The Influence of Staple Food Prices on the Purchasing Power of the Community in Wayame Village RT/RW 007/004

    No full text
The price of staple goods plays a crucial role in determining consumer purchasing power, especially in areas where economic conditions depend on market price stability. This study aims to analyze the effect of staple food prices on the purchasing power of the community in Wayame Village RT/RW 007/004. The research method employed a quantitative approach using simple linear regression analysis to measure the relationship between staple food prices (independent variable) and purchasing power (dependent variable). Primary data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 72 respondents, while secondary data was obtained from relevant sources such as statistical reports and previous research. The results indicate that prices significantly influence purchasing power, with a regression coefficient of 0.356, meaning that an increase of one unit in price results in a 0.356 unit increase in purchasing power. The t-value of 5.291 and significance level (Sig.) of 0.000 confirm that price has a significant effect on purchasing power (p < 0.05). Additionally, the correlation coefficient (R) of 0.534 suggests a moderate positive relationship between price and purchasing power. Meanwhile, the R Square value of 0.286 indicates that 28.6% of the variability in purchasing power can be explained by price, while 71.4% is influenced by other factors not analyzed in this study. These findings suggest that competitive and stable prices can enhance purchasing power, whereas significant price increases may reduce people's ability to meet their basic needs. Therefore, sellers should set prices that align with consumer purchasing power, while government intervention is necessary to monitor and stabilize staple food prices through policies that support economic stability

NONPARAMETRIC REGRESSION MODELING USING THE SPLINE APPROACH TO STUNTING CASES IN INDONESIA

    Get PDF
Indonesia is the fourth ranked country in the world and second in Southeast Asia with the highest stunting cases of 21.6%. According to the provisions of the World Health Organization (WHO), the maximum tolerance standard for stunted toddlers is 20 percent or one-fifth of the total number of toddlers, so the stunting rate in Indonesia is still relatively high. The high stunting rate in Indonesia can affect the quality of Indonesia's human resources, so early detection and immediate management of stunted toddlers are needed. Stunting is a condition of failure to grow due to chronic malnutrition which is caused by inadequate nutritional intake for a long time, resulting in being shorter than standard. This research aims to determine several factors that influence stunting in toddlers in Indonesia using the nonparametric spline regression method with one knot, two knots, three knots and the best model is found to be the one knot model. The results of regression nonparametric spline modeling with one knot are GCV of 14.32605 and  of 81.1%. From the five variables, namely toddlers receiving complete basic immunization  babies receiving exclusive breast milk for 6 months , babies born receiving IMD  children aged 6-23 months consuming five of the eight food groups and drink throughout the day , households having access to proper sanitation , the following results were obtained: the variable that don’t have a significant effect was toddlers receiving complete basic immunization , while the other four has a significant effect

When applied to spatial panel data, the Geographically Weighted Panel Regression (GWPR) model is a localized version of the linear regression model. The Fixed Effect Model (FEM) inside estimator is used as a global model in this investigation. The purpose of this research is to obtain a GWPR model and identify the variables that affect the proportion of the impoverished in 56 districts and cities located in Kalimantan's humid tropical forest region between 2019 and 2022. The Weighted Least Square (WLS) approach, which provides geographic weighting in addition to the Least Square method, is used for estimating the parameters of the GWPR model. The optimal weighting function chosen from the adaptive bisquare, adaptive tricube, and adaptive gaussian weightings is the spatial weighting function used in the GWPR model estimate in this work. For determining the ideal bandwidth, the Cross Validation (CV) criterion is applied. According to the study's findings, the optimal weighting function is adaptive gaussian, which yields the best GWPR model with a CV of 8.8740 at the lowest. The GWPR model parameters were tested, and the results showed that both local and global influences affect the percentage of the population living in poverty. The gross domestic product (GDP), the open unemployment rate, the average length of education, the number of workers, and life expectancy are local factors that affect the percentage of the poor; on the other hand, the number of workers is a global factor that affects the percentage of the poor

