ANALISIS DAYA DUKUNG DAN INDEKS KESESUAIAN WISATA PANTAI BERAWA CANGGU, KABUPATEN BADUNG, PROVINSI BALI
Berawa Beach is one of the destinations that can attract tourists. The potential tourist attractions of Berawa Beach are beautiful scenery, watching the sunset, taking pictures, relaxing, beach recreation. Berawa Beach is strategically located in Tibubeneng Village, Banjar Berawa, North Kuta District. To access the Berawa Beach tourist attraction, you can go via the Berawa Beach road in Banjar Berawa. Tibubeneng Village consists of 13 Banjar Dinas areas/environments and 3 Traditional Villages. Sustainable development is one strategy that can be applied to maintain environmental sustainability around Berawa Beach, which can be done through research on the Regional Carrying Capacity (DDK) and the Tourism Suitability Index (IKW), considering that both instruments have an important role in indicating the level of feasibility of an area and supporting the planning of tourist destination development. The research was conducted in October - December 2023. The data source for this research is primary data obtained from direct observation and interviews, while secondary data was obtained from literature studies. IKW analysis uses the IKW matrix of recreation categories and tourism suitability assessment classification, while interviews using questionnaires and field observations are used for the Regional Carrying Capacity (DDK). The results of the Regional Carrying Capacity for Sightseeing activities are 8,240 people/day, the Swimming category is 6,994 people/day and for Surfing is 5,349 people/day. The results of the Tourism Suitability Index analysis were obtained at station 1 of 2.3 (Appropriate), at station 2 of 2.5 (Very Appropriate), at station 3 of 2.5 (Very Appropriate)
ANALISIS PENDAPATAN USAHA KERAMABA JARING APUNG (KJA) DI TELUK AMBON DALAM
Floating net cages (KJA) are one method of fish farming that is increasingly popular in various coastal areas of Indonesia, including in Ambon City. Economically, KJA plays an important role in increasing the income of fishermen. More stable and controlled fish production through KJA allows fishermen to earn a more certain income compared to traditional fishing. The purpose of this study was conducted to see how many per cent of the increase in income that occurred in the KJA business owner with a job before doing KJA business in Teluk Ambon Dalam. Primary data collection was carried out by interview based on a questionnaire to 9 respondents selected by purposive sampling method according to the criteria that the respondent is an active KJA business owner in Ambon Bay. With the data analysis method using excel application for income, the results showed a significant increase in income of 76% for KJA business owners in Teluk Ambon Dalam compared to their previous jobs. Thus KJA is also a new employment opportunity, both directly in KJA operations and in supporting sectors such as fish processing and marketing and has good prospects in the futur
The Role of Telomerase in Celullar Senescence and Its Implications For Anti-Aging Therapy
Aging is a complex biological process influenced by genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. One of the primary mechanisms contributing to aging is telomere shortening, which plays a crucial role in genome stability and cellular regeneration. As individuals age, progressive telomere shortening can trigger cellular apoptosis and tissue dysfunction, impacting health and skin aesthetics. Consequently, telomere-based anti-aging therapies have become a significant focus of strategies aimed at slowing the aging process and improving quality of life. Several studies have explored various therapeutic approaches, including telomerase activation, bioactive compounds, and genetic engineering technologies to maintain telomere length and enhance cellular function. This literature review aims to analyze recent developments in telomere-based anti-aging therapies, evaluate their effectiveness, and discuss their potential applications in health and aesthetic medicine. A deeper understanding of telomere mechanisms and their therapies is expected to facilitate the development of more effective and sustainable anti-aging strategies
Effectiveness of Methanol and Petroleum Benzene Extracts of Catharantus roseus Leaves in Reducing Blood Sugar Levels in Mice (Mus musculus) Diabetes Mellitus Model
Catharanthus roseus, a plant belonging to the Apocynaceae family, contains various chemical compounds. The roots, stems, leaves, and seeds of Catharanthus roseus contain over 70 types of alkaloids, including 28 bi-indole alkaloids found throughout the plant. These compounds, many of which are beneficial in medicine, exhibit blood sugar-lowering (hypoglycemic) properties. This study aims to evaluate the effects of pure methanol extracts of Catharanthus roseus leaves on diabetes mellitus in mice, providing comprehensive evidence of its efficacy. Methanol and petroleum benzene extracts of Catharanthus roseus leaves were diluted to a 5% concentration and administered to test animals at a dose of 1.5 ml. After a two-week testing period, the results showed a significant reduction in blood sugar levels in the diabetes mellitus model mice. This demonstrates the hypoglycemic effect of methanol and petroleum benzene extracts of Catharanthus roseus leaves in lowering blood glucose levels in streptozotocin-induced mice
Kajian Keberadaan Jenis-Jenis Penyakit-penyakit Tanaman Penting pada Cabai (Capsicum sp.)
