Eksplorasi Etnomatematika Pada Tradisi Saparan Pondok Wonolelo
Matematika menjadi salah satu mata pelajaran yang harus dipelajari pada tingkat dasar hingga menengah. Namun, matematika menjadi pelajaran yang “momok” bagi sebagian besar peserta didik. Matematika dipandang sebagai mata pelajaran yang sulit bagi peserta didik. Pembelajaran matematika yang belum berhubungan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari menyebabkan peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam belajar matematika. Oleh karena itu diperlukan pembelajaran matematika yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari yaitu pembelajaran dengan etnomatematika. Pembelajaran matematika berbasis etnomatematika memiliki banyak dampak positif bagi peserta didik. Salah satu obyek budaya etnomatematika yang dapat digunakan yaitu Tradisi Saparan Pondok Wonolelo. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan temuan dari eksplorasi etnomatematika pada tradisi Saparan Pondok Wonolelo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah tokoh masyarakat setempat di dusun Pondok Wonolelo, sedangkan objek penelitiannya yaitu tradisi Saparan Pondok Wonolelo. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, studi literatur , serta menganalisis semua data yang telah dikumpulkan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis domain, analisis taksonomi, analisis komponensial, dan analisis tema budaya. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu terdapat 4 konsep matematika yang terdapat pada tradisi saparan Pondok Wonolelo, yaitu konsep geometri, operasi aljabar, operasi pembagian, dan perbandingan nilai . Pada gunungan apem terdapat konsep operasi aljabar dan geometri yaitu bangun ruang limas segi empat. Pada Jodang terdapat konsep geometri yaitu bangun ruang limas segi empat dan bangun datar trapesium, segitiga, dan lingkaran. Curriculum Management for Character Education in a Non-Formal School: A SWOT-Based Case Study at Gajahwong School, Yogyakarta
Purpose – This study investigates the curriculum management process for character education at Gajahwong School, a non-formal educational institution in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It aims to identify internal and external factors affecting curriculum implementation and to develop strategies for enhancing moral education through SWOT analysis.
Design/methods – The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, drawing on observations, structured interviews, and document analysis to examine planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation processes. Three key informants were selected purposively: a school coordinator, a class educator, and a parent. The Internal and External Strategic Factors Analysis Summaries (IFAS and EFAS) were used to construct a SWOT matrix and formulate strategic responses.
Findings – Curriculum management at Gajahwong School is participatory and value-driven, emphasizing socio-emotional learning, local cultural integration, and child-centered pedagogy. Key strengths include flexible curriculum design, structured planning, and volunteer commitment. However, challenges persist, such as lack of alignment with national standards, insufficient infrastructure, and limited continuity of educators. The SWOT matrix revealed a strategic position that favors opportunity-driven growth, suggesting the potential for expansion through digital branding, inclusive education, and community partnerships.
Research implications/limitations – The contextual specificity and reliance on qualitative data may limit generalizability. Additionally, the absence of a standardized evaluation framework and dependence on informal volunteer systems present challenges for scalability. Future studies should include longitudinal and comparative research across non-formal settings and investigate hybrid curricular models.
Practical implications – The findings provide actionable insights for policymakers, curriculum developers, and educational practitioners seeking to institutionalize character education in marginalized communities. They highlight the importance of integrating moral values, local wisdom, and emotional development into non-formal learning systems.
