PERFORMANCE LOSS QUANTIFICATION IN KERNEL DENSITY ESTIMATION FOR ACTUARIAL AND FINANCIAL ANALYSIS
Accurately estimating aggregate loss distributions is critical in actuarial and financial risk assessment, as it underpins effective risk analysis and the development of mitigation strategies. However, incorrect parametric assumptions can lead to biased risk estimates and underestimated losses. Non-parametric methods, such as Kernel Density Estimation (KDE), offer a flexible alternative by generating smooth empirical probability density functions (PDFs) directly from sample data without assuming a specific distributional form. This study examines the impact of dependence structures on risk measures by applying KDE with a Gaussian kernel to estimate aggregate loss distributions. To quantify the effects of ignoring dependence, we introduce the concept of performance loss, focusing on variance, Value at Risk (VaR), and Tail Value at Risk (TVaR). The results show that performance loss increases with the correlation coefficient, indicating that higher dependency leads to greater underestimation of risk. Additionally, higher confidence levels amplify performance loss for VaR and TVaR, underscoring the sensitivity of these measures to tail behavior. These findings highlight the importance of incorporating dependence structures in risk modeling to avoid misleading evaluations. The implications are particularly relevant for disaster risk management in Central Asia, where overlooking interdependencies in seismic losses could result in inadequate financial and actuarial strategies
APPLICATION OF GPU-CUDA PARALLEL COMPUTING TO THE SMITH-WATERMAN ALGORITHM TO DETECT MUSIC PLAGIARISM
This study introduces the Smith-Waterman algorithm because the advantage of this algorithm is that it can determine the similarity from any position that corresponds to music plagiarism, considering that song similarities can occur in any part of a song. Plagiarism detection can be done by comparing the melody notes of 2 songs to determine whether or not there are similarities. Songs that are identified as plagiarism have similar melodies of 8 bars. However, the Smith-Waterman algorithm has a weakness, namely that the speed of this algorithm is relatively slow, so parallel computing is required to speed up the detection process. Parallel computing relies on the capabilities of multi-core GPUs that can be programmed using CUDA. Therefore, the innovation raised in this study is to speed up the computing process in detecting music plagiarism by applying parallel computing to the Smith-Waterman algorithm. The methodology stages begin with melody extraction, namely taking the song melody from the MIDI file along with the melody's tempo in the MIDI file and then transposing it to the basic tone of C. The study's results showed that using the GPU can speed up the execution time by up to 5.7 times compared to using the CPU. In addition, validation was carried out with real music plagiarism cases and validation of the results using the MIPPIA website. This shows that parallel computing has been successfully applied to the Smith-Waterman algorithm in detecting music plagiarism
THE SHOELACE ALGORITHM IN ENGINEERING: PYTHON APPLICATIONS FOR AREA AND INERTIAL ANALYSIS
The Shoelace Method is a classic mathematical formula for the determination of the area of polygons. This method is based on the vertex coordinates of a polygon and has significant applications in science and engineering. This article explores the method's extension to calculate the centroids and moments of inertia of plane shapes, which is essential for structural and mechanical analysis. By executing these calculations in Python programming, the study shows the method's practicality and flexibility for modern engineering tasks. The article introduces a Python-based structure using libraries like NumPy, Shapely, and Matplotlib for enabling efficient computational modelling and visualization. Through example problems, the versatility of the Shoelace Method in solving real-world engineering shapes is showcased
MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF DENGUE HEMORRHAGIC FEVER SPREAD WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF TRANSMISSION RISK
Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a vector-borne disease caused by the dengue virus, transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected female Aedes aegypti mosquito. DHF is prevalent in tropical regions, necessitating mathematical modeling to better understand its dynamics and predict its spread. This study develops and analyzes a mathematical model for DHF transmission that incorporates seven compartments to reflect different transmission risk levels. Stability analysis of the disease-free and endemic equilibria was conducted, with the basic reproduction number used to classify the conditions under which DHF transmission is controlled or endemic . Key model parameters were estimated using DHF case data from East Java in 2018, employing a genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the estimation process. The GA approach achieved a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of , ensuring high accuracy in parameter values. Furthermore, the basic reproduction number was determined to be , which is greater than one, confirming that DHF remains endemic in East Java. Sensitivity analysis identified the mosquito biting rate , mosquito mortality rate , and transmission rates as the most critical factors influencing . Numerical simulations demonstrated the effects of these key parameters on both and the symptomatic human population . An increase in , , or significantly amplified and , while a rise in had the opposite effect, reducing both transmission and infections. These results underscore the critical role of vector control strategies, such as increasing mosquito mortality and reducing breeding sites, in mitigating DHF outbreaks. This study highlights the utility of combining mathematical modeling with genetic algorithm-based parameter estimation to provide accurate insights into disease dynamics and inform effective control measures
Fatty Acid and Amino Acid Profile of Mancadu Clam (Atrina vexillum) in Waai Village
Mancadu clam (Atrina Vexillum) is a food source for Maluku coastel communities with high nutritional value and contains various bioactive components, including fatty acids and amino acids. This study analyzed the content of fatty acids and amino acids in mancadu clams (Atrina Vexillum) in Waai village. Fatty acid analysis was carried out through a maceration extraction process with the Shaking Incubator method and transesterification using the microwave. Amino acid analysis was carried out by hydrolysis for 12 hours. The results of the research, the fatty acids of mancadu clams contain 7 fatty acid components, consisting of 2 saturated fatty acids, namely hexadecanoic or methyl palmitate, which is the most significant component (17.61%) and heptadecanoic acid (13.43%). Unsaturated fatty acids are hydrosinnamic acid (15.01%), 5,8,11,14- eicosatetranoic acid/omega-6 fatty acid (7.2%), octadecanoic acid (6.65%), 9-Octadecanoic acid (5.1%) and 8,11-eicosadinoic acid or FUPA (4.68%). The results of amino acid analysis of mancadu clams (Atrina Vexillum) on 18 amino acids obtained 6 types of essential amino acids namely leucine, valine, isoleucine, threonine, methionine and arginine which the largest compound from acid hydrolysis (1150.94 mg/Kg). There are 7 types of nonessential amino acids: glutamic acid, alanine, serine, glycine, aspartic acid, and proline. 
Evaluation of Lead (Pb) Bioaccumulation Levels by sea grass (Enhalus acoroides) at Tulehu Village Port
This research aims to study the level of heavy metal Pb bioaccumulation by sea grass (Enhalus acoroides) in the waters of Tulehu Village, Central Maluku Regency, where the type of particles and Pb content in sediment, roots and leaves are important variables for studying the accumulation and translocation of Pb metal ions by sea grass. Lead (Pb) content in sediment, roots and leaves of sea grass was measured using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The ability to accumulate and translocate lead (Pb) in sea grass (Enhalus acoroides) is known from the BCF (bioconcentration factor) and TF (translocation factor) values. The results of the study showed that the type of sediment particle grains at point I was 2.92% gravel, 86.67% sand, 26.67% mud, the size of sediment grains at point II was 16.67% gravel, 82.94% sand, 2.35% mud, and the size of sediment grains at point III was 19.77%, 64.58% sand, 1.04% mud. The Pb metal content produced at point I ranged from 4.80 mg/kg, point II ranged from 4.85 mg/kg and point III ranged from 4.44 mg/kg. PENERAPAN MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING PADA KONSEP KONFIGURASI ELEKTRON TERHADAP PENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK KELAS X SMK NEGERI 1 KEPULAUAN TANIMBAR
Telah dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning pada konsep konfigurasi elektron di SMK Negeri 1 Kepulauan Tanimbar. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X yang berjumlah 16 peserta didik tahun ajaran 2022/2023 pada semester ganjil. Tipe penelitian ini, yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik tes dan observasi. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes awal, LKPD, tes akhir dan non tes yang berupa lembaran pengamatan afektif dan psikomotor. Hasil analisis data yang diperoleh bahwa hasil belajar telah mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum (KKM) yaitu pada aspek kognitif, afektif, psikomotor dengan nilai tes akhir diperoleh adalah kualifikasi sangat baik 2 peserta didik (12.5%), kualifikasi baik 8 peserta didik (50%), kualifikasi cukup baik 5 peserta didik (31.25%) dan 1 peserta didik (6.25%) dalam kualifikasi gagal, dengan nilai rata-rata afektif 1.495 dan nilai rata-rata psikomotor 1.508. Peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai N-Gain sebesar 0.69 atau 50% dalam kualifikasi sedang. Dengan demikian penerapan model Discovery Learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik dalam kategori sedang pada konsep konfigurasi elektron