One of the causes of the decline in chili production in Indonesia is the disturbance of pests and diseases that attack at the time of seedling to harvest. The research aims to describe the damage caused by important diseases in chili plantations and obtain data on the intensity of damage caused by these diseases. This research used two varieties of chili, namely curly chili and cayenne pepper, and was conducted using the descriptive study method. The results of the study found 3 types of chili diseases, namely 1) leaf spot disease with an intensity of damage to curly chili of 19.58% and cayenne pepper of 11.57% in the mild attack category; 2) anthracnose disease with an intensity of damage to curly chili of 25.9% in the moderate attack category and cayenne pepper of 11.8% in the mild category; and 3) viral diseases with an intensity of damage to curly chili of 10% and cayenne pepper of 6% in the mild attack category
Analisis Pola Distribusi Ruruhi (Syzygium polycephalum Merr.) Menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis di Kebun Raya Universitas Halu Oleo, Sulawesi Tenggara
The Ruruhi plant (Syzygium polycephalum Merr.) is a native species in the Botanical Garden of Halu Oleo University (UHO). This plant supports biodiversity by providing habitat and food sources, enhancing soil quality, and preventing erosion. However, its spatial distribution has not yet been systematically mapped. Due to its ecological and economic value for local communities and the limited information available regarding its distribution and abundance, the Ruruhi plant was selected as the subject of this study. The research aims to obtain detailed information on the distribution patterns of Ruruhi within the UHO Botanical Garden using a Geographic Information System (GIS) approach. The study was conducted through digital mapping utilizing high-resolution Google Earth satellite imagery, followed by field surveys to validate the accuracy of the spatial data. The findings indicate that Ruruhi grows in clusters in areas with high soil moisture and sufficient canopy cover. The Morisita index analysis confirmed a clustered distribution pattern across various growth stages, from seedlings to mature plants, suggesting a strong preference for specific environmental conditions. Furthermore, environmental factors such as temperature, air humidity, soil pH, and soil moisture significantly influenced its distribution. The distribution map from this analysis is expected to serve as a foundational tool for botanical garden management in developing effective conservation strategies, including designing educational trails that enable visitors to observe Ruruhi plants without disturbing their natural habitat. This research contributes to biodiversity conservation efforts and enhances the database of local endemic plant species in the UHO Botanical Garde
Analisis Gradien Sebaran Air Tanah Berdasarkan Elevasi Muka Air Tanah di Kecamatan Ternate Utara, Kota Ternate
The availability of groundwater in the North Ternate District plays an important role in meeting domestic and industrial needs amidst the challenges of reduced water resources due to land conversion into built-up areas and reducing water catchment areas. This study aims to analyze the distribution pattern of groundwater levels to identify recharge and discharge areas and their application in water resource management in the region. The research method includes field surveys to collect data, including coordinate points, well topographic elevation data, well water depth, and well height, as well as mapping using Surfer software to produce spatial visualization of groundwater flow patterns. The results of the study showed that the highest groundwater level elevation ranged from 40-60 masl, which was concentrated in Soa-Sio Village and acted as a recharge zone, while the discharge zone has a low groundwater level elevation (<10 masl), which was concentrated in Sangaji and Dufa-dufa Villages, where excessive groundwater exploitation occurs and there was the potential for seawater intrusion. The results of this study are expected to provide information and a basis for policy regarding the importance of protecting catchment areas through sustainable land use management and controlling groundwater utilization to prevent depletion and decline in groundwater quality
PELATIHAN BUDIDAYA DAN PENANAMAN PALA (Myristica fragrans Houtt ) MENINGKATKAN KAPASITAS PETANI PALA DI DESA WATUI - KABUPATEN SERAM BAGIAN BARAT