Originality/value – This study contributes to the limited literature on curriculum management in informal educational contexts and introduces a SWOT-based framework for enhancing character education. It demonstrates how culturally rooted, community-led institutions like Gajahwong can offer innovative models of child development beyond conventional schooling paradigms
Hubungan antara Minat Penggunaan Instagram sebagai Media Belajar Mandiri dengan Prestasi Belajar Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab UIN Sunan Kalijaga angkatan 2022
This research aims to: 1) To find out the interest of the ArabicLanguage Education Department students of the class of 2022 inusing Instagram as a means of learning Arabic independently. 2) Tofind out the Arabic language learning achievement of the studentsof the Arabic Language Education Department, Class of 2022. 3) Tofind out the relationship between the interest of the ArabicLanguage Education Department students of the class of 2022 inusing Instagram as a means of learning the Arabic languageindependently and the achievement of Arabic language learning.This research uses the quantitative method and includes a type of correlation research, where the researchers collect data in this study through questionnaires and documentation. The research tools were guiding questionnaires and cumulative student questionnaires and documentation. The data obtained are then reprocessed in the form of numbers by the researchers and the results are interpreted in the form of explanations. The results of the study indicate that students\u27 interest in using Instagram as a means of independent Arabic language learning is categorized as average with 68.60%, students\u27 achievement in learning is categorized as average with 76.74%, and there is a linear relationship between interest in using Instagram as a means of independent Arabic language learning with Arabic language learning achievement for Arabic language education students at Sunan Kalijaka University Class of 2022 with a correlation coefficient of 0.222 and significance of 0.040
Relasi Makna Dalam Bahasa Arab Dan Implikasinya Terhadap Pemahaman Kontekstual
Arabic semantics presents complex relationships, particularly through musytarak lafzi (lexical polysemy), mudhad (auto-antonyms), and ambiguity. These phenomena represent types of meaning relations that can significantly influence text interpretation when not approached contextually. This article aims to examine these three semantic features within Arabic linguistics and explore their implications for contextual understanding, especially in classical and religious texts. Using a qualitative, descriptive method, the study analyzes lexical examples from the Qur’an, hadits, and Arabic literary works. The findings show that musytarak lafzi in words such as ‘ʿayn’ (which may mean eye, essence, or spring) and mudhad in words like ‘zann’ (which can indicate certainty or doubt) often become major sources of ambiguity, potentially leading to misinterpretation if readers lack contextual awareness. Therefore, a deep understanding of these semantic relations is essential to achieve accurate comprehension of Arabic texts. This study concludes that contextual interpretation plays a vital role in clarifying lexical ambiguity rooted in Arabic’s semantic structures, thereby contributing to both linguistic analysis and the pedagogical development of Arabic language teaching
Analisis Manajemen Program Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di Egypt Islamic Boarding and Course Pare
This study describes the management of Arabic language learning programs at Egypt Islamic Boarding and Course Pare, a non-formal educational institution based on boarding schools that integrates intensive courses with a boarding school system; namely how to apply management functions according to George R. Terry\u27s theory, which includes planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising, in supporting the effectiveness of Arabic language learning programs. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that program planning is carried out through the preparation of an internal curriculum, a level placement system (placement test), and recruitment of teaching staff according to needs. The organization of the program can be seen from the neat institutional structure, clear division of tasks between the academic team and the dormitory management, and intensive coordination. The implementation of the program uses direct and communicative methods that are integrated with the daily activities of students in the dormitory system, creating a conducive learning environment (bi\u27ah lughawiyah). Program supervision is carried out through formative and summative evaluations, daily monitoring, and two-way feedback as part of quality assurance. This study shows that the application of George R. Terry\u27s theory has proven effective in managing Arabic language learning programs in non-formal boarding school-based institutions
The Role of Civics Learning in Facilitating the Development of Anti-Bullying Characters in Elementary Schools
This study aims to analyze the strategic role of Civic Education (Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan or PKn) in shaping students’ character at the elementary school level, with a particular focus on instilling anti-bullying values, strengthening interpersonal relationships, and preventing as well as intervening in bullying behavior. The research addresses the growing concern over school bullying, which negatively affects students’ emotional well-being and social development. By exploring how PKn can serve as a medium for moral and ethical education, this study contributes to both the theoretical understanding and practical implementation of character education in elementary schools. The research was conducted at SDN Kowangbinagun using a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of school activities. The collected data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. This method ensured that the findings were systematically derived from field data. The study found that PKn plays a crucial role in promoting moral values such as empathy, responsibility, tolerance, and justice among students. Through interactive teaching methods, including group discussions, reflection activities, and collaborative tasks, students developed improved interpersonal skills, including assertive communication and conflict resolution. PKn also effectively functioned as a preventive and intervention tool against bullying, as teachers actively provided awareness, corrected negative behaviors, and fostered a safe and supportive school environment. This study concludes that PKn serves as an effective instrument in cultivating a respectful, empathetic, and cooperative school culture, which ultimately reduces bullying incidents. Future research may explore the integration of digital tools in PKn learning to enhance character education outcomes
