    No full text
Chemistry concepts are generally abstract so they require teaching materials that visualize those abstract concepts. The aims of this study were to develop a Basic Chemistry E-Book enhance with multiple representations and STEM approach. This study used a research and development model modified from the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely: (1) Analysis (analysis of students’ characteristics and course objectives), (2) Design (design of e-book and research instruments), (3) Develop (e-book production), (4) Implementation (expert judgement and field trials), and (5) Evaluation (the effectiveness test and revision of e-book). Research result showed that the feasibility of e-book based on the expert judgement got 93.75% as a score on the material feasibility component, 100% as a score of feasibility component and 95.40% as a score of the language and STEM component. Furthermore, the results of small-scale field trials obtained a percentage of 86% and large-scale field trials obtained a percentage of 87%. The effectiveness test of e-book got score 0,643 means e-book was effective enough for using in learning chemistry. Based on this study, e-book for Basic Chemistry Course based on multiple representations with the STEM approach is appropriate for being used in general chemistry course. &nbsp

    No full text
The utilization of artificial intelligence in learning is growing, one of which is through the use of a Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) as a learning tool. This study aims to analyze the relationship between student motivation, response quality perspective, and frequency of GPT use in chemistry learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with multiple regression methods to predict the frequency of GPT use based on two predictor variables, namely motivation and response quality evaluation. Data were collected through a survey of 58 students from chemistry and chemistry education study programs at the undergraduate, master\u27s, and doctoral levels. Correlation analysis results showed a significant positive relationship between motivation and response quality evaluation (r(56) = .59, p < .001) and between response quality evaluation and frequency of GPT use (r(56) = .49, p < .001). However, the relationship between motivation and frequency of GPT use was weaker (r(56) = .32, p = .015). Regression analysis showed that evaluation of response quality significantly predicted the frequency of GPT use (β = .57, p < .001), whereas motivation had a smaller effect (β = .21, p < .01). The R² value of .25 indicated that 25% of the variability in the frequency of GPT use could be explained by both predictor variables. This finding suggests that although motivation has a role in the use of GPT, college students are more likely to use it when they rate the response quality as high. The implications of the results of this study can be the basis for developing strategies to increase the utilization of GPT in chemistry learning as well as academic policies related to the use of AI in education

This study aims to evaluate the alignment of fairy tale books published by Naura with moral values and reasoning that are appropriate for early childhood.and its relevance to child development at RA Rumah Kreatif Wadas Kelir. Ontology in this context is interpreted as a fundamental study of the nature of values, character, and the formation of children\u27s personalities which are represented through the storyline, characters, and moral messages in fairy tales. This study also examines whether these stories meet the criteria for quality literature that supports moral development in accordance with the developmental characteristics of early childhood. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a content analysis approach, combined with a case study design at RA Rumah Kreatif Wadas Kelir. The research findings indicate that Naura\u27s fairy tale books effectively convey moral values relevant to children\u27s daily experiences, such as obedience and perseverance. These values align with the typical moral reasoning stage in early childhood, which, according to Kohlberg\u27s theory, corresponds to the pre-conventional level. The narratives presented in these books have ontological implications for early childhood education, particularly in fostering and supporting the moral development of young learners. The stories in this book can be a fun character learning medium, making it easier for teachers to instill good values, and supporting the formation of children\u27s self-identity based on story literacy, while also providing practical recommendations for educators in optimizing the use of story books as a character learning medium

The multilingual environment at Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Parmeraan, where santri and ustaz alternate among Arabic, Indonesian, and Batak Mandailing, creates a natural setting for code-mixing in daily communication. This study aims to identify the forms and directions of code-mixing, examine the motivations for its use, and analyze its sociolinguistic functions in both educational and social interactions. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings indicate that the dominant forms of code-mixing are insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization, occurring outwardly (between Arabic and non-Arabic languages) and inwardly (between Indonesian and Batak Mandailing). Code-mixing functions as a communicative strategy, strengthens group solidarity, and reinforces religious identity within the pesantren community. This study contributes to understanding multilingual communication in Islamic educational settings and provides new insights into tri-lingual code-mixing, a rarely examined phenomenon in Indonesian sociolinguistics