Morphological Response of Local Cowpea Varieties of Southwest Maluku to Drought Stress with PEG 6000 Induction in the Germination Phase
Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp), commonly known as kacang merah, is a type of legume native to southwest Maluku. This area is one of the areas with limited water availability, which causes stress to the plants. Drought stress can inhibit plant morphological growth starting from germination phase to reproductive phase. Simulation of drought stress environment can use PEG 6000. This study aims to analyze the morphological response of drought stress treatment with PEG 6000 induction in the germination phase of local cowpea varieties in Southwest Maluku. The study used a completely randomized design with PEG 6000 concentration treatment on different local varieties. The research stages consisted of preparation of PEG 6000 solution according to treatment concentration, seed germination for 7 days, and measurement of germination parameters (number of seventh day sprouts, final germination percentage, root and shoot length of sprouts, wet and dry weight of sprouts). The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA and then Duncan's test. The results showed that PEG 6000 induction affected the morphological response of each local cowpea variety in Southwest Maluku at the germination stage. Variety KM6 showed better morphological response than other varieties in all PEG 6000 concentration treatments
PERSPEKTIF PSIKOLINGUISTIK PADA PEMROSESAN EMOSI BARU KARAKTER RILEY DALAM FILM INSIDE OUT 2
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas lebih lanjut proses eksplorasi emosi baru dan psikologis karakter Riley dalam film “Inside Out 2” dengan konsep Zona Perkembangan Proksimal (ZPD) yang dikemukakan oleh Lev Vygotsky, serta untuk menjelaskan bagaimana dukungan emosi dan scaffolding berperan dalam membantu Riley mengelola perasaan-perasaan kompleks yang muncul sepanjang film. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik analisis konten, yang dimana dilakukan observasi terhadap film “Inside Out 2” dan teknik pengumpulan data simak-analisis-catat tentang emosi baru pada film tersebut. Adapun hasil pembahasan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam berbagai adegan, Riley mengalami berbagai bentuk tekanan sosial dan emosional yang mempengaruhi cara dia berinteraksi dengan dunia sekitarnya. Perasaan seperti kecemasan (anxiety), iri (envy), malu (embarrassment), dan kebosanan (ennui) adalah contoh situasi di mana Riley belum dapat mengelola emosinya sepenuhnya tanpa bantuan dari emosi-emosi yang lebih berpengalaman seperti Joy, Anger, Disgust, Sadness, dan Fear. Teori ZPD dalam artikel ini digunakan untuk memahami bagaimana Riley, dalam proses perkembangan emosionalnya, membutuhkan bantuan eksternal baik dari teman sebaya, keluarga, maupun emosi yang lebih berpengalaman untuk mengatasi dan mengelola emosi yang dialaminya
ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA PADA MATERI SISTEM PERSAMAAN LINEAR TIGA VARIABEL
This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to find out the types of errors made by students in completing the story of a three-variable system of equations in class X SMA Negeri 4 Maluku Tengah. This research was conducted in class X-2 of SMA Negeri 4 Maluku Tengah for the academic year 2021/2022 from May to June 2022. The data collection techniques used were tests, interviews and documentation. The research instrument is the researcher, the test sheet about the story of the three-variable linear equation system, guidelines and interviews. Data analysis test results to find out the types of errors in accordance with the procedure New people include comprehension error, transformation errors, process skills and encoding errors. The selection of subjects to be interviewed was 3 students, including 1 student with high ability, 1 student with moderate ability and 1 student with low ability. Of the three, based on the results of the interview, it was found that those with high abilities only made mistakes on question number 1, where the indicators of understanding errors and writing the final explanation were, while subjects with medium and low abilities made errors indicators on each question.