The Age of Full AI in Education: Redefining Learning through Intelligent Technology
This research aims to identify and evaluate how the use of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning can be optimized in the educational context and its impact on educational development. The focus of this research is to analyze how Artificial Intelligence can be used to enhance student understanding and engagement through visual-based learning materials. Assessing the potential of artificial intelligence in personalizing learning experiences and providing adaptive feedback for students. Identifying challenges and barriers in the implementation of these two technologies in the educational context. Evaluating the impact of integrating Artificial Intelligence on the quality of learning and student learning outcomes. This research examines the transformative potential of full AI implementation across various aspects of education, ranging from personalized learning, automation of teaching processes, enhancement of assessment accuracy, to the creation of adaptive learning environments. Based on recent developments in machine learning, natural language processing, and intelligent tutoring systems, this study provides a comprehensive review of how AI is revolutionizing the educational landscape. This analysis also addresses crucial challenges accompanying full AI adoption, including ethical issues, data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the shifting roles of educators. By analyzing current implementations and future trends, this research proposes a conceptual framework for inclusive, ethical, and resilient smart education in the face of changing times. Ultimately, this study asserts that the comprehensive utilization of AI in education is not merely an option, but an urgent necessity to redefine the meaning of learning in a constantly changing world
Development of Learning Media Flash Card Combinations in English Lessons Grade IV MI Al-Huda Karangnongko Sleman
This study addresses two main questions: (1) how the development process of combination flash card media for English language learning in Grade IV at MI Al-Huda Karangnongko was carried out, and (2) how the appropriateness of the media was evaluated based on expert validation, teacher feedback, and student responses. The research applied a Research and Development (R&D) approach, adapting the Borg and Gall model into eight stages: identifying problems through interviews and observations, conducting needs analysis and literature review, designing the initial prototype, validating with experts, revising the media, conducting limited trials, refining the product, and implementing a large-scale trial. The flash card media was based on Unit I, “What Are You Doing?” from the Grade IV English module published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The final product consisted of 50 cards (25 vocabulary and 25 picture cards), sized 8 x 12 cm, designed using CorelDraw X7 with attention to visual design and cognitive suitability for elementary students. Validation results showed high feasibility: subject matter experts (93.33%), media experts (92.73%), and instructional experts (93.33%) rated the media as “highly appropriate.” Teachers also gave a positive response (90%), emphasizing the media’s clarity, ease of use, and relevance. A field trial with 26 students showed strong enthusiasm and engagement, scoring 234 out of 260 (90%). In conclusion, the developed flash card media is technically and pedagogically effective, promoting motivation, focus, and understanding in English learning. It offers an innovative alternative aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum’s emphasis on active, enjoyable, and contextual learning
The Role of The School Environment as A Moderating Variable in The Effect of Discipline on Learning Outcomes in Islamic Religious Education and Ethics
his study aims to analyze the influence of discipline on Islamic Religious Education and Ethics learning outcomes and to examine the role of the school environment as a moderating variable. The research approach employed quantitative methods with a survey technique. The study population consisted of 218 seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga in the 2024/2025 academic year, and 69 students were selected as a sample using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error. Data were collected through questionnaires (for discipline and school environment variables) and grade documentation (for learning outcomes). Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) using SPSS. The results indicate that discipline has a positive and significant influence on Islamic Religious Education and Ethics learning outcomes. Furthermore, the school environment acts as a moderating variable, strengthening the influence of discipline on learning outcomes when conditions are conducive and weakening it when conditions are less conducive. These findings confirm that improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education and Ethics learning is not solely determined by internal factors such as student discipline, but also influenced by external factors such as a supportive school environment. Practically, these research findings provide implications for educators and school administrators to foster a culture of discipline and create a religious, orderly, and conducive learning climate as an effort to improve the quality of religious education
Kahoot Application as an Interactive Medium in the Learning of “Qur\u27anic Teaching Methods and Tafsir”: Aplikasi Kahoot Sebagai Media Interaktif dalam Pembalajaran “Metode Pembelajaran Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir”
Purpose – This study aims to explore the implementation of the Kahoot application as an interactive learning medium in the course “Methods of Qur\u27anic Teaching and Tafsir” among students of the Qur\u27anic Studies and Tafsir (IAT) program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.
