Student Teachers’ Perspectives on Teaching Practice in the College of Education at Al-Mergeb University
This research article focuses its attention on student-teachers’ perspectives on teaching practice in the College of Education at Al-Mergeb University. Semi- structured interview with all student teachers was utilised to collect the data while content analysis was employed to identify themes and analyse the data. This study was done in the academic year 2013-2014 involving 33 student teachers studying in the fourth year level. The findings revealed that, despite the positive experiences during teaching practice, student teachers experienced challenges which affected their perception of the teaching profession. Based on the findings of this study, measures are being suggested on how to improve teaching practice in order to have a positive influence on the student teachers’ perception of, and attitude towards, the teaching profession. Furthermore, the findings indicated that student teachers view teaching practice as an important component in their training because it exposes them to the actual teaching and learning environment in which they can contextualise their theoretical knowledge gained during training period
Application of fuzzy Delphi analysis to shorten the time of new product development based knowledge management tool
This paper proposes a model to priority effective tools of knowledge management to reduce time of new product development process. The proposed process of the study has been implemented among some professors of knowledge management. After weighting the parameters of the model using fuzzy Delphi analysis, values of these parameters has been process. The results show that the parameters of human-based are preferred over process-based knowledge management in new product development. The process-based knowledge management is contained both part of knowledge-led and software-led knowledge management. In knowledge-led knowledge management respectively knowledge integrated production, knowledge acquisition, and knowledge diffusion and integration system are located in the priority of the first to third. And also in knowledge management respectively management information system, knowledge network, and Humans-computers interaction are located in the priority of the first to third
Bengali Diphone Duration Modeling for Bengali Text to Speech Synthesis System
This paper elaborates the analysis and implementation of a durational model of diphone for Bengali Text To Speech. Our analysis focused on duration of diphone according to several categories of consonant. Here we have proposed and implemented a durational model of diphone based on pronunciation place of consonant. This durational model is convenient to any diphone based Bengali Text to Speech Synthesizer. We have implemented our proposed durational model of diphone on Bengali Text To Speech synthesis software “Subachan”. Outcomes of this implementation is satisfactory. We have enhanced the overall performance of “Subachan” successfully with new diphone set
Bayesian Estimation for the shape parameter of Exponentiated Rayleigh distribution
The paper is concerned with Bayesian analysis of Exponentiated Rayleigh distribution for complete samples. The Bayes estimators expressions for the shape parameter of the distribution have been derived under different priors and loss functions. The Gamma, Exponential, Chi-Square and Jeffrey prior have been assumed for posterior analysis. The Bayes estimation has been obtained under eight different loss functions (Squared error, Quadratic, Weighted, Linear exponential, Precautionary, Entropy, De Groot and non-Linear exponential loss functions). The study aims to find out a suitable estimator of the unknown shape parameter. The simulation study has been conducted to compare by mean square error (MSE) for the performance of various estimators
The Impact of Code of Medical Ethics on Health Service Quality among Physicians at Saudi Hospitals of Jeddah
This research aims to determine the scope of applying medical ethics among physicians at Saudi hospitals. This research consists of the independent variables represented by code of medical ethics principles (namely autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and, justice) and dependent variable which represented by health service quality. In order to explore the relationship between independent and dependent variables the quantitative method was applied to collect primary data through a questionnaire, which was administered in the government, and private sector hospitals in Jeddah city. The research population consists of 2871 physicians. The research sample consists of the 287 physicians (10%). The researcher retrieves 176 valid research questionnaires accounted (61%). A purposive sampling strategy was used to choose the participants in this research. The results confirm significant relationship between the codes of medical ethics and health service quality. The result shows that four independent variables are significant (autonomy, beneficence, non- maleficence, and justice) on health service quality. This research contributes to recognizing the vital roles of medical ethics in improving the patient service quality. Regarding the beneficence the physician if consider patient well being and contribute to develop their medical profession by update knowledge and continuous medical education through clinical practice research (randomized control trials) applying evidence based medicine providing that physician deliver health care in a quality standard regarding (attitude ,skills , knowledge, and experience). In turn will lead to increase cure rate, and improve patient well-being. Therefore the medical ethics need to be flexible and open to change and adjust regularly. The medical ethics depends on the future of medicine (e.g. new procedures and techniques)
Design and Implementation of Online Address Book on Information System Case Study of Personal Identity
This research work evaluates the address book system of creating and keeping of people and then design and implementation a new system which will fasten the process and also make the process very accurate and up to date contacts for users, Design and implementation of online address book website is a study in which the researcher's interests is enabling users to create their own profile page and to be found by other people via a search of their name and. Then contacted via their web page containing their profile information. Online Address book system will increase the speed, accuracy easy, and up-to-date profile of users, thereby enabling users to get and contact each other with easy. The proposed system was designed using the structured system analysis and design methodology (SSADM) which was argument by oral interview, observation and study instructional materials of existing system. In. this approach, a lot of information on design and implementation of online. Address book on information was gathered and organized to allow you to quickly view the profile of a customer or supplier and the database was Microsoft access: The result of this work is a software developed in a visual basic. Net which is capable of making the popular learn computer networking at the output of the work shown in appendix.
ENHANCING THE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE USING LEARNER CENTERED STRATEGIES
The effective teaching and learning of English Language has been a major source of concern to educators throughout the ages. The use of such strategies as cooperative learning, inquiry, think-pair-share, brainstorming, peer teaching, and jigsaw should be encouraged. These strategies are quite different from the teachers-centered approach in which the teacher is all in all and pupils are just passive learners. This study explored how some of these interactive strategies can be used in teaching English language in order to achieve English language curriculum objectives. The study recommends that strategies which involve active participation of pupils in learning should be adopted for teaching and learning, government should employ more English language specialists to primary schools, training and retraining. Programmes should be mounted for teachers, head teachers should regularly go round to monitor teaching activities, and re-tooling English language teachers on the use of these interactive strategies for more productive teaching and learning
Recognize the latent menaces in construction projects: An empirical study in construction sector in Jeddah, KSA
This paper seeks to highlight the potential menace in construction projects in Jeddah, KSA, and its influence on project objectives in terms of time, cost, quality, safety and environmental sustainability. The researcher used a total of 25 key risks, which were determined based on a comprehensive assessment of their probability of occurrence and magnitude of consequence on project objectives in China and Australia. Herein the researcher test the magnitude effect of each factor upon the project objectives mentioned above. with an assortment of menaces consequence on project elements: Clients, design, government bodies, contractors and subcontractors, and suppliers, This study concluded that 92.3% of the respondents believe that price inflation of construction materials has a high effect on project construction. Moreover, The results show that there are factors have a high load, which are: Variations by the client, Project funding problems, Suppliers' incompetency to deliver materials on time, and excessive procedures of government approvals, the study recommended that, the enterprise should review and rewords their clients contracts to clear identification of project scoop and payments arrangement. Besides, selecting subcontractors based on specific standards to insure they will add value to the project. Obtain and maintain talent to manage government and public relations.