The purpose of this Community Service activity is: Equipping the Community Around the Forest (Watui Village) with knowledge and skills in forest management Clarifying the territorial area of Watui Village by Planting Long-lived. This Community Service activity was carried out in Watui Village, Elpaputih District, West Seram Regency. In July - November 2024. The method used was the socialization and demonstration method. The results of the study showed that the Implementation of Phase I; Observation and Coordination, it was known that there was a lack of community knowledge regarding planting patterns and knowledge of male and female nutmeg types. Through coordination with village officials, it was discovered that there was a community conflict that had occurred because there were differences in perception and low understanding of the community. Phase II, counseling and training The community seemed enthusiastic in the discussion as seen from the active question and answer session. Proper nutmeg seed cultivation is one of the keys to success in obtaining quality plant seeds. Nutmeg seeds selected as seeds must meet physical, physiological, and genetic quality requirements. Implementation of Phase III. Monitoring and Evaluation, Evaluation results show that farmers can accept the material and have been able to apply what they have learned in the training. In practice, farmers create two small groups that carry out a series of stages according to the training they received previously. From the 350 seed sowing trials carried out, 257 seeds were successfully germinated (73.42%)
Differentiated Instruction in Merdeka Belajar Curriculum: Teachers’ Perception in EFL Context
This study investigates English teachers' perceptions, challenges, and how they overcome implementing Differentiated Instruction within the Merdeka Curriculum in the EFL context. The researcher used a narrative inquiry approach, including Document, Observation class, and Interview. This research describes and explains the experiences of 2 English Teachers in applying DI to support the Merdeka Belajar curriculum. Participants were purposively selected from SMA Negeri 2 Ambon, specifically those involved in the Guru Penggerak program batch 1 in 2020. The findings reveal that teachers perceive DI as a practical approach to addressing diverse student needs and enhancing engagement and achievement. They demonstrate a strong understanding of DI principles, tailoring content, processes, and products to individual students. Despite encountering significant internal challenges such as self-efficacy and external challenges like time management and resource allocation, teachers employ strategies including collaboration with colleagues, thorough preparation, effective group management, and fostering open communication. These efforts help manage the complexities of DI, ensuring a responsive and inclusive learning environment.
 
Implementation of project-based learning in Aquaculture Course at Tual State Polytechnique of Fisheries
Project-based learning model emphasizes practical experience and real projects. By implementing this learning model, skills that are much needed in society and the world of work today can be developed well in higher education. The Aquaculture Technology study program at the Politeknik Perikanan Negeri Tual must prepare graduates who are competent at work. The aquaculture course offers location planning concepts, culture methods, feeding management, water quality management, disease control, harvesting, packing and transportation of harvested produce. These concepts can be learned by applying a project-based learning model using the Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) for fish culture. Thus, this study was aimed to analyze the effectiveness of project-based learning model implementation to improve the student learning outcomes in aquaculture course. In this study, seven students of 4th semester from the Aquaculture Technology Study Program was selected. The learning outcomes assessed include the cognitive domain using pre-test and post-test questions, while affective and psychomotor assessment used the 21st century skills, literacy skills, life skills, reports and presentations. All data were analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that the project-based learning model is effectively applied in aquaculture course, as shown by the average initial test score of 55.29 and an increase in the final test score of 80.86; 21st century skills of 81.79; literacy skills of 74.95; life skills of 75.49; reports and presentations amounted to 74.14. In lecture activities, students are productive and creative in developing knowledge, attitudes, and skills in an integrated manner