Design/methods/approach – This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach to gain an in-depth understanding of students\u27 experiences and perceptions in using Kahoot. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with several students who participated in learning activities using the Kahoot application and direct observations during the learning process. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis techniques to identify students\u27 responses and perceptions regarding the effectiveness of Kahoot.
Findings – The research findings reveal that the use of Kahoot significantly enhances student participation and creates a more interactive classroom environment. Students become more actively involved in classroom learning, not merely as passive listeners to the lecturer\u27s explanations but as active participants in answering questions, engaging in discussions, and competing with their peers. The competitive and interactive game format helps students remain focused and more motivated to participate in the learning process. Additionally, it fosters students\u27 creativity by allowing them to independently explore various aspects of the application, including question design, answers, and available methods.
Research implications/limitations – This study provides practical value in enhancing technology-based teaching methods, particularly in the Methods of Qur\u27anic Teaching and Tafsir course. It contributes to expanding the range of interactive learning approaches that align with technological advancements and the needs of students in the digital era. However, the study also highlights several limitations, such as reliance on a stable internet connection and varying levels of student adaptation in utilizing the application. These limitations impact the consistency of Kahoot\u27s implementation and its effectiveness across different sessions.
Originality/value - The implementation of the Kahoot application as an interactive media in the Al-Qur\u27an and Tafsir learning process among IAT students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has made a significant contribution. In simple terms, this study demonstrates that the use of Kahoot makes learning more engaging and interactive. The application also assists lecturers in evaluating students\u27 understanding of the material in a more enjoyable and effective way.
Abstrak
Tujuan - Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan aplikasi Kahoot sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif pada mata kuliah Metode Pengajaran Al-Qur\u27an dan Tafsir di kalangan mahasiswa Ilmu Al-Qur\u27an dan Tafsir (IAT) UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.
Desain/metode/pendekatan - Penelitian ini mengguanakan kualitatif deskriptif untuk mendapatkan pemahaman mendalam tentang pengalaman dan persepsi mahasiswa dalam menggunakan Kahoot. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan sejumlah mahasiswa yang telah mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi Kahoot serta observasi langsung selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis tema untuk mengetahui tanggapan dan persepsi siswa terhadap efektivitas Kahoot.
Temuan - Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Kahoot secara signifikan meningkatkan partisipasi mahasiswa dan menciptakan suasana kelas yang lebih interaktif. Data ini dibutktikan dengan adanya penerapan aplikasi Kahoot mendorong mahasiswa untuk lebih aktif berpartisipasi dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Mereka tidak hanya pasif mendengarkan penjelasan dosen, tetapi juga terlibat aktif dalam menjawab pertanyaan, berdiskusi, dan berkompetisi dengan teman-temannya. Format permainan yang kompetitif dan interaktif membuat mahasiswa lebih fokus dan tertarik untuk mengikuti pembelajaran. Selain itu mahasiswa juga dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dengan memberikan kesempatan untuk memproses sendiri penggunaan aplikasi, baik dalam segi soal, jawaban, ataupun metode yang disediakan.
Implikasi/batasan penelitian - Penelitian ini memberikan nilai praktis dalam meningkatkan metode pengajaran berbasis teknologi, khususnya pada mata kuliah tafsir dan pengajaran Alquran. Temuan ini juga dapat menjadi dasar untuk penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pendidikan Islam. Hasil penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam memperkaya pilihan metode pembelajaran interaktif yang sesuai dengan perkembangan teknologi dan kebutuhan mahasiswa era digital. Namun, penelitian ini juga menemukan beberapa keterbatasan, seperti ketergantungan pada jaringan internet yang stabil serta adaptasi yang bervariasi di antara mahasiswa dalam memanfaatkan aplikasi ini. Keterbatasan ini mempengaruhi konsistensi implementasi dan efektivitas Kahoot di setiap pertemuan.
Orisinalitas/nilai - Penerapan aplikasi Kahoot sebagai media interaktif dalam pembelajaran Alquran Tafsir di kalangan mahasiswa IAT UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta memberikan kontribusi yang cukup signifikan. Secara sederhana, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Kahoot dapat membuat pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik dan interaktif. Penggunaan Kahoot juga dapat membantu dosen dalam mengevaluasi pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi yang telah diajarkan secara lebih menyenangkan
