    Content and Language Integrated Learning as a Strategy for Enhancing Speaking Skills: A Narrative Literature Review

    Speaking remains one of the most challenging skills for foreign language learners, who often understand written and spoken texts but struggle to communicate fluently and accurately. Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) has been introduced as an instructional approach that combines subject learning with target language use, creating authentic opportunities for oral production and interaction. This narrative review examines how CLIL contributes to speaking development, drawing on empirical studies conducted across different educational levels and contexts. Findings from the reviewed research show that CLIL consistently enhances fluency and vocabulary. Learners in CLIL programs tend to produce longer stretches of speech with fewer pauses and demonstrate broader lexical repertoires, particularly in academic vocabulary. Evidence on grammatical accuracy and pronunciation is more mixed: while learners often achieve intelligibility and communicative effectiveness, errors persist without explicit language support. Communicative competence emerges as a strong area of growth, as CLIL classrooms provide space for negotiation of meaning, turn-taking, and pragmatic use of language. The review also underscores the importance of implementation factors. Scaffolding, feedback, teacher training, and assessment practices significantly influence outcomes, while program intensity, duration, and learner motivation further shape the development of speaking skills. Although results vary across contexts, the overall evidence indicates that CLIL provides a productive environment for developing oral proficiency, offering learners both the need and the opportunity to use language meaningfully in the pursuit of content learning

    Hedonic Price Analysis for Consumer Preference on Rice Quality Attributes in Some Selected State of North Western Nigeria.

    Rice consumption in Nigeria has grown tremendously over a few decades, particularly among urban dwellers. The country also ranks first as both producer and consumer of rice in the West African sub region. Consumption is expected to continue to increase with population growth, urbanization and changes in consumption habits. This study investigated the influence of rice attributes on price. A total of 156 rice samples were collected from 15 markets within the radius of 400 km from the site of Middle Rima River Valley Irrigation Scheme in Nigeria, which were analysed for grain physical and chemical quality characteristics, which were subjected through a hedonic price analysis of different rice types sold in the markets. Results show that some markets had significant discount effect on price of rice while consumers pay premium price on imported rice.  These findings suggest that the consumers preferred rice more appealing physical attributes such as low percent broken, high length to width ratio, low varietal mix and low impurities. This is despite the nutritional ascendance, demonstrated by high amylose and protein contents of domestic rice over the imported. The wide price differentials between domestic and imported rice could be bridge with improvement in the physical attributes of domestic varieties and better post-harvest handling techniques to reduce brokenness and impurities of the domestic rice. There is also need for advocacy of the nutritional    in order to narrow the gap in consumer’s preference towards the domestic rice

    Verbal  folklore reference documentation is one of the efforts to sustain and preserve oral folklore through the process of collecting, selecting, processing and storing in  written descriptions. This study aims to describe the form and function of oral folklore in Negeri Rutong , South Leitimur District, Maluku. The research method used is a qualitative research method. The techniques used are observation and interview techniques to collect oral folklore data. The research results obtained include nicknames such as Talahattu Galoba; naming places such as Batu Minom Aer; traditional expressions such as ale makang isi, beta anana bone jua; traditional questions such as cigulu-cigulu satu, bu bale bu bale Bulan tabala, apakah itu?; Gandong Amalopu (Amakele Lopurisa) rhyme "Harutui Rutung"; folk tales such as the myth entitled Setang Galojo; and folk songs welcoming guests sung by Oyo. All of these oral folklore have a general function as an identity that strengthens the beliefs and culture of the people of Rutong country

    Waste problems in coastal areas are a serious issue affecting environmental quality and ecosystem sustainability. This study aims to identify and map waste distribution patterns by type along the coastal area of Rumah Tiga Village, Teluk Ambon District, Ambon City. The research employed a field survey with a line transect approach, supported by GPS-based spatial recording and GIS analysis. The findings reveal that waste distribution is strongly influenced by community activities, particularly around markets and residential zones, with inorganic waste dominating—soft plastics accounting for 33% and hard plastics for 17%. Meanwhile, open coastal areas were mainly filled with natural debris such as wood and leaves. These results confirm that most coastal waste originates from land-based sources rather than marine input. This research contributes essential spatial evidence for formulating more effective waste management policies, raising public awareness, and encouraging multi-stakeholder engagement in preserving coastal ecosystems.     Pelatihan Teatrikal Puisi pada Anak dan Remaja Sektor Sion Jemaat Passo Utara Tahun 2025

