuk Janur tidak terlepas dari unsur-unsur pembentuknya. Tari Sabuk Janur terinspirasi dari moncokaki Kyai Sabuk Janur yang sedang memecahkan masalah kekeringan di dusun Plawan. (2) Tradisi lisan dapat tetap hidup dan berhubungan dalam masyarakat di era modern melalui proses transformasi dengan 5 tahapan: 1) Mengidentifikasi ide untuk memilih beberapa adegan sebagai sumber ide tari Sabuk Janur. 2) Membuat konsep tekstual tari. 3) Menjelaskan alur dramatik dari konsep tekstual. 4) Melakukan pertunjukan. 5) Melihat tanggapan penonton terhadap pertunjukan tari Sabuk Janur.

Improving Teacher's Performance through Change Leadership: Mediated by Job Satisfaction
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to see the effect of change leadership on teacher’s performance through job satisfaction on the performance of Junior High School (SMP) teachers in Cilegon City. The method was ex post facto and uses a questionnaire and research data analysis using path analysis to understand the causal relationship between variables in a model. The results of the study indicate that change leadership has an indirect effect on teacher’s performance through job satisfaction. The results of this study present novelty by exploring the role of job satisfaction as a mediator in the relationship between change leadership and teacher’s performance. The findings of this study offer new insights into the importance of job satisfaction in strengthening the positive effects of change leadership on teacher’s performance
