Indonesian nutmeg is preferred by the world market, because it has several advantages compared to nutmeg from other countries, the advantages include high oil yield and a distinctive aroma. In Negeri Watui, the majority of people work as farmers and show considerable interest in cultivating nutmeg plants. This interest is not only driven by the economic potential of nutmeg plants, but also by the availability of supporting agricultural land and easy access to seeds. However, the limited knowledge of the community about nutmeg cultivation techniques makes them hesitate to start. One of the main obstacles is the assumption that nutmeg cultivation techniques are quite complicated, especially in terms of selecting superior seeds, creating shade, arranging the right planting distance, and maintenance such as pruning, embroidery, and fertilization which require special technical precision and understanding. Therefore, this training was carried out to answer the community's need for adequate technical knowledge and build self-confidence in cultivating nutmeg plants sustainably. And they really hope for training on how to cultivate nutmeg plants so that it can increase the knowledge of farmer groups about nutmeg cultivation and foster the community's interest in creativity related to the development of natural resources

    Get PDF
This study investigates the application of the Trimming Gaussian Mixture Model (TGMM) for clustering monthly rice productivity time series data in West Java from 2018 to 2023. TGMM is a robust clustering approach that reduces the influence of outliers by trimming a specified portion of the data prior to parameter estimation. The dataset, sourced from Open Data Jabar, was analyzed to identify the most representative number of clusters using the Silhouette Score. The optimal clustering solution was achieved with two main clusters (k = 2) and a trimming proportion of 15%. The results revealed three distinct regional groups: two dominant clusters characterized by moderate-stable and high-consistent productivity patterns, and a separate group of outliers marked by low and highly fluctuating productivity. Cluster stability was assessed using the Adjusted Rand Index (ARI), yielding values of 0.41 (bootstrap) and 0.545 (subsampling), which indicate a reasonably consistent clustering structure. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of TGMM in capturing underlying productivity patterns while accounting for noise and outliers, suggesting its potential as a robust decision-support tool for data-driven agricultural planning and policy formulation

This study explores how video-based procedure text tasks can foster speaking confidence among senior high school students learning English. Speaking is frequently the language skill that causes the anxiety for learners, particularly in environments where students fear making mistakes or being judged. By integrating structured genre pedagogy with video production, this research investigates how students engage with language in a low-pressure setting that encourages rehearsal, reflection, and self-expression. Conducted in a Grade 10 classroom at SMKS Jayanegara Ambon, the study employed semi-structured interviews, observation checklists, and teacher field notes to capture students’ emotional and behavioral responses. Findings reveal that most students experienced increased self-awareness, reduced anxiety, and greater motivation when completing video tasks. The procedure text format provided a clear linguistic framework, helping students organize their thoughts and deliver instructions with clarity. Video recording allowed students to practice and revise their speech, minimizing the fear associated with live performance. While some students faced challenges related to editing, pronunciation, and group collaboration, the overall impact on speaking confidence was positive. The study demonstrates that combining procedural language with video-based learning offers a meaningful way to support oral communication skills. This approach encourages autonomy, creativity, and emotional readiness, making it a valuable strategy for enhancing speaking instruction in English classrooms

    Get PDF
Mangrove ecosystems harbor diverse microorganisms with important ecological and biotechnological roles. Actinobacteria, in particular, are well known as producers of bioactive compounds and potential biocontrol agents against plant pathogens, making their exploration relevant for sustainable agriculture. This study aimed to isolate and characterize Actinobacteria from the rhizosphere of mangroves in Bagek Kembar, West Lombok, and to evaluate their antagonistic potential against Ralstonia solanaciearum, plant disease agent. Soil samples were collected using a quadrant method, while environmental parameters such as pH, temperature, humidity, and salinity were measured to assess habitat suitability. Actinobacteria were isolated and identified through Gram staining and morphological observation, their abundance was calculated using the Total Plate Count method, and antagonistic activity was tested using the agar well diffusion assay. The results showed that soil pH was relatively neutral, with temperature and salinity suitable for Actinobacteria growth. Five isolates (ACT R1–R5) were obtained, all Gram-positive with filamentous hyphae-like morphology. Total Plate Count analysis indicated high abundance (3.2 × 105), although the diversity of isolates recovered was relatively low. Antagonistic assays revealed that ACT R2 and ACT R4 moderate inhibitory effect, and ACT R1, ACT R3, and ACT R5 weak. Overall, these findings demonstrate that mangrove rhizospheres in West Lombok are a promising source of Actinobacteria with significant potential as environmentally friendly biocontrol agent

This study aims to identify the potential and dominance patterns of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) species in the Waesala Village Forest Area, Huamual Belakang District, West Seram Regency. Based on the research results, this area has NTFP potential from four main families, namely Arecaceae, Myrtaceae, Annonaceae, and Fabaceae. Among these species, Melaleuca cajuputi is absolutely dominant with an Important Value Index (IVI) of 162.3% at the tree level, 181.9% at the pole level, 143.9% at the stake level, and 168.5% at the seedling level. The species diversity (H’) in this area is classified as low, with the highest value at the tree level (H’ = 0.4669) and the lowest at the seedling level (H’ = 0.2644). This indicates that natural regeneration of other species is very limited due to the dominance of Melaleuca cajuputi. The distribution of individuals among species (E) is most even at the pole stage (E = 0.3186), while the seedling stage has the lowest evenness (E = 0.1907), emphasizing the dominance of a single species at this stage. The dominance index (C) shows the highest value at the seedling stage (C = 0.718), indicating the absolute dominance of Melaleuca cajuputi during this phase, with lower values at the stake stage (C = 0.535), pole stage (C = 0.443), and tree stage (C = 0.364). Several factors contribute to the dominance of Melaleuca cajuputi, including rapid regeneration ability, effective dispersal, adaptation to extreme environmental conditions, as well as human intervention through land-burning practices by cajuput oil farmers. &nbsp

    Get PDF
Introduction: The comparison of carbon tax regulations between Indonesia and Japan is highly relevant, considering that Japan has implemented a carbon tax policy earlier, on a larger scale, and with varying rates for different types of carbon emissions. By analyzing this comparison, Indonesia is expected to identify a more effective approach to reducing carbon emissions without hindering economic growth. Purposes of the Research: The purpose of this legal comparison is to evaluate and propose a unification of carbon tax policies in Indonesia that better align with domestic conditions and needs, by taking into account the experiences of other countries, particularly Japan. This unification aims to create a more efficient and equitable carbon tax system that can support Indonesia’s efforts in achieving its carbon emission reduction targets This unification aims to create a more efficient and equitable carbon tax system, and can support Indonesia's efforts to meet its carbon emission reduction targets. Methods of the Research: This study uses a normative method with a comparative approach. The primary legal material used is a comparison between the Indonesian legal framework and the Japanese legal framework. Comparative analysis is focused on law in the context by using a micro approach, i.e. a comparison of legal norms. Results Main Findings of the Research: This research contributes to the legal and policy discourse on carbon taxation by providing a comparative analysis between Indonesia and Japan, focusing on how regulatory design and economic instruments can balance environmental goals with industrial competitiveness. The study finds that while Japan’s carbon tax operates within a mature regulatory framework supported by strong institutional coordination and public compliance, Indonesia’s system remains at a formative stage, requiring detailed implementing regulations and clear emission accounting mechanisms. Both countries share the objective of promoting low-carbon transitions, but differ in tariff structure, policy maturity, and economic adaptability. Japan’s experience demonstrates that consistent policy enforcement and alignment with renewable energy incentives enhance effectiveness, a lesson Indonesia can adopt to balance environmental protection with sustainable economic growths