    Community service activities in collaboration with the GPM Passo Utara Congregation. This community service aims to increase creativity, self-confidence, and the ability to appreciate children's and adolescent literature through theatrical poetry training. The training was carried out in the Zion Sector of the Passo Utara Congregation in 2025, involving participants aged 10–14 years. The benefits of this activity are expected to enable participants to implement theatrical poetry performances. The methods used include providing theoretical knowledge about poetry, practicing vocal techniques, intonation, expression, and appreciation, and ending with a performance as an evaluation of the results of the theatrical poetry training. The results of the training showed an increase in the participants' ability to express themselves through theatrical poetry, growing courage to appear in public, and building a spirit of togetherness among children and adolescents. Thus, this activity not only contributes to the development of artistic talent but also forms character and strengthens positive values within the GPM Passo Utara congregation. The output of the activity was a theatrical poetry performance entitled "Sepotong Sagu". The outcome of this community service activity is expected to enhance the creativity of the children and adolescents of the GPM Passo Utara Congregation in appreciating literature through performing arts

    Anak tunadaksa artinya individu dengan kendala fisik yang memerlukan perhatian khusus pada berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk pendidikan, sosial, serta psikologis. Dukungan lingkungan, baik dari keluarga, sekolah, maupun rakyat, memegang peranan penting pada membantu anak tunadaksa mengembangkan potensi diri secara optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan buat menyelidiki peran penting dukungan lingkungan dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup anak tunadaksa. Metode yang dipergunakan merupakan studi pustaka dan  observasi kasus. akibat kajian menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan yang inklusif, suportif, dan  responsif terhadap kebutuhan khusus anak tunadaksa mampu meningkatkan kepercayaan  diri, motivasi belajar, dan  partisipasi sosial mereka. sebaliknya, kurangnya dukungan dapat memperburuk kondisi psikologis serta membatasi akses terhadap pendidikan dan  interaksi sosial. oleh karena itu, diperlukan sinergi antara keluarga, tenaga pendidik, serta kebijakan pemerintah untuk membangun lingkungan yang ramah serta memberdayakan anak tunadaksa

    Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning Dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Pada Siswa Kelas V SD Negeri 27 Ambon

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 27 Ambon Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan secara kolaboratif antara guru dan peneliti, dimana peneliti bertindak sebagai guru, dan guru kelas V bertindak sebagai observer. Desain penelitian menggunakan model PTK dari Arikunto (2016) yaitu perencanaan penelitian berdaur ulang (siklus) yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri 27 Ambon yang terdiri dari 28 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh dari observasi, tes kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif serta disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik yaitu pada siklus I sebesar 57% (kategori sedang), sedangkan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 89% (kategori sangat baik). Hal ini berarti terjadi peningkatan signifikan antara setiap siklusnya. Dengan demikian penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V SD Negeri 27 Ambon

    Penerapan Strategi Pembelajaran Kinestetik Dalam Perkembangan Belajar dan Keterampilan Pada Siswa Kelas III SD Negeri 41 Ambon

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan strategi pembelajaran aktif dan kinestetik guna meningkatkan perkembangan dan keterampilan siswa secara menyeluruh, baik fisik, sosial, emosional, maupun kognitif pada siswa kelas III SD Negeri 41 Ambon Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan secara kolaboratif antara guru dan peneliti, dimana peneliti bertindak sebagai pelaksana pembelajaran, dan guru kelas III bertindak sebagai observer. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas III SD Negeri 41 Ambon yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif, kemudian disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan narasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam perkembangan menyeluruh siswa. Pada siklus I, perkembangan fisik mencapai 68%, sosial 64%, emosional 62%, dan kognitif 66% (kategori sedang). Sedangkan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi fisik 92%, sosial 88%, emosional 90%, dan kognitif 94% (kategori sangat baik). Dengan demikian, penerapan strategi pembelajaran aktif dan kinestetik terbukti efektif meningkatkan perkembangan dan keterampilan siswa kelas III SD Negeri 41 Ambon secara holistik melalui proses belajar yang melibatkan keaktifan tubuh dan pikiran secara seimbang

    UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KOMPETENSI DIGITAL GURU MELALUI PELATIHAN PENGGUNAAN LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BERBASIS EDUKATI

    The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in education, including in the learning process. However, teachers in remote areas such as Leihitu Barat District, Central Maluku, still face limitations in digital competence and infrastructure, which hinder the optimal use of educational technology. Based on these conditions, this community service program was carried out with the aim of improving teachers’ digital competence through training on the use of the Edukati-based Learning Management System (LMS). The activities involved several stages, including preparation, face-to-face training, hands-on practice using the LMS, online mentoring after the training, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding and skills. Before the training, all teachers had no knowledge of LMS and no prior experience in using it. After the training, all participants understood the basic functions of LMS, and 75% were able to operate Edukati’s key features, such as creating digital classes, uploading materials, and designing learning assessments. Teachers’ readiness level increased from 4.2% (not ready) to 82.1% (ready). Nevertheless, limited devices, unstable internet access, and the absence of technical staff remain challenges in implementation. Teachers’ enthusiasm, the support of a WhatsApp community, and the openness of partner schools to digital innovation provide opportunities for program sustainability. Therefore, the Edukati LMS training proved effective in improving teachers’ digital literacy and is essential as a strategic step to strengthen digital culture in education, particularly in remote area

    PENGELOLAAN EKOSISTEM MANGROVE BERKELANJUTAN BERBASIS SES DI DESA UPA KECAMATAN TOBELO TENGAH

    Mangrove ecosystems have ecologically important values for the community and make a major contribution to support the sustainability of life. This study aims to analyze the ecological habitat of mangrove ecosystems, analyze mangrove ecosystem management with an ecological approach, determine sustainable management strategies for mangrove ecosystems in Upa Village. The research was conducted from January to May 2024 in Upa Village, Central Tobelo District. Data were collected through observation and interviews. Mangrove data were collected using belt transect, while socio-economic data were collected using questionnaires to 90 respondents. Data mangrove processed with Microsoft Excel, analysis of problems and connectivity of social ecological systems using DPSIR analysis followed by AHP. Water quality values obtained are still in accordance with quality standards to support mangrove growth. Four types of mangrove species were found on the coast of Upa Village with a density level including the good category. The INP value for the tree and sapling category is dominated by Sonneratia alba, while for the sapling category is dominated by Rhizophora apiculata. There are 3 strategies for sustainable mangrove ecosystem management in Upa Village, namely environmental education (0.516), strengthening regulations (0.252), and fishermen infrastructure (0.232) with priority strategies focused on environmental education.   ABSTRAK Ekosistem mangrove memiliki nilai penting secara ekologis bagi masyarakat serta memberikan kontribusi yang besar untuk menunjang keberlangsungan kehidupan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis habitat ekologi ekosistem mangrove, menganalisis pengelolaan ekosistem mangrove dengan pendekatan ekologi, menentukan strategi pengelolaan berkelanjutan ekosistem mangrove di Desa Upa. Penelitian dilakukan pada Januari-Mei 2024 di Desa Upa Kecamatan Tobelo Tengah. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Pengambilan data mangrove menggunakan belt transect, sedangkan data sosial ekonomi menggunakan kuesioner terhadap 90 responden. Data mangrove diolah dengan microsoft excel, analisis permasalahan dan konektivitas sistem sosial ekologi menggunakan analisis DPSIR yang dilanjutkan dengan AHP. Nilai kualitas air yang diperoleh masih sesuai baku mutu untuk mendukung pertumbuhan mangrove. Ditemukan 4 jenis spesies mangrove di pesisir Desa Upa dengan tingkat kerapatan termasuk kategori baik. Nilai INP untuk kategori pohon dan anakan didominasi oleh Sonneratia alba, sedangkan untuk kategori sapihan didominasi oleh Rhizophora apiculate. Diperoleh 3 strategi untuk pengelolaan ekosistem mangrove berkelanjutan di Desa Upa yaitu yaitu pendidikan lingkungan (0.516), pengautan regulasi (0.252), dan sarana prasarana nelayan (0.232) dengan strategi prioritas difokuskan pada pendidikan lingkungan.   Kata Kunci: Mangrove, DPSIR, AHP, keberlanjutan, Desa Up