THE DESIGN OF STANDARD GRAPH FOR TODDLER GROWTH USES NONPARAMETRIC PENALIZED SPLINE REGRESSION

One way to carry out early detection of toddler growth is through the Healthy Way Card (KMS). The KMS used in Indonesia does not describe the growth behavior of toddlers. The KMS used is the standard from the World Health Organization (WHO). Apart from that, the growth chart for toddlers at each age will show different patterns. This pattern does not form a linear graph or a particular pattern. Therefore, the Nonparametric Regression method was used using a penalized spline estimator which produces a local Indonesian standard KMS which is used to assess the growth of toddlers. Designing KMS with a confidence interval approach to nonparametric regression values using a penalized spline estimator. Data was obtained from the results of the recapitulation of Posyandu in Bojonegoro from January to December 2023, totaling 120 data. The variables used in this research are the toddler's weight (y) as the response variable and the toddler's age (x) as the predictor variable. In nonparametric regression modeling using a penalized spline estimator with several combinations of numbers and knot point locations. Selection of optimal knot points using minimum Generalized Cross Validation (GCV). Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that there are different times of weight change for male toddlers and female toddlers in Bojonegoro. The weight of male toddlers in Bojonegoro has 3 patterns of change, namely the weight of male toddlers increases drastically until the age of 16 months, then increases slowly until the age of 55 months. Then the weight of male toddlers will increase again drastically after the age of 55 months. Meanwhile, the weight of female toddlers in Bojonegoro has three patterns of change, namely the weight of female toddlers increases drastically until the age of 5 months, then increases slowly until the age of 15 months, and again increases drastically after the age of 15 months. This can be caused by physical differences in babies based on gender. To create a standard chart for toddlers' weight growth based on age, it was analyzed by calculating the percentile values consisting of P3, P15, P50, P85, and P97 for each toddler age category

SMALL AREA ESTIMATION OF THE PERCENTAGE HOUSEHOLDS WITH FOOD EXPENDITURE SHARE MORE THAN 65 PERCENT IN LOW EXPENDITURE GROUP

The right to get adequate food is a human right that must be fulfilled. Food insecurity is a problem that arises from not fulfilling food needs physically or economically. Food insecurity and poverty are interrelated. The United Nations prioritizes the elimination of poverty as the first goal and achieving food security as the second goal in the Sustainable Development Goals. In 2022, East Java had the highest percentage of households with a food expenditure share more than 65 percent in Java. The availability of data by expenditure group illustrates the economic status of households will assist the government in making targeted policies.  However, the calculation of direct estimates at the regency level has not shown good precision, characterized by estimates with an RSE >25 percent. Therefore, this study aims to implement SAE HB Beta to improve the precision of the direct estimator. The result shows that SAE HB Beta produces a more precise estimation

West Kalimantan is particularly susceptible to the devastating effects of forest fires, among the natural disasters that have a significant impact. One of the indicators that can be used to identify forest fires is the presence of hotspots. The term "hotspot" refers to data that has both spatial and temporal characteristics. Using the Generalized Space-Time Autoregressive (GSTAR) model combined with the Queen Contiguity weight matrix, this research aims to model and forecast the confidence level of hotspots in Kubu Raya Regency and its surrounding areas. We chose the GSTAR model because of its ability to model spatial interactions between locations and temporal change patterns over time. According to NASA FIRMS, the data used in this study were confidence level hotspot data, covering the period from January 2014 to August 2024. To define locations for modeling, the study area was divided into grids measuring  degrees. The maximum confidence level value in each grid was used to represent the highest potential fire risk. The research process consists of the following stages: data preparation, stationarity testing, calculation of the Queen Contiguity spatial weight matrix, identification of model orders based on STACF and STPACF plots, and estimation of model parameters to predict hotspot confidence levels. The GSTAR (3;1) model was selected as the best model because it satisfies the white-noise assumption and has a MAPE value of 14.78%. Based on the MAPE, the GSTAR (3;1) model can provide reasonably accurate predictions for the confidence level of fire points over the following three periods. The prediction results indicate a decline in the fire point confidence level across all locations during the following three periods. The findings of this study can support the optimization of resource allocation in the prevention of forest fires

    Get PDF
The development of digital technology has brought various changes to everyday life, including in the field of education. One prominent phenomenon is the increasing use of online games by students, which can have both positive and negative impacts on their behavior and academic performance. This study aims to analyze the extent to which online games affect the academic achievement of students at SMP Muhammadiyah Ambon. The research uses a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, with data collected through questionnaires and interviews, and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that the impact of online games varies depending on the students' ability to manage their time. Some students who are able to limit their gaming time and prioritize studying continue to show good academic performance. However, students who struggle to control the amount of time spent on gaming tend to experience a decline in academic achievement. This indicates that the influence of online games is not entirely negative if balanced with good self-control. Therefore, it is important for students, parents, and teachers to work together to raise awareness of the importance of time management and self-regulation, so that gaming activities do not interfere with, but rather support, optimal learning outcomes
